"Is this the place?" A girl around the age of 18 said taking out an address book and looked up the number of a building. She had raven black hair that was just below shoulder length and brilliant blue-gray eyes, she wore a pair of fancy black pants and a dark blue top with long sleeves, and over it she wore a thin black coat that ended around her knees. She then looked at the grimy two story building with fading white walls and dirty dusty windows and grimaced.

"I'm pretty sure it is." A second girl replied looking equally dismayed, she looked to be about a year older then the first. This girl had long dark brown hair that she kept tied back in a pony tail she wore black jeans and a black short sleeved shirt; she had a dark navy blue jacket tied around her waist. "It does say Cimarron Detective Agency on that sign right there." She pointed a finger at a fading white sign with equally fading blue writing.

The first girl stared at the sign for a while before she nodded and put her address book back inside her shoulder bag. "Let's go Sango." She put on her best smile and opened the rusty doors and walked into the musty building.

"The air is terribly thick in here isn't it Kagome?" Sango said looking uncomfortable.

"It does no good to complain if all goes well this will be our new office." Kagome tried to sound cheerful, as she walked to the front desk.

"Welcome to the Cimarron Detective Agency how can I please the crowd today?" A girl said in a bored tone over a fashion magazine, she had two blonde pig tales that curved outward at the shoulder, she wore a fancy striped secretary outfit, her blue eyes lazily scanned the articles for any information, and Kagome guessed that she was about 16 at the youngest.

"Hi my name is Kagome Higurashi and this is my partner Sango Yamagata…" Kagome began before she was interrupted by the girl sitting at the desk.

"You don't mean THE Kagome Higurashi and THE Sango Yamagata? The ones that rounded up a cocaine smuggling industry and also busted those Amazon Monkey traders?" She had was kneeling on the desk on all fours her blue eyes sparkling in excitement her face inches from the startled Kagome and Sango who replied.

"I guess our reputation precedes us huh Kagome?" Kagome nodded dumbly a surprised look still on her face.

"We've been expecting you! My name is Momo!" the girl said brightly as she took Sango and Kagome by the hands and lead them into the back of the building where several other people were working at desks and searching through file cabinets. "Hey everyone this is the Kagome Higurashi and The Sango Yamagata!" She yelled at the group of people, who all stopped what they were doing to find out what all the commotion was about, before returning to work leaving Kagome and Sango to sweat drop comically.

"Some people" Momo snorted, "Oh well on behalf of the group I welcome you to our humble force!" She led the girls over to an empty desk "Here it is! This will be your desk!"

"Where's mine?" Sango said looking around for another available desk.

"You're what?" Momo stared blankly at Sango.

"My desk."

"Oh you share with Ms. Higurashi." Momo smiled and began to walk off, "I'll go inform the head of house that you two have arrived." She cast over her shoulder leaving the two girls looking flabbergasted.

"Well at least we're employed." Kagome said trying to sound happy.

"And we'll be working closer together!" Sango added nodding.

They both sighed before sinking into the two chairs at the desk.

"It's no use." Sango cried.

"It's just not like the force in Cyberun City." Kagome said sadly.

Sango and Kagome threw their arms around each other and Sobbed "We wanna go Hoooome!"

"Ladies." An icy voice addressed the two girls who froze and looked at the source with comical horror stricken faces before backing up and tripping over their shoulder bags. Kagome sat on the floor her hand over her heart as she gasped franticly for breath.

"I hear that you two are the newbie's on the force, and as your boss I have complete control over everything that goes on in this office even when I'm not around comprende?" The woman had sickly white skin and cold black eyes as well as midnight black hair tied harshly back in a bun she wore a tight blue business jacket and an equally tight mini skirt that matched her jacket, their was a white scarf poking out of the neck of her jacket and she stood in a rigid stance as she stared unblinkingly at the two girls. Kagome was the first to get over the initial shock, she jumped up and gave a short quick bow to the lady in front of her.

"It's an honor to meet you. May I ask you your name?" Kagome said politely being careful not to make eye contact.

"You will address me as either Mrs. Uchida or Boss." She stared coldly at Kagome who bowed again lower and ended up hitting her head on the desk with a loud crack.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Mrs. Uchida ur… Boss" Kagome said holding her right hand to her head trying to bring everything back into focus.

"Heh…new blood. This should be interesting." Mrs. Uchida turned and walked back into her office.

"We'll wasn't she just a golden ray of sunshine?" Sango said huffily as she picked herself up off the floor.

"Yes I'd hate to catch her on a bad day." Kagome chuckled. "We should try and get ourselves a case to work on. It's the only way we can finish our mission."
