Chapter 2

The Forgiving Inuyasha and the return of Naraku

Inuyasha's dog-ears moved slightly at the sound of the hand waving in front of his face. He reached out his arm quickly his hands opening up in an aggressive manner taking kagome's wrist and throwing her to the side. His eyes stayed still, not even wanting to look at neither kagome nor Ayame. The chains rattled that kept him entwined in the steel prison house, as his legs shifted as if wanting to break away, but was weak and hadn't eaten in days.

Kagome fell to the ground with a thud, Ayame racing over to help her up. She knew she deserved this but thought maybe he would have treated her with a little more gratitude, coming all this way to free him. She took Ayame's hand for support in order to get up and walked to the empty Inuyasha. “I-Inuyasha, we came to free you… I know this must be awkward for you, me coming here asking you for help after what has happened 5 weeks ago”, she said her head down not wanting to look into his eyes.

“PLEASE INUYASHA WE NEED YOUR HELP, THERES SOMETHING REALLY WEIRD GOING ON AND I DON'T THINK ANY OF US CAN DEFEAT IT WITHOUT YOU!” Ayame shouted as she glared right at Inuyasha and waited for a reply feeling impatient.

Inuyasha raised his head, his eyes fixated on Kagome. “You expect me to help you…after what you put me through…” he said with a scratchy voice.

“You did this to yourself Inuyasha, kagome would have had no saying in it, if it wouldn't have been for your foolish action!” Ayame shouted once more.

Inuyasha ignored Ayame's shouting and waited for a reply from kagome.

“I' am sorry Inuyasha…I know I had the power to help and protect you from ending up in here…but you promised that if you used the shikon jewel you wouldn't become your evil demon form”

Inuyasha still looked at Kagome then said again “yes its true…I know I was foolish, but I don't think I had to be put in a prison!”

Ayame interrupted and shouted “stop taking this out on Kagome! You killed innocent people, and you think you shouldn't have been punished? STOP BEING SO SELFISH!”

Inuyasha stayed quiet, his head faced downward looking empty again. He knew it was wrong what he did, but reliving what kagome did, how could he forgive so easily? His mind raced through the past and entered the time when Kikyo had shot him with an arrow, this happened again but 5 weeks ago with kagome as she shot him in the chest to take out the shikon jewel that consumed him in rage.

Kagome stepped back concluding that he wasn't going to help them and needed to get back to the others before things got too out of hand. When suddenly she heard a cough from behind her and a choke, the chains rattled.

“K-A-G-O-M-E” Inuyasha said as he strained to yell but, not much moisture in his mouth wasn't allowing him to yell.

Kagome turned and saw Inuyasha struggling to get out of the chains. She walked to him and leaned forward to his mouth so he could tell her what he wanted to say.

She didn't hear anything at first then suddenly she heard a faint whisper that said “I' am sorry kagome”. She knew he finally came around and saw now that what he did was wrong and she had no other choice and did what she did.

Ayame smiled seeing Kagome's saddened face become a beautiful joyful face. She took the keys that once belonged to the human guard, and walked over to the locks that held the chains in place, and unlocked them, making Inuyasha fall straight to the floor with a loud thud.

Inuyasha struggled to get up; kagome kneeled down grabbing his arm and placing it over her shoulder picking him up, his feat dragging along the floor.

“Ayame get his sword” Kagome said as she entered the outside, flies now surrounding the dead guards.

Ayame ran over to the sword that lay in the corner, and reached her hand out to reach the sword. Grabbing the sheath, a shock over came her body and shot her backwards making her hit Inuyasha and Kagome. Ayame got up and looked at the sword with anger, her hair becoming frizzy and messy, and her face looking gray.

“Oops…I forgot” kagome said as she got up looking at Ayame with an innocent look “demons cant touch the sword but Inuyasha and humans” she said laughing slightly.

Ayame stared at Kagome with a blank stare and smacked her on the head with her fist, leaving Kagome holding her head jumping up and down in pain.

“Get the damn sword…” Ayame said as she picked up Inuyasha.

Kagome rushed over to the sword and grabbed it as they began to run back to the city, and regroup with their companions fighting the unknown trouble.

Not too long after rescuing Inuyasha, they meet up with their companions, each looking busy to try and keep the portion of the city protected, but with no progress. Kagome rushes over to Sango, who had just taken out a vine-like arm with her large boomerang. She turned around to see Ayame and Kagome making it safely back as well as Inuyasha, and quickly ran over to them.

“Inuyasha is badly hurt I don't think he will be able to fight this demon,” Ayame pointed out as Inuyasha still remained struggling.

“I see…” she said looking from Inuyasha from Kagome, knowing this was a happy moment for Kagome but also a sad one “alright well its best not to stand around here we need your help, lets go!” she said as she ran off jumping into the air, Kilala catching her taking off to attack another one of the vine-like arms.

“Alright Ayame, lets go” Kagome said as she stringed her bow and waited for Ayame to join her in the fight.

Ayame set Inuyasha down on the floor “he'll be fine here…I hope” she said about to run off when suddenly something grabbed and yanked her ankle.

“You think I'm just going to stand here and watch you guys?” said Inuyasha getting up with the help of his sword “I'm fine…don't worry” he said as he started in a slow walk towards the battle.

Ayame and Kagome just looked at each other and shook their heads and said together “stubborn as always” and took off into the fight.

They were doing better now with the help of three more people fighting, as most of the vine-like arms were almost destroyed. Inuyasha seemed he was doing alright except sometimes he slipped when he ran for an attack. They all fought for a long time, by this time it was dark and only two of the vine-arms remained, they looked very tired, looking as if they could no longer fight, but still continued. Inuyasha took out the first vine with a wind scar; the remains disappeared before they hit the ground, now one remained.

The last one shot at Inuyasha as soon as the second was destroyed, Inuyasha turned, it was coming too fast, he wouldn't be able to dodge it in the state he was in, the sharp vine tip was inches from his body, when suddenly, a large green flame shot from behind him burning up the vine into nothing. He turned to see Shippo standing a little bit taller than he was once before, knowing that he has grown a little in these six weeks, but turned and ignored him not giving him thanks.

“INUYASHA YOU IDIOT!” he said going for a hit to the head, when Miroku grabbed him by his foot, and stopped him from being pounded by Inuyasha.

“Now now Shippo you know better than that…” shippo nodded in agreement “he would have beat you to a pulp” said Miroku with a serious face.

Shippo's faced became angry “WHAT DID YOU SAY MIROKU, I CAN TAKE HIM, IM STRONGER I' AM I'AM!” he shouted as something hard hit his head making him fall to the ground.

“You may have gotten stronger but your still stupid” Inuyasha said as he took the hilt of his sword off of shippo.

Things seemed well, they were all happy it was over and decided to get something to eat after their hard battle, when suddenly the ground began to shake, the ground started to crack and rise up, dividing the group apart. The shaking continued opening the floor wider, then all stopped, there was a pause and then a huge rumble shook the earth as a crack formed and trailed all the way to Kagome's home. As the crack hit Kagome's house it didn't seem to make a great impact, until an explosion came from her house as something flew into the air, it looked like a well. It suspended in the air for a while then fell down hitting a building, and then the most horrible thing that could happen to Kagome, her house ignited in flames. Her brother and mother were in there! How could this have happened, why did it happen? She questioned herself feeling confused why it had burst into flames and the well was shot out of the shrine. Then, the thought hitting her head straight on she guessed, no she knew who it was, it was Naraku.

She looked up teary eyed and heard a laugh, everyone recognized this laugh and shook in fear, thinking the worst possible thing that is happening. A red orb flew into the air and made its way slowly to the group, the bubble was a dark red nothing could be seen from the inside but they knew very well who it was, and stood in fear.
