Inside sesshomaru's bedchamber

Inu-yasha waited until he no longer heard kagomes' footsteps before speaking.

" So you were visited also" he questioned

" Are you saying that you experienced a similar encounter?" Sess. Countered

" Cut the run around, sess. Did you or didn't you?" inu said dryly

" Very well, yes."

" Mine came to me in a dream" inu

" As did mine." Sess

" Funny it seemed to end right about the time I heard kagome " sess.

" Mine also seemed to depart upon her arrival" inu

" What did yours want?" inu

" It seemed exceedingly interested in the past."

" Really, like what?" inu inquired

" Nothing that concerns you" sess. Replied in an ` the matter is closed' tone

` Fine, I was only asking sense mine also was interested in the same thing. It is most likely that our encounters were of the same entity."

" Undoubtedly so, though what concerns me more is what part Kagome plays in this."

" How so?" Inu

" Well it has been noted that both of our apparitions left upon her arrival or in your case her sensing them. In addition, it seems that she cannot only sense them she can hear them even when they are speaking in our minds. Clearly she holds some tie in this."

" Then we will have to find out what and cut it, not before finding who's holding the end, of course." Inu grinned, one of his fangs glinting in the light.

" We'll discuss this further tomorrow, now I think it's time we retire."

" Yes, goodnight brother"

Inu started to leave before he was stopped by his brother

" Inu-yasha"

"Yes?" inu asked as he turned his back to his older brother

" Are you still convinced that your decision was the right one?"

" Sometimes I wonder then … I know. I couldn't, not the way I was then do anything other than what I did. Hey, at least it's not final." Inu smiled genuinely

" Very well then, good night brother" sess said returning the smile for a brief minute.

It was the bond that kept them together, the one that would not break. It was in these moments that it was confirmed, not in the eyes of the others to witness but in the quiet, secluded times. It was a bond of true brotherly affection and love that had never been broken no matter the circumstance. Nevertheless, what if the circumstance turns out to be a woman?
