InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Old Maid ❯ Do You Love Me? ( Chapter 10 )
A/N:
Readers,
I would just like to reply to a couple questions. I've realized that I kind of made Sesshomaru's feelings for Kagome confusing. Yes he has chosen her as his mate, but he's not happy about liking her. He acts kind of mean sometimes because he's never felt this way for a mortal, and he's just afraid of his emotions. ^.^
Kagome's madly in love with him. She's only a teenager, and she's very impressionable. She's also going to bring a lot of drama to the story. I'm even thinking of adding a fight.
…and yes Inuyasha will be appearing again. (nails lips shut)
Disclaimer: Let's go over this again. I don't own Inuyasha, or the characters in this story.

Do You Love Me?

Kagome could barely get any work done. All she could do was think of how she had pleased her 'mate' earlier. She had to shake the impure thoughts from her head, and continue to dust. She then sensed Sesshomaru coming, and turned around.
Surely enough, he was behind her, and fully clothed. "That was strange." She said, aloud. "I-I predicted you were here." He smiled at her. "Yes. That's because of our new bond." He said.
"I have senses like you?" She asked.
He let out another laugh, as if she were a small child asking ridiculous questions. "No." He said, quite simply, in that mysterious voice of his. "I see." She said, feeling kind of stupid. She looked away, and continued tidying up.
What she could for get was what he had said before to her, 'Beautiful Girl, what spell do you have on me?' Maybe she was just being her dumb self, but did that not sound like he was in love? Maybe it was just lust? She hadn't the slightest clue, but she must have meant something to him for her to be his mate.
"Sesshomaru?" She said, breaking the silence. She turned to see he was drinking coffee at the coffee table. "Mmm?" He asked. "D-Do you love me?" She asked. She felt his eyes shoot through her. She wasn't sure what to think of that face.
Sesshomaru didn't know where this bitch got her nerve. She was like once of those nagging girlfriends you hear about in sitcoms! Sesshomaru placed his coffee down onto the coffee table. 'I really should teach her my motto about time.' He thought to himself. He gazed up at her too see that she was blushing, slightly.
"Kagome, you need to back off." He said, calmly. She just stared at him with porcelain eyes. He hated making her sad like this, and with the look she gave him, he wanted to tell her the truth. "Well." She said in a quick, huff, continuing with her work, "I love you." She said. He didn't know what to say to that. So he didn't say anything.
Kagome felt the heat of tears roll down her face. She was burning with humiliation, anger, sadness, confusion, and hurt all at once. He didn't say anything. What did that mean? He just made her his mate for mere pleasure. She couldn't take anymore of Sesshomaru's little game. She threw down her rag, grabbed her clothes, and walked to the door. "Where are you going?" His voice asked, but she didn't answer. She walked out the door.

She was walking. She didn't know where she was going. She was lost. Sure this was her neighborhood. Kind of. She continued down the main street with her little maid's outfit. Cars honking at her constantly, but she didn't care. She was crying. She really hoped nobody would stop. Or that nobody she knew would drive down this way.
She wondered if this meant she was fired. If she could never see him again. She dried her wet eyes. 'I've got to be strong, Kagome!' A little voice said inside of her. She let out a deep sigh. Then she stopped. She had a strange feeling. A tingling in her body. Like she was wanted. Needed. Somebody was calling to her. Was it Sesshomaru?
Just then, a car stopped by her, and she looked over shocked. A Limmo? A car window rolled down. It was Inuyasha. "Hey, long time no see!" He said, as if they were old friends. She just stared at him. "Do you need a ride somewhere." She didn't trust him, but it was getting cold, so she accepted. He opened the door for her, and entered the black stretch limmo.
They sat by each other, not speaking for a couple of minutes. "You're still in your maid's clothes?" He noticed. "Yeah. I kind of walked out on Sesshomaru." She said, hiding her tears. "I won't ask you why." He said, sweetly. "He can be an asshole, sometimes."
Inuyasha was acting completely different. She stared at him, blankly. "So where are you going?" He asked. She sighed. Should she go home? But what would she tell her mother? "How about you come with me?" He asked. She didn't know what to say. "C-Come with you where?" She asked.
"It's up to you." He said, placing a hand on her shoulder. She didn't look up at him. "We could go to a hotel." He said, more menacingly, as he let his hand fall onto her leg. She felt something shoot through her. "Let me out of this car!" She screamed, slapping his face.
She studied the red mark on his face. He began glaring at her angrily. "Little girl." He hissed. "You have no idea who you just hit!" She backed away frightened. She then noticed they were going by Sesshomaru's large house. "P-Please let me off here. I'm sorry!" She cried.
Inuyasha signaled for the driver to continue. "I'm sure…" Kagome began bravely, "That you wife, Kikyou wouldn't like your hitting on me." He just blinked at her. He put on a face that she was crazy, but then told the driver to stop. She slammed the car door, and ran to Sesshomaru's front door.
Inuyasha drove off in a fury, and she began to knock on Sesshomaru's door. The door opened, and she stared back at a worried looking Sesshomaru. "Come in." He said, annoyed. She did. "I would like to call my mother." She said, "That's all." "Stop being stupid." He snapped.
She didn't say anything. "What happened to you?" He asked, he now turned to her, and she saw for the first time emotion flickering in those beautiful eyes of his. "N-Nothing." She said. "Don't lie. I can sense when my mate is frightened." She looked down.
"Inuyasha gave me a ride her and…" She couldn't continue. "That bastard! Did he touch you!" Sesshomaru growled. Kagome stared up at him. "He almost didn't let me leave the car." She said, shakily. "I had to threaten to tell his wife." She added. Sesshomaru embraced her. "Don't ever take a ride from that pervert again." He said.
She hadn't came out and said that Inuyasha had hurt her or touched her, but he sensed it. Just the thought of his disgusting brother's hands on his mate made him want to strangle the runt. Kagome was now hugging him back. "I won't." She said.
He then realized he was doing what she had been. Hugging her. He pulled away, but she was holding onto him tighter. She had longed for this moment. She reached out. "Please…" She said softly, but he turned away.
"Did you hear my call?" He asked her. She didn't know what to say. Then she remembered. She nodded at him. "That was you!" She said, "I heard you. He nodded at her. "We can sense each other. Because you've bonded with an inuyukai, you've gotten part of me. You can feel my presence, and you can tell if I'm in trouble, or if I need you."
She finally understood. She nodded, again. She didn't know how else to respond. "Can you not see on your own that I love you?" He asked. She smiled up at him. So it was true. "Thank you." Was all she said.
He seemed embarrassed, and walked to his room, while she continued to clean.
