Chapter 6
“It’s a good saddle” Souta said truthfully. He and Shippo decided that if they were to go travelling west, they need full pockets. The saddle looked in good value and Souta had a talent to see how much some items were worth. The boys decided to sell the saddle to a traveller when they saw a caravan site. Of course, this wasn’t a true traveller. Just one of the growing populations of people making out to be only that they don’t travel like a true gypsy would.
A fat, old geezer inspected the saddle that sat on his lap, a pipe in his mouth. He did look impressed of the leather item. With a nod of satisfaction, he took out his wallet from the back of his jeans and bought out a load of money that to Souta’s eyes was £1000. But what would happen next will frustrate Souta to no ends.
“I give ya £20”
Souta gaped at the man. £20?! The saddle was worth at least £100!
“It’s worth much more.” He tried to plead to the old man. “Hundreds”
The man growled and shoved the money in front of him. “I give ya £20 or I give ya a kick up the arse!”
Well £20 was better than nothing. But still...
Souta reluctantly took the money and stormed out, glaring back at the man when he heard his snicker.
Oh yeah?
While the man continued to laugh and admire the saddle, he failed notice the boy outside the back window taking his blankets on his laundry line and giving him the finger behind his back before making a getaway.

“Mum?! Mum?” Kagome called through the empty halls of the apartment. But no one was there. The teenager was a bit shocked to see the walls of the living taped up or filled in with thick pieces of cloth. Quite a sight it was. Sighing, she made her way outside; unaware that Mrs Poffy just came out of her door. She smirked and approached the raven-haired girl and gave a small cough to get her attention. Said girl spun around only to groan who it was: the least person in the world she wanted to see right now.
“I see your mother has finally paid the price of living in the city”
Kagome made no move, but she was tempting to punch her in the face and break her nose. Mrs Poffy seemed unfazed as she continued.
“It was going to happen sooner or later. No gypsy can live the way I do. I guess none of you understand.” She grinned before going in the lift. Kagome, not wanting to be in the same box as her, took the stairs.
She wanted to find her mother and ask her what happened. Where her brothers have ran off with the horse? When she finally made her way outside, she gazed at the orb around her neck. It was really beautiful, but now and then it would glow depending on her emotions. Was it a mood necklace?

“InuYasha, what went wrong?” Chikako demanded.
“At first I thought it was the horse the scale reacted to, only it started to burn again when the horse wasn’t around. Some sort of orb was tied to its mane, but it isn’t with the horse anymore because the horse was taken by those boys when the scale burned in my shop”.
“Do you know where the orb is now?” The old demoness asked.
InuYasha thought for an answer. He didn’t want to endanger Kagome if she really did have the orb. The youkai were more than likely to kill her, thinking she is part of the ‘pure one’.
Instead he shook his head slightly.
Chikako sighed and leaned back in her chair. “Okay, InuYasha. I want you to keep your senses wide open and seek out this orb”. The hanyou left without a nod or a bow like always.
“While we’re at it, send a squad to look for those traveller boys and our horse”

Michie’s face was pinned to the wall with an arm painfully gripped on her back. She was taken to be interviewed by the Garda police, all of which asking the same questions: where is the horse? Where did the traveller boys go? All Michie had as answer was ‘I don’t know’. Of course they didn’t believe her. What was worse was Bradon was leading this investigation. He had the light’s turned off so he thought no one knew they were in there literally shouting and beating Michie a little. He came back into the room. “Let’s try this again”. He was about to take his coat off when all of a sudden light came behind them. The door had opened and in came the Chief and his second best trailing behind. The Chief was old but not rough looking. His eyes were calm but also contained the look of old age maturity.
Bradon backed away as the Chief approached Michie, who was still pinned to the wall by the two officers. He asked in a calm but slightly kind voice;
“Will you answer truthfully?” Michie slowly nodded her head and the Chief continued. “Do you know where the boys and horse are going?”
Michie shook her head, whispering “I swear I don’t know where they are. I don’t know”
The Chief nodded but added, “Well don’t worry your horse is easily spotted”. He turned to his partner who came in with him. “Take her statement, then let her go” and with that he left the room, not before turning the lights back on, giving Bradon a suspicious look as to why they were off. The two officers that held Michie let go, only to have a pen literally shoved in front of her face by Bradon.
“Sign it” was all he said. She looked towards the table where a piece of paper awaited for her signature.
“What is it?” she asked.
“It’s a consent to sign over the horse” he forced the pen in her hand. “Sign”
Michie stared at it before mumbling something unaudio.
“What?” Bradon snapped.
“I said I can’t write”
Bradon smirked before replying “An X will do. Sign it”
Michie gave him a look. “You’re making my boys as thieves?”
“They are bloody thieves” Bradon has lost his patience. He grabbed her hand with the pen and forced her to write an X. With that done, she was free to go.

“G-5, G-5. No sightings today of boys or horse. They must be out of the area by now. Request to relocate.”
These were the words Michie heard over and over as she passed the police patrols. Clearly her sons have left Dublin by now. She walked down the street through the light rain, a cigarette in her mouth and a coat with no hood. This all happened because she didn’t care enough for her children after her husband died. When he died, she was so grief stricken she found the best way to calm her grief was to drink.
No. She won’t blame herself...yet. She went to search for her father-in-law.

Souta ran towards the train where he and his brother hid the horse, in a large container box. The train was actually a supply train going towards the western sea.
He climbed through the small door that could be a large cat flap to them. He shoved the blue plastic filled with food and water bottles before climbing in himself.
Shippo eagerly looked through the contents. “Did you get the chocolate biscuits?”
“Yes?”
“I only like the chocolate ones.”
“I know, I got an apple for Tir-na-nóg as well”. Souta closed the door and picked up the bag.
“We are going?” Shippo asked.
“To the west”. Then Souta grinned, dropping the bag, shouting lightly. “THE WILD WEST!”
Shippo smiled widely, throwing his arms in the air screaming “YES!” before they both fell over as the train jolted suddenly and drove to the west.
