Miroku and Emily

(Sorry this chapter took so frickin' long guys, it's just hard because I don't know much about Miroku and honestly I don't know much about Emily. She's one of my newest friends and she doesn't talk much so it's sort of hard to get her sometimes. She's a loner by nature for sure so it's difficult to tap into her feelings to write this story… So, um, read now.)

Emily was lounging back on the glass doors by herself thinking when the boy walked up to her. He was the boy who had rosary beads hanging out of his pocket, the one that was wearing a cameo shirt that read "You can't see me". He was the boy who she had seen checking out all the girls when they walked in, and most importantly, he was the boy because, despite how cute he was, Emily had no clue as to what his real name was. The boy. He walked up to her casually and looked her up and down, which unnerved Emily a bit.

"Hi," he said, grinning widely, "I'm Miroku." He was the boy named Miroku now. She liked him better when he didn't talk (or stare at her so weirdly). He had a nice voice, but sooner or later she was sure his mouth would screw everything up. She didn't respond in words, but gave a sort of partial wave with three fingers.

"You know, you are the sexiest thing I have ever seen," he began. `Yup, he's screwed over,' Emily thought, `and horny, or drunk, or both.' She gave him the finger but he sat down next to her. She wanted to hit him, but she couldn't help herself from getting goose bumps all over with no clue as to why.

"Wanna make out?" Miroku asked hopefully. `Ok,' Emily mind told her, `now you can hit him.' She punched him, hard, right in the middle of his chest. He waited until he was breathing normally, and when he was he tracked him down again. She had moved outside after she hit him, and was now watching the moon. She sit a few feet away from her, staring, and when she looked he simpered.

"I deserved that. I'm used to it. You hit pretty hard though, you should go out for a boxing team or something…" Miroku began. `Shit, shit, shit,' he thought, `I'm babbling damn it… There's something about this girl. She seems cold, not evil cold, but… lonely…' He moved in closer.

"I'm a monk, you know. In training. It's pretty cool."

"Sounds… interesting," Emily lied. She wanted to watch the moon, not listen to this monk in training babble like a fool, especially when this monk in training made her feel so strange inside…

"Since I'm a monk, I know a lot about people. It can feel them, you know?"

"You try and `feel' me, I'll rip off your head," Emily snarled. This guy was a pervert…

"That's not what a might!" he said, scooting back to his original spot, "I meant, I can feel inside of them…" He heard Emily growl. "Inside like what they're feeling. You're lonely. I know you are." This guy- Miroku… was that his name?- he was good. Then again, everyone said she looked lonely, but this guy, he really meant it. It was like he felt her from the inside, just the way he said it. Emily didn't seem to mind when he came closer this time. Pretty soon she was lying down on the sidewalk with her head I his lap. They were watching the moon.

"It's so elegant up there," Miroku said, "Shining so brightly."

"It must be lonely too," Emily whispered. "You know, Miroku, up there, on the moon, there's a castle. Can you see it? It's gray." He looked closer.

"Oh! I see it! It looks beautiful! It's a castle big enough for a queen and a king and a whole royal family!" he exclaimed, running his hand through her bleached hair. "We should go there…" she murmured.

"Where? To the moon?" Emily asked, turning to look him in the face.

"Not just the moon. The castle. We could go there, and live there, and we'll never be lonely again." Emily smiled at the thought and echoed, "Never lonely again…"
