A/N 2: Ok, sorry for the long update, wanna know why. I thought no one like my story, cause I got no reviews whatsoever. Finally I got one today, so I thought.. what the hey, Ill give a quick update. Besides my muse for this story has all but left, and I started writing another story. No I haven't posted it yet. It's sitting in a notebook at work. I write when I'm on the phone with a customer who keeps saying the same thing over and over again, and I eventually tune them out.. Had a lot of those today.. so many.. my ear hurts from where the receiver pressed up against my ear.

The Ride over and the Beach

Kagome and Inuyasha pulled up into Kouga's driveway in her van. It was an older van, but was kept in good condition due to Kagome's general knowledge of cars. Sad thing is that what Kagome considered general knowledge most other girls viewed as full complete and ultra knowledge of cars. She would often do her friends oil changes and such for a lot cheaper than the local auto shops.

Kagome hoped out of her 94 GMC Safari and closed the door, and walked around to find Kouga sitting on the picnic table

"Hey, why'd you bring the beast?" That being the nickname for Kagome's van


Kagome quirked an eyebrow at him, "What did you think the 5 of us were going to fit inside the pinto?"

Kouga's face visibly flushed at this and Kagome and Inuyasha couldn't help but laugh.

"Don't worry about it Kouga, We got pop and snack stuff at my house as well." (A/N: Yes, I am from Michigan.. we call it pop, everywhere else is wrong =D) Kagome chuckled as she moved to sit next to Kouga and lean back against the picnic table.

Inuyasha couldn't help but watch her. She was dressed in her black Speedo bathing suit that had red straps that traveled down the sides and then to the inner parts of her thighs that seem to just draw ones eyes towards her groin. Inuyasha knew it from before because he was there when she put her short daisy duke shorts on over top of them before the drove over.

Kagome pulled out her only pair of daisy dukes and showed them to Inuyasha when he came back in the room. She was dressed in her bathing suit, and had made his mouth go dry. She held them up for him to see.

"They're my only pair of Daisy Dukes. I only wear them when I go swimming, otherwise I would feel so... ya know.." Kagome finished. Inuyasha couldn't help but chuckle at her as she blushed slightly. "Stop laughing at me. There's a cooler in the closet in the living room, grab it and start putting some pop in it. We'll get ice on the way over." Kagome said as she pushed him out the door.

He had yelled at her, when she commanded him to do something, but she just shut the door to her room in his face. "Just do it, don't be such a whiner!"

Inuyasha looked back as he heard a car approaching. Sango and Miroku were back, no doubt after they had a bit of their own fun. Inuyasha groaned inwardly and turned his attention back to Kouga and Kagome. The sight did not make him happy. She was laying on her back looking up at the sky while her feet where in Kouga's lap and he was gently massaging her feet. He did not know why he was jealous.. he just was.. wait a second!! ME jealous?!? cause of the wimpy wolf!! No way. Get it out of your head Yasha


Kagome looked up at Inuyasha with a glower on his face. She furrowed her brow and wondered what was wrong with him. She mentally shrugged it off and arched her back to look who had come up the driveway. She pulled her feet from Kouga's lap and jumped to her feet. Sango was wearing a black two-piece swimsuit, with short bottoms and a sporty top, but had a pair of low-rise flare jeans on. Kagome waved to them and chuckled at Miroku's purple Hawaiian flower swim trunks.

"Hey guys, you almost ready?"

They both nodded, "OK, just put your stuff in the back of the van, and well get going. We have to stop by the gas station before we go so we can get some ice."

They all nodded and soon they were off towards the beach with a quick stop to get some ice. Kagome had jumped out and headed inside with Inuyasha behind her. She just thought that he wanted to get something else to drink. She was surprised when she went up to the counter to pay for the ice, that Inuyasha paid for it instead. She looked back at him and looked at him questionably.

"Feh, don't think too much into it. You've supplied the food and the ride, the least I could do is pay for the ice."

Kagome blushed slightly. She was always like that, getting everything together and paying for it too without even a second thought. She nodded her head in thanks and went to grab the ice from outside, when Inuyasha beat her too it and was already breaking it apart. She looked at him slightly bewildered as he broke it up and put it in the cooler.

"Thanks, Inuyasha, but you really didn't have to. I would've done it." Kagome said sheepishly. Why was she like this all of a sudden, most guys she would've yelled at for thinking that she couldn't do it on her own, but for some reason she just let him do it.

"Feh" Was his only reply.

Before they knew it they were at the beach, listening to the radio that Sango had brought and watching the kids play around the beach. Kagome stood up and stretched easily, and pulled off her dukes, and tossed them aside running into the water. Inuyasha just watched her amazed, she was so athletic and the way that she easily swam out into the wavy water and swam with ease impressed him even more.

"Kagome's on the swim team during the winter season." Sango explained to his unasked question. When he turned to face her confused, Sango sighed and explained further. "Shikon High, doesn't have the funds or the swimmers to make two separate teams for girls in the fall and boys in the winter, so they make a co-ed team, and swim in the winter. Kagome's really good, though you wont hear her saying that. She just missed making it to states last year by one placement."

Inuyasha raised his eyebrows in surprise and looked back out at the water. He couldn't see her, and that made him worry. He sat up and looked around, not seeing her. "Don't worry, she likes to swim underwater a lot" Sango explained to his worried expression. Shed only met Inuyasha a few times and both times he had been brash and rude, but he was acting much different from the other times she hung out with him, and the worried expression on his face made her think that Kagome might have something to do with it. Looking to the side she saw Miroku and Kouga racing. She sighed and rolled her eyes. He thought he was the best at everything, even though Kouga was a fast wolf demon, he would still challenge him to a race, and when he lost, would challenge him to something else.

Inuyasha barely took in Sango's words as he continued to search the sea, she was not to be seen for too long. That wasn't normal, not even for a demon. Inuyasha sat up suddenly when he saw some thrashing in the water. Instantly his heart clench and he stood up suddenly and dashed for the coast. Why did they have to come to a beach that wasn't equipped with a lifeguard?! He thought to himself, as he stopped just where the water and the sand met, his eyes searching for that splash again.

OK, I'm stopping it here, its 1am est. and I'm tired. Once again sorry I haven't updated, but I get the feeling that not a lot of people like my fic because well.. for some odd reason my quotation marks don't show up. Strange huh? Well it might change soon. A friend of ours might be able to build me a new computer for only $400 sweet huh? especially since I have everything else, I just need the actual computer. Anyways. Read and review, and tell me if the bold letters really do bug you... Maybe I'll devise a new way to write it.
