Sorry for the late update, I seem to be updating about every one or two weeks, sorry it hasn't been sooner, college does that especially with these large booty papers that occur at the end of the semester, its really not all that fun. Oh well, here's the next chapter!

Chapter 7
Rescue and Lotion!

Inu yasha looked frantically at the water trying to see her. Finally he saw a splash again and he ran out as far as he could before he dove into the water, when he came up he started to doggie paddle.

His eyes darted back and forth looking for Kagome, then when he was about 1/2 mile out from shore she saw her come up again before being pulled back underwater again. He dove deep into the water following the bubbles that she left

Grabbing her outstretched hand he pulled her up to the surface, but by then she was already unconscious. Inuyasha pulled her on his back and started to paddle back towards the shore. Once he got to where he could stand, he spun around and picked her up bridal style and ran to the shore.

He dropped down to his knees next to her and checked her vital, She has a heartbeat, its weak, but she's not breathing!

"Shit!" He cursed as he placed his hand in the middle of her chest and pumped 5 times. He then leaned over to her face, pinching her nose lightly and tilting her head back. Taking a deep breath he pressed his lips to hers and blew 3 large breaths into her mouth. He waited a second and then repeated the process again. When he pressed his lips to hers a third time, she suddenly cough and spit up some water. Inuyasha jumped back and grimaced slightly at the taste of salt water in his mouth, before his attention turned back to Kagome

He rolled her to the side and let her cough the rest of the water out of her mouth. Inuyasha released the breath that he didn't realize he was holding and went over and sat Kagome up, letting her rest her back against his chest.

"Kagome, are you ok?!" Inuyasha asked

She nodded her head and in a couple of ragged breathes. Suddenly she turned around and wrapped her arms around his neck

"Oh Inuyasha! Thank you so much for saving my life! I thought I was going to die!" She cried suddenly

Inuyasha tensed a she hugged him and smirked slightly while he patted her on the back nervously. His lips stilled tingled slightly. He hadn't though about what he did, he did it just to save her life, but he couldn't help but think how sweet she had tasted.

Kagome breathed in heavily as she clung to Inuyasha. Her eyes went wide and she realized what she was doing. She slowly pulled back from him and sheepishly looked down and then up at everyone's worried looks.

"What happened?!" Sango asked

Kagome furrowed her brow and though hard. She really wasn't totally sure. She was just suddenly was pulled down while she was swimming underwater.

"I'm not really sure. I think I got pulled under by the under toe. All I really remember is swimming and then being pulled under and by the time I reached the surface, I was so tired that I went back under again.. or something like that…"

Kagome took a deep breath and couldn't help but feel the well of emotions suddenly come up from her chest and she started to cry. Bringing her knees up to her chest, she wrapped her arms around them and rested her head on her knees and let the sobs take her. She didn't care what anyone though, she almost died. If it hadn't been for Inuyasha...

Inuyasha, she looked up at him with her puffy eyes and sighed. She owed his her life, and she had no idea how she would be able to repay that.

Inuyasha looked back at the puffy eyed girl and felt his heart soften. He moved closer to her and without even thinking about it He put his arms around her shoulders.

"Hey," he said gently "It's going to be ok, we got you in time. You'll be fine" He watched Kagome nod her head slowly and smile at him. "Come on, let's get you something to eat so you can relax." Kagome nodded her head meekly, and made to stand up, but Inuyasha beat her to it, and carried her bridal style back to the blanket. She started to protest, but something else caught her attention suddenly, and he was thankful for that.. or so he thought

His eyes shot open and he turned his head and glared at Kagome. She had reached up and grabbed one of his ears and started to gently scratch it, and he instantly felt his shorts get tighter and he glared at her.

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" He snapped at her

She pulled her hand back in a flinch at his harsh tone and narrowed her eyes at him

"Well excuse me! I just wanted to know what they felt like!" She yelled back at him

Inuyasha growled and set her on the blanket and not as gently as he could've been. Inuyasha then squatted next to her, making sure to cover his groin with his legs.

"Just don't do it!" He retorted back and stood up and walked away from her. In the background he could hear Kouga laughing. Inuyasha hoped that Kouga would keep his mouth shut, because he stupidly let it slip what rubbing his ears does to him when he was at Kouga's house one afternoon.

"I'm going swimming." He said and started towards the ocean, hoping that the cold water would be able to take care of his little problem

Kagome looked after Inuyasha, really puzzled at his change in attitude, and even more Kouga's sudden outburst of laughter. She bit her lower lip and tired to figure out what was going on when Sango interrupted her thoughts.

"Just ignore them…" Sango sighed as she handed Kagome a pop, "Here drink this, then have a sandwich, you need your strength back and then take a nap after you finish eating" Sango ordered, she was really worried about her, but knowing Kagome she would be joking about it soon enough.

Kagome finished the pop and sandwich and put it in the nearby trashcan after waving off a protesting Sango that was determined to do it for her. Yeah, she almost died this afternoon, but that didn't mean she was helpless.

But you let him carry you

Kagome slammed the garbage into the can with a little more force than was needed. She was a strong girl, and always prided herself on not being like other girls. She walked back to the blanket and sat down. She really didn't want to take a nap, but she was tired.

"Too much stress for one day…" She mumbled to herself as she laid down on her stomach and rested her head on her forearms, and then before she knew it she had fallen asleep.

Inuyasha walked out of the ocean, he had made sure not to go out to far because there obviously was a bad undertow. He glanced around and noticed Sango, Miroku and Kouga were tossing around a football, well it was more like Sango and Kouga, Miroku kept drooling at Sango and trying to grope her in which case he hit him in the head with the football. HE sighed and looked for the other member of their little group. Kagome was sleeping on her stomach, he could even hear her light snores. He smirked slightly and a mental note to mention it to her later.

He slowly walked over to the blanket, pretending that he was just going to get a pop, but she was staring at her the whole time. He noticed how her back was starting to burn. HE sighed and rolled his eyes. She's probably too stubborn to put sunblok on. He just set his pop down and dug through her large yellow backpack till he found a small tube of sun block. He squeezed a small amount on his hand and dropped to his knees beside her. Reaching out a hand, he gently pressed it against her skin. He cringed and tensed, not moving a muscle when he felt her starting to wake up.

Kagome felt something ice cold on her back, but it was soothing at the same time. She was a little upset to be woken up from a nice dream, though she quite remember what it was, all she could remember was there was silver and red in it. Groggily Kagome turned her head to look up at Inuyasha. Seeing him, she slowly raised a single eyebrow.

"What are you doing?" She asked sleepily.

Inuyasha scowled down at her, "What's it look like stupid? You didn't put any sun block on and you're so damn pale that you will burn!" Inuyasha snapped then turned his head away from her scowling at the ocean, all the while keeping his hand stationary on his back. Kagome looked over her shoulder at the stationary hand and giggled slightly.

Inuyasha spun his head back towards her, "What's so funny?" He snapped at her.

"You" She answered, "IF you're going to put sun block on my back, you need to rub it in." Kagome smirked at the slight blush of embarrassment that crossed his face as he began to rub the lotion into her back. She closed her eyes in contentment and heaved a big sigh.

"That's good, I think I'm going to go back to sleep…" Kagome mumbled as she drifted off back to sleep.

Inuyasha just nodded and continue to rub the lotion on her back around the straps of her swimsuit. He smirked as he heard her fall back asleep, he wondered if she would stay that way when he started to rub her legs. He dabbed a bit more lotion on his hand and then started at her ankles, slowly making his way up her legs, switching back and forth between the legs to keep them even till he was just below the bottom of her suit. He first started to rub the leg farthest away from him, and smirked when she moaned in her sleep when he rubbed her inner thigh. She then moved to the leg closest to him and he earned the same response from her. Unable to help himself he reached between her legs and stroked the outside of her womanhood through the bathing suit.

He had never seen a woman move so fast in his life, before he knew it she was sitting up, turned facing him, and slapping him across the face. But she didn't stop there. She slapped him across his other cheek and then stood up kicking him in his groin.

"YOURE NOTHING BUT A BIG PERVERT!! YOU DISGUST ME!" Kagome turned around and looked at the stunned faces of her friends. "WERE GOING HOME NOW. GET YOUR STUFF AND MEET OUT AT THE VAN." Kagome grabbed her large backpack and headed for her van.

So what did you guys think!? thanks for the reviews, I tried to put a little more comedy in this at the end so that you wouldn't be so bummed by Kagome almost dieing. Still not quite sure where this story is headed, but I'm working on it. don't know how long it will be. I just right out bits and pieces of chapters when I'm at work, and then bring it home when I think it am a finished chapter.

Any suggestions and where it should go from here? do you guys want a little more conflict? or just get to the good stuff?
