AN: Well I guess even if the feedback wasn't much I still put up the next chapter cause I just got an hit of inspiration. For those of you who are waiting for Varsity Drama will have to wait just a little more because I'm almost done with both chapters 12 and 13 I will put them up soon. Anyways on with the fic.
A start...Chapter 3
Kagome woke to find that she was in a large room, the room was painted a honey moon color, she then noticed the furniture and concluded that this was to be her bedroom from the rest of her stay at the palace. She wondered when she got to bed, to her memory she was standing next to Inu-yasha, the king of the land she was currently on. She sat and looked down at the gold colored covers.
"How did I get to this? I was so angry with mama before I left, I didn't even say good-bye to father or anyone else, and I was in such a hurry that." She closed her eyes.
It was true that she wished she was different like the others, but she also knew just how much her clan hoped on her, the truth of the matter was she was afraid that she would fail them, now the more she thought about it the more she felt like crying, last night she seemed so confident yet now she felt like breaking down. Kagome threw back the covers and walked towards where the breeze was slowly coming in. She stepped towards the balcony and her breath caught in her thought.
The beautiful gold surrounded her; her vision could only see the sand as the breeze took it in to the air. The orange and gold rays slowly rising to what would be the sun.
"This land...it's beautiful," she said.
"In deed" said another voice cracking into her trance.
She turned to be face to face with the supposed servant. She stood in a pink dress that covered her whole body, but was quite sheer, the dress clung around her hip before falling to the ground, on her was beautiful jewelry, she couldn't be a servant.
"It was you who gave me that sleeping potion," stated Kagome.
Sango smiled and nodded. "Yes I did and I do apologize for that, it's just that was my duty" stated Sango.
Kagome nodded.
"I have brought you some clothing other then your nightgown, the weather here is very different from what you are use to, if you want to keep that skin of yours nice and pale like it is, then you should probably get into these" said Sango putting down a set of clothing.
Kagome walked over to her and held up the cloth that she had just placed on the bed. She held up the white sheer dress.
"Can't I just wear my normal priestess clothing?" asked Kagome.
Sango chuckled. "I think that dress will look very suiting on you, and I don't want you to damage your skin when you step out of the castle, we will stay at the castle for two weeks to do research, and then we will head out" she said.
"Wait head out?" asked Kagome.
Sango nodded.
"Can you explain to me what do you mean?" asked Kagome.
"You didn't think that we would stay here did you?" asked Sango.
Kagome nodded.
Sango smiled. "The ritual will have to be done at a certain place and time, and until we find out when, you don't have to worry about going out. With Inu-yasha and Miroku working on that you won't probably have to worry about that for a while" said Sango with a wink.
Kagome smiled and nodded. "Do you work here?" asked Kagome.
"I'm so sorry where have my manners gone? I'm Sango. I am a warrior for the Kin kingdom, I am one of the lieutenant of the army" she said.
"I am Kagome Higurashi, I am from the Higurashi clan," she said.
"Yes the monk told me," said Sango.
"Oh has he?" asked Kagome.
Sango chuckled. "I have also brought you some jewels, Inu-yasha wants you to feel comfortable, we really didn't mean to kidnapped you" said Sango.
"I understand and I will help you," said Kagome.
"It's very kind of you to help not knowing what your up against" said Sango.
Kagome smiled as she thought back to her visions. "No I think I know a little of what I might be up against, but I still want to help, not only for the people, but also for reasons of my own" said Kagome.
Sango nodded.
"May I ask why you call Lord Inu-yasha just Inu-yasha?" asked Kagome.
Sango laughed lightly. "Inu-yasha and I were childhood friends, the social classes never did bother us, and other then that he doesn't like to be called with formality but puts up with it to keep authority" said Sango.
"What an Interesting man" said Kagome.
Sango smiled. "Yes an interesting something he is" she said.
Kagome saw the mysterious glint in her eyes. *Is he ugly looking? I mean that couldn't be it, he seem handsome with his eyes* Kagome thought.
"I shall help you to dress," said Sango breaking her thought.
"Do you think because I come from a noble family I can't dress myself?" asked Kagome quietly.
Sango's eyes widen then she smiled. "I suppose that's how you seem to us, the outlanders are very different from us" said Sango.
"Not as different as you make us to be" said Kagome.
"I suppose your right," said Sango.
Kagome finished unbuttoning her dress and pulled on the white dress. "This material is so comfortable," said Kagome.
"They are made for comfort," stated Sango.
Kagome nodded as she Sango tied the crisis cross back together. Kagome looked at herself and smiled, she looked like she was one of the Greeks that she had read about in their library only with dark hair. Sango then held out the disk like earrings with jewels implanted in them and hanging from the end of the disk (Think chandelier earrings.)
"These are beautiful," said Kagome.
"Yes these are the sort of jewels that our people wears," said Sango.
"Why does my dress have a hood with it?" asked Kagome.
"For when you need to step outside," said Sango.
Kagome nodded as she looked at herself.
"Strange how you look like one of us now" said Sango.
Kagome looked down at her hands. "May I speak with Miroku?" asked Kagome.
Sango nodded. "Follow me, he and Inu-yasha awaits you" said Sango.
Kagome nodded as she followed Sango.
Kagome had to awe at the beauty of the castle. The halls all held small elegantly constructed chandeliers and paintings, the floor a blue marble, the smell of flowers. They made their way into the dinning hall where Inu-yasha and Miroku sat talking. Inu-yasha heard the small foot step of his new guest. He looked towards them, his jaws almost falling to the ground as she walked towards them quietly. The sheer white gown clinging to her body, her hips round and smooth, her hair was done up nicely with the gold hair ornaments, on her ears and neck graced the similar jewels of his people, it was as if she had suddenly become one of them. He nodded towards her, his face still covered. Miroku smiled and looked towards the two.
"Good morning Kagome how are you feeling?" asked Miroku.
Kagome smiled. "Very good Miroku thank you, what about you Lord Inu-yasha?" asked Kagome.
Inu-yasha looked towards her. "Fine" he stated.
Kagome sat to the right of Inu-yasha with Sango next to her.
"Miroku I would like to know what rituals will have to be performed" said Kagome.
"Well Kagome I can tell you that it is nothing that you have to worry about, you just have to be there and lend me your power for a bit" stated Miroku.
"I don't care if I lend a nail I want to know what I will be doing do you understand Miroku?" asked Kagome.
Miroku gulped and nodded.
"So Lord Inu-yasha will you be showing me around?" asked Kagome wondering if she could have him talk to her.
"I'm afraid not, Sango will show you around" said Inu-yasha trying to look down at his breakfast then looking at her.The most unnerving thing about her was the fact that she was causing such awareness with in him. He stood quietly. "I will see all of you later, Miroku" he said looking at the monk who seemed to be playing footsie with an irritated Sango.
"Yes of course" he stated with a wide grin.
Kagome looked up at him. Why did he keep running off like that? She want to talk to him, hell he could show a little bit more hospitality towards someone who was willing to lose her life for his damn people. Kagome glared as he walked away.
"Kagome is something wrong?" asked Sango.
"No I'm just not feeling hungry it's alright to look around?" asked Kagome.
"Yes it is" said Sango.
"Well then see you guys later!" said Kagome running off towards the direction that Inu-yasha went.
"I wonder what's gotten into her," said Miroku.
"Are you stupid all the time or do you just do it annoy people?" asked Sango.
Miroku just smiled and looked at her. "You know you're very beautiful when you're hostile" said Miroku.
Sango groaned and stood to leave.
This morning wasn't going at all to plan.
Kagome walked about the palace, having lost the king of the land, she occupied herself with finding something to do, it was stranger how that now she wasn't home, she didn't have to do her usual routines of chants and prayers yet she missed doing them. She sighed.
"This is hopeless," she stated as she walked into a large study.
"I could sit and chant some spells, not to get rusty," she said as she sat down on the chair and started to make bunnies and flowers with the techno-colored balls of energy.
"Interesting how a priestess entertains herself", stated a voice. She turned to face a man with dark hair and he was tanned like the rest of them, well except Sango and Inu-yasha.
"Who are you?" asked Kagome.
"I am the one they call Onigumo," he said with a cocky smile.
Kagome nodded, something about him just sort of bothered her.
"I was just doing some simple chants to keep myself busy that's all" she said.
"I see that they keep the best looking priestess locked up where no man can look upon them," he stated.
Kagome gave a small nervous smile. "That isn't true," she said.
"Oh but it is" he said.
*Please gods what's with this crazy guy?* thought Kagome.
"Onigumo shouldn't you be at your post right now?" cut in the same voice she suddenly found herself attached too.
"Lord Inu-yasha" he said.
Inu-yasha narrowed his eyes on the man before him and then at Kagome who sat watching them.
"I suggest that you take your leave" said Inu-yasha stepping in front of him.
"As you wish, I will see you around my Lady" he said.
Inu-yasha watched him leave, he waited a good minute before he looked at Kagome.
"You should probably stay away from him" stated Inu-yasha.
Kagome looked at him. "Explain to me why" said Kagome.
"He isn't the best company to seek" said Inu-yasha.
"And I suppose you are" she said; she didn't understand why she was feeling angry all of a sudden.
"I didn't say that" said Inu-yasha.
"Well you might as well have, I didn't see anything wrong with talking to people around here, not unless of course you think that I'm not good enough" she said now standing facing him.
"I thought nobles like you were suppose to be lady like!" said Inu-yasha.
She didn't know what came over her but she just let her action speak for her as her hand flew across his cheek knocking the cloth covering his face off. She gasped as she took on the handsome face that was hidden by the cloth. Inu-yasha looked down at her surprised as his hand made their way to his cheek, which was slowly turning red.
"I'm sorry" she said and was about to run out the room when Inu-yasha grabbed her wrist and pulled her towards him.
"You have a lot of guts to do something like that" he said.
She looked up at his golden eyes; their eyes met it was duel of gray blue vs. golden.
"You make me angry" she whispered.
He pulled her close enough that they were sharing the same breath.
"Well you irritate me" said Inu-yasha.
"Then I suppose that we are on the same mutual level" she said.
He wanted to capture those lips; it was as if his desire for them just sort of flared up, he noted that she was beautiful, but didn't think she would be this beautiful. Kagome found herself breathless, he would be her first kiss; that's if he kissed her of course. Inu-yasha was just closing in when in the distance he heard voices. He set her aside, and covered his face once more. She wondered if he was playing around from the start so he could see her weakness. Inu-yasha smiled behind the covering and watched as her face changed with expressions.
"I guess your right we are in the same mutual level" he said as he walked out of the room.
She sat down hastily and just glared at the ground.
"Now that isn't a face that is suppose to be on you" came Miroku's voice.
Kagome looked up so fast that her eyes hurt. Miroku and Sango came in with a smile, well Miroku did Sango just sort of scowled at Miroku. Kagome let lose a small smile.
*He didn't want to be seen, yeah that's it* she thought.
Sango looked at Kagome's flushed face. "Are you falling ill?" she asked.
Kagome shook her head "no I'm fine!" she said before she was off again.
Sango looked towards Miroku who just shrugged.
Inu-yasha stood on the balcony to his room and watched the morning sun. In the desert the sun and the sand was its main attraction, the things that pulled people into it's arms and make them never leave. He smiled at the look on Kagome's face when she was in his arms. Suddenly it felt good to be close to her, a new need was starting to grown with in him; a part of him liked it while the other didn't quite so much.
"I have a duty" he said.
A duty that doesn't leave time for making mistakes, and pleasure. He shook his head. Those eyes so much like an ocean reflecting the color of the clouds they seemed like the desert and its beauty pulling others into her arms and those who walk in can never return the same, or return at all. Her lips so full and perfect and a juicy pink.
"Damn it!" he exclaimed.
The night before was hell for him, he was speaking with her and she decides that she was going to fall asleep and make him take her to her new room. The picture of her sleeping still imprinted in the back of his mind refusing to leave. Inu-yasha looked down at the garden, which was right below; they had priest of their own who chanted a barrier around the plants to protect them from the blazing sun. There was a figure rushing fast into the garden before she came into view. Inu-yasha cursed his luck, just when he thought he over came the feeling she appears again to tempt him. He watched as she sat down on the stone bench and gasped for air. She looked as if she was running for her life.
"Damn him!" she exclaimed.
He found himself smile; so he wasn't the only one feeling irritation after burned.
