Chapter 1:
First Day of School
*BEEP BEEP BEEP BE-!*
A small groping hand came out from under the covers and slammed the snooze button. Kagome sat up, rubbed my eyes, and stretched. She looked around her room.
“Kami, I hate alarms,” she yawned.
Kagome kicked back her covers and clicked on her stereo. She turned it up and let the music blare in her room. She grabbed a towel and danced her way into her bathroom. About fifteen minutes later, Kagome walked out of the bathroom with a towel around her body and another around her hair. She went to her closet and pulled out one of her many outfits she got from the mall. After getting dressed, Kagome went into her bathroom to finish drying her hair. Kagome wasn't big on make-up, but she was into eyeliner and mascara. After applying her eyeliner and mascara, she went back into her room. She grabbed her backpack, her cell phone, and her ipod touch and headed down the stairs. Ms. Higurashi smiled at her daughter.
“Now, don't you look nice,” she said.
Kagome smiled. She had on a tight black v-neck shirt that said, `It's only funny until someone gets hurt….then it's HILARIOUS!', a pair of black shorts and black leggings underneath, and red chucks.
“Are you taking the limo?” Ms. Higurashi asked.
“Of course,” Kagome said, snagging a piece of toast from her brother's plate. “Thanks, squirt!”
“Hey!” he said.
“Relax, Souta,” Kagome smiled. “I'll buy you more.”
“Ha, ha, funny,” Souta said.
“See ya', Mom” Kagome said, heading for the door.
“Bye, honey,” Ms. Higurashi called.
Kagome walked out the door and onto the shrine grounds. She smiled. Though she was famous, Kagome opted to live at the shrine that her family owned. It gave her that `normal' feeling, as normal for her anyway. She walked down the shrine steps where the limo was waiting. A man got out of the front seat and opened the door for her.
“Thanks, Takimaru,” Kagome smiled as she got in.
“You're quite welcome, Miss Kagome,” he said, closing the door.
Kagome leaned back and took a deep breath as the limo pulled off. She closed her eyes and smiled.
“Shikon High, here I come,” she said.
Inuyasha walked down the hall, grumbling under his breath. He walked over to his locker and leaned on it. Miroku Houshi, his best friend, looked at him.
“Yash, what took you so long?” Miroku asked.
“He left me!” Inuyasha yelled, pointing at Sesshomaru, his half-brother.
“I regret nothing,” Sesshomaru said. Inuyasha growled.
“What's with the screaming crowd outside?” Inuyasha asked.
“You know the singer?” Koga asked. “Kagome Higurashi?”
“Yeah,” Inuyasha replied.
“She's gonna be goin' here,” Sango said.
“No seriously,” Inuyasha crossed his arms.
“We're beyond serious,” Rin said.
“Don't you watch MTV?” Ayame questioned.
“Not really,” Inuyasha said. “No.”
“That explains it,” Kanna said.
“There she is!” someone yelled.
Everyone turned towards the front doors of the school. Kagome walked through and looked around. As the door closed behind her, the screams from the fans could be heard. Kagome took another look around and spotted a group of boys standing by the lockers with a group of girls.
“Inuyasha, look!” Sango said.
“Uh, no,” Inuyasha snapped.
“C'mon man, she's hot,” Koga said.
“And so out of your league,” Sesshomaru stated.
“You think she's in yours?” Koga snapped.
Inuyasha rolled his eyes at the bickering pair. He looked over at the girl. She was hot. As she got closer he noticed that she looked a lot like the woman who broke his heart. His breath hitched in his throat and his eyes widened. Sango looked at him.
“What is it?” she asked.
“Kikyo?” Inuyasha whispered.
Sango followed his gaze and looked at Kagome. She gasped as she stared at the girl. She did look an awful lot like Kikyo. Kagome grinned at them as she walked by.
“Wow, she does look a lot like Kikyo,” Sango said. Kagome whirled around.
“Never compare me to my slut of a cousin,” Kagome snapped. “My name is Kagome. KA-GO-ME!”
“Yes ma'am,” Sango's eyes grew wide.
“Sorry for snappin',” Kagome said. “I just hate bein' compared to her. What's your name?”
“I'm Sango,” she said. “And it's just that you two look so much alike.”
“Yeah, I get that a lot,” Kagome said.
“But she's not Kikyo,” Inuyasha muttered. “Kikyo was cuter, much cuter.”
Kagome opened her mouth to say something, but stopped.
“I'm not even gonna waste my time,” Kagome said. “I've got more important things to do.”
She turned and walked down the hall, straight for the principal's office. She needed to get her schedule before the first bell rang. The teens all watched her walk away.
“Yash, I think you hurt her feelings,” Miroku said.
“Keh,” Inuyasha said. “She's rich. She can buy new feelings.”
“Man, you're harsh,” Koga said.
“And I don't care,” Inuyasha said, crossing his arms.
RIINNGGGGGGG!
“There's the bell,” Ayame announced.
“Yeah,” Kanna said. “Guess we better get to class.”
“Guess so,” Koga said.
“Do we have to?” Miroku asked.
“Oh, just go!” Sango said, pushing Miroku ahead of her.
Inuyasha followed behind her friends, hoping to get some much needed rest in first period.
