The Other Way Around

It was happening again.


Kagome watched as Inuyasha kissed Kikyou, but strangely, she did not feel hurt or betrayal or despair or even anger as she usually would have felt. No, she was just disgusted Inuyasha could stand to kiss a dead woman; a woman that also wanted to kill him.


Calmly and silently, she turned her back on the couple who had now become more intimate in their exchange. She fingered a pendent that hung around her neck as she strode through the forest. The necklace had been given to her by her dearest friend; a friend that she had secretly been seeing for months every so often. He helped her ease her tears over Inuyasha and then most of the rest of the night they would talk about anything and everything until morning.


She halted her walk when she came to a clearing. He would be here soon; he always did when she called through the pendent. After a few minutes, she felt his usual youki approaching at an inhuman speed.


Here he comes.


On cue to her thoughts, he appeared three feet away from her suddenly and eyed her with concern and disgust.

Disgust?


What was he disgusted about? Did she look funny or offending? His velvety smooth voice broke her out of her thoughts somewhat.


"He did it again, didn't he?"


She nodded, not saying a word as her thoughts once again strayed to the emotion that had plagued her before.


He scoffed and continued. "Stupid hanyou, he would rut with a corpse. Disgusting and disgraceful."


Ah. That would be where the disgusted look came from.


He gracefully walked over to her and gently pulled her into his warm embrace. "Are you all right?" his tone sounded worried.


"Hai" came her muffled response.


"Do you still love him?" he asked very softly; he almost sounded unsure of himself and seemed fearful of her answer.


She looked up at him in confusion, but shook her head all the same "Iie, it's more of a brotherly type love. Why do you ask? And who said I was in love with him in the first place?"


He raised a delicate eyebrow at her. "You did. Is you memory that bad? Fine I will refresh your memory. I happened across you as you were crying out nonsense that your love had betrayed you for the corpse. Does this ring any bells, dear Kagome?"


She laughed lightly at his use of the phrase she had taught him from the future and playfully swatted his arm. "Did I really say that? I must have been pretty out of it" she grinned up at him "but hey, you never answered my first question. Why *did* you ask?"


He gazed at her and lightly traced his claws over cheek, sending delightful shivers up her spine. Suddenly, he dropped his lips to hers in a light kiss. Before she could act or even kiss him back, he withdrew from the kiss.


"Because I love you Kagome" he whispered "I have for a very long time"


Kagome was too stunned to say anything. She just kind of stared into space for awhile until he started to move away. She caught him and turned him back around to face her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, leaned up and whispered


"I love you too Sesshoumaru."


He closed the distance between them and kissed her again; this time deeper and with her returning the kiss. She realized that it was true that she loved him. That's why I didn't feel hurt or betrayed when I saw Inuyasha and Kikyou together. Because I love Sesshoumaru!


She opened her mouth and he immediately took advantage of it. His tongue invaded her mouth as if searching for treasures. She was shy at first but then returned the gesture fully.


That was how Inuyasha found them.

Inuyasha had finished with Kikyou quickly when he smelt Kagome nearby. It puzzled him as to why he didn't smell tears or see any indication that she had run blindly away like normal.


He left Kikyou and ran to the well, only to find that her scent did not even go towards the well. He followed her scent more precisely and found it going deep into the woods. When he finally found her, he was beyond shocked.


There she stood; arms wrapped around Sesshoumaru's neck, while he had his arms wrapped around her waist. And they were both KISSING!


Hurt and jealousy rose up in his chest and his blood boiled. That bitch! Of all the people that she could betray him with, his bastard half-brother! How could she be disloyal?! Was it something he had done?


(AN: *rolls eyes* man, Inu-boy can be so stupid sometimes, right?)


A growl spilled forth and he watched as the couple stiffened and turn in the direction of the animalistic sound. Sesshoumaru's eyes narrowed as he caught sight of the intruder.


"Inuyasha"


"Sesshoumaru"


Inuyasha growled fiercely at his brother "what the hell were you doing?! Get the hell away from my…er...shard detector!"


Sesshoumaru's golden orbs started to glow with hatred at that statement. Inuyasha could also feel the irritation and anger coming off of Kagome now. Sesshoumaru opened his mouth to retort, but Kagome beat him to the punch.


"Shard detector?" she breathed. Her voice was surprisingly calm, but very deadly and chilling.


Inuyasha gulped and involuntarily took a step backwards. This was not going to be pretty.


"Is that all I am to you Inuyasha? Well I'm sick of it! My name is Kagome, remember? Ka-go-me! Not wench, bitch, girl, shard detector, miko or anything you can ever come up with!! OSUWARI!!!"


Inuyasha face planted into the ground. Kagome left Sesshoumaru's embrace and walked/stomped over to the groaning body heap that was Inuyasha.


"Oh, and another thing. Why do you even care about me and Sesshoumaru if you already have Kikyou? I mean, you were just over there proclaiming your love for her and denying even friendship with me and then rutted with that corpse bitch! And plus I think she could also serve as a shard detector."


Inuyasha started to protest and shakily trying to rise to his feet but he failed, courtesy of Kagome.


"Osuwari!"


Sesshoumaru came up behind her and put his arm around her shoulder while glaring at his half-brother. "Hanyou, you are truly stupid. You have lost the most precious thing you could ever hope to have. Kagome is mine now. You lost your chance, deal with it and go back to your bitch."


Then Sesshoumaru scooped up Kagome in his arms and flew from the clearing and in the direction of his castle; leaving Inuyasha in the dust.

Erm……… ;.yeah, don't kill me! It just popped up in my head the other night. All I wanted was for Inuyasha to see Kagome kissing another instead of her seeing him kiss Kikyou. That's where the title of the story came from and that was the only thing I was gonna do for this story. Sorry if you were expecting more.

Oh and by the way, if you guys think Sesshoumaru is OOC and that he says 'i love you' like out of nowhere, keep in mind that i made it to where Kagome and Sesshoumaru have been friends for a while...without Inuyasha's consent. So Sesshoumaru fell in love and has been in love with her for awhile; and tonight he was just confessing his feelings. Does that make it any better?

But anyway, on a happier note, what did you guys think? Was it really all that good like my friends were saying, or were they just saying that? Well REVIEW and tell me for goodness sake!!! I wanna know!

Oh and tell me if maybe I should continue it or something…I don't know, it's almost like this should be a story the way I left the ending…what do y'all think?
