The next day passed way to quickly for Kagome. It had been a little on the stressful side actually. Sango, Koga, and Kaede had all been extremely nice to her today. The word of her and Sango's make up had spread like wild fire. Also the fact that Kagome had said she was going to stop pushing people away.

Koga had also been even more flirtatious than usual. Kagome had kept him at bay with Sango's help though.

After cleaning up she headed home to get ready for the club that night. She was still a little reluctant to go, but her promise to Sango prevented her from backing out. Kagome was the type of person that stuck with her word. No matter what!

Sango had told her that her boyfriend, Miroku, was going to go with them. He was supposed to be bringing a friend of his. Kagome didn't like the idea of going with two people she didn't really know. She had met Miroku once, but after he had lavishly groped her she had prevented it from happening again.

As she walked through the door she set her keys on a small round table by the door frame. Walking into the kitchen she placed her purse on the counter then proceeded to the bedroom. Sango had said she would pick her up at 8. They had all decided to car-pool to save money on gas.

Kagome walked into the adjoined bathroom. Placing her hands on the counter she leaned forward and looked at herself in the mirror. She hadn't realized until know how pail her skin looked compared to what it had been two years previous. Her face had lost its sparkling glow. Her youthful innocence had been stripped from her, leaving a disheveled, hard women. As she looked at herself she determined the thing that had changed the least had to be her eyes. They still held a playfully commanding appeal. They sparkled with her emotions. They were the only things that didn't look like stone.

Leaning back with a sigh she started getting a hot shower ready. She had two hours to fix herself up for the club, and she planned on using the whole two hours. Through the day she had decided that she was really going to try and go back to what she had been, the happy, carefree Kagome. She wasn't quite sure if she had the strength to do it alone, but she was bound and determined to try.

Another thing about Kagome was that once she made up her mind only the hands of god could make her stray from her decision. She took a log shower letting the hot water role down her back, soothing her muscles.

Getting out of the shower she rapped a towel around herself and went to her closet. Picking out a pair of faded pants and a “v” cut black tank she went back into the bathroom. Once she had dried off and put on the clothes she brushed the tangles out of her hair, then blow dried it.

She was undecided on how to do her hair. For work she would usually ware it in a ponytail to keep it out of her way and out of the customers food. She decided on curling it in light spiral curls… pinning part of it back to fall down past her slim waist.

By the time she had put on her make-up and double checked herself in the mirror Sango was due in less than 20 minutes. She didn't feel like toting around a purse so she had decided to place her keys in her back pocket and her money in her front pocket. She was not new to the clubbing business. She knew that people would take advantage of anything even halfway sticking out of your pockets. When she had lived in Texas her and a few friends hand known the bouncer who had let them in to quiet a few times at the local club. In Tokyo the age limit to go to clubs was not as high, so she didn't have any problems.

Finding herself ready she sat on her sofa and waited.

Maybe going to this club isn't such a bad idea. Sango was right when she said I needed to move on. I do miss going to parties and having fun…but am I betraying mom?

A small voice in her head chimed in.

`Mom would want you to have fun and move one. She always worried about your happiness. You would be dishonoring her if you DIDN'T go out and have fun.'

A small frown spread over her lips as she sat there. The lights in the house were almost all out, except for the lamp by the sofa. It gave a haunted feeling to the room as she sat there in silence, pondering the little voice.

Would she really? She did always worry about me having fun and living my life to its fullest. Wait a minute… who the heck are you??

`I'm you silly!'

You cant be me…I'm me!

`Stop and think for a minute. I know your not THAT dense.'

What are you talking about?! Oh…you're my conscience?

`Ding, ding, ding… We Have A Winner!'

Ok, the sarcasm isn't necessary.

`Pfffttt…would you be a little sarcastic if you were me?'

No… I would be a good conscience and help me.

`Sorry girl, your not that lucky.'

Thanks a lot. How do I get rid of you?

`You tell me, after all I am you… you know.'

Boy you are helpful.

`That's what I'm here for sweetie.'

Kagome was saved from coming up with a retort when she herd the door bell ring. Standing up she walked over to the front door and opened it. Miroku smirked at her from his spot on the front porch. Rolling her eyes she went and turned off the light before locking and leaving the house.

“Where is Sango?”

“In the car.”

Miroku tried to `help' Kagome to the car with a well placed hand on her lower back, but she wasn't falling for it and shoved his hand aside.

“I think I can manage the short walk, thank you. Plus shouldn't you be worried about Sango seeing you?”

Miroku put his discarded hand up to his chest, his face one of pained innocence. “You wound me Kagome!”

“I would have wounded you more if you had touched me.”

Looking for a way to ignore that comment along with the one about Sango seeing him he ran ahead and politely opened the door for her. Kagome slid into the back seat keeping her eyes on his wondering hands.

Once in the car Kagome quickly noticed Sango staring at her. Looking to the front seat she met the seemingly shocked gaze.

“Is there something wrong?”

Sango quickly put her glance in check with a happy reply. “You look absolutely great Kagome! I haven't seen you look so good in the whole two years I have known you. It's almost as if you are…happier.”

Kagome felt a small blush going up her cheeks. “I was just thinking about what you said, and decided that you were right. So I am going to try and actually have fun tonight.”

Sango turned back around, the smile still firmly plastered on her face. Miroku got into the passenger seat and they headed off.

“Where is that friend of yours Miroku?”

He turned his head back to stare at Kagome. “We are going to pick him up. He, conveniently enough, lives only a few blocks from here.”

They went down a street near Kagome's house and stopped in front of a duplex. In the left drive way was a little red Mustang. “Is that his car?”

“Sure is.”

Kagome looked at Miroku quizzically. “Why is he living in a duplex if he owns a Mustang?”

With a slight laugh Miroku shook his head. “For one, he doesn't like showing off his money too much. Also he rents out the other side of the duplex to get more money.”

Kagome nodded at the sensibility of it all.

“Kagome why don't you go get him?”

With wide eyes she looked up at Miroku again. “What? Why don't you go get him?”

His well placed smile faltered slightly. “Well, lets just say that his willingness to come was at my expense.”

A snort came from Kagome. Sounds like my position. “Well why don't you go get him Sango? You know him better than I do.” She looked at the girl in question.

Sango fidgeted with her hands on the steering wheel. “Well when Miroku was `convincing' Inuyasha to come I sort of stepped in to help and it didn't turn out to well.”

Kagome looked at the two incredulously. “The way you two are talking I would half guess you blackmailed him into going with us.”

The pause that fallowed was enough of an answer for Kagome. Stepping out of the car to get away from the two devils in the car she walked up to the side of the duplex with the Mustang. Taking a deep breath she knocked on the door.

Kagome herd some movement inside and waited patiently for the door to open. Once it did she nearly fell back with what greeted her.

It wasn't that the image in the door frame was ugly, far from it in fact. There in front of her was a silver haired, golden eyed god. At least that's the way Kagome had percepted it. His waist length hair was pulled back in a low ponytail. He was clad in faded wholly jeans and a black punk shirt. The think that caught Kagome so off guard was the way he was staring at her. His eyes were piercingly thorough in his overall examination of her.

When he spoke she was hard pressed to not fall to the ground with how weak her knees had so suddenly become. “What do you want wench?”

When the word wench had slipped past his smooth lips she had snapped back to life. “Miroku told me to come get you, you are Inuyasha aren't you?”

The only response she got was a gruff “Kehh”. He shut the door on his way out and quickly walked past her. Kagome slowly fallowed him to the car. Once there he opened the door and moved to slide inside, stalling he looked back at her. Seeming to make a quick decision he backed up and held the door open for her.

When she didn't move to get in he let a small sigh escape. “Well are we going to stand here all night… Wench?”

Kagome looked at him closely, his eyes seemed to be laughing at her while the rest of his face contradicted that and looked annoyed. “Ummm…sorry.”

She quickly got into the car, scooting over to the far side. Once Inuyasha had gotten in and shut the door Miroku turned in his seat to look at the two.

“You guys ready?”

Inuyasha huffily crossed his arms over his chest and glared out of the window. “Whatever lecher.”

This is going to be a very long evening.

`Yes, but you get to spend it with the sexy piece of meet beside you!'

Oh goody… your back again.
`I was always here darling…'

This really IS going to be a long night.
