Right as she grabbed the hem of her shirt to pull it over her head the phone rang. She sighed and answered the phone. Without even so much as a hello the woman on the other end started excitedly explaining her reason for calling. An open house for her brand new business. She droned on and on.

"Oh Miss Rin you must come to the open house. You contributed so much to my new place. I so wish you would come." She said almost breathlessly.

"You know I'd love to come Lady Kaede but I have a… previous engagement." Rin hated lying but sometimes it was the only way to get away with not going to one of her functions. They were often so noisy and always way too crowded.

"Oh Miss Rin you have a date! Who is he dear? Do I know him?" Lady Kaede was also a nosy busybody.

"No, nobody you know Ma'am." She didn't want to make a fuss so she usually just went along with whatever Lady Kaede thought it was. Most often then not she figured it was a date. 'Miss Rin' Didn't date nearly as often as Lady Kaede thought she did.

"Well is he the same guy you went with last time? If he is you should just bring him along. I'd love to meet the boy."

Rin chuckled. "No Lady Kaede. I'm not seeing him anymore. It was just the one date."

"Miss Rin if you don't date anyone more than once you just will never find a man to stay with. You need to date at least three times. What if a bad date was just because of nervousness. Yes you really should date more child."

Rin sighed at this. She hadn't had a date for a long time. She was too busy for that. She was her own boss and until recently she had several clients.

Lady Kaede continued talking and Rin continued to undress. It was still early in the afternoon so she was going to relax. She had already run a bath and was just getting ready for it. Lady Kaede just kept giving her two bits. Rin guessed she should probably pay attention to what she said a little more but she wasn't really interested. She liked her life the way it was. She had a beautiful home. A huge bathroom and an open kitchen and living room. Her place was cozy and comfortable. She didn't need a man to come and mess up her settled life.

Eventually Rin was able to get off the phone and slipped into the still steaming water in her tub. This was her luxury. She worked hard during the day and came home to a hot bath with relaxing oily water to soothe and pamper. This night she thought about the open house. It was the last job she had worked on. It was finally finished and Lady Kaede was opening it to show it off. For some reason she couldn't relax and forget about the invitation to go. She normally didn't go to the open houses of her projects. She didn't like all the attention she would receive for helping to create such places. After a half hour of attempting relaxation she reached for the phone and dialed Lady Kaede's number.

"Yes Lady Kaede? This is Rin. I will be coming to the open house after all. I had a change in plans. Is there anything you would like me to bring?" Rin cringed but waited for the answer anyway.

"Miss Rin I'm so glad. No dear, you don't need to bring anything but yourself. And please. Dress nicely. It's a semi-formal affair." Lady Kaede was brief and soon the connection was broken.

Rin sighed again and was finally able to relax for the rest of her bath.

Dress nicely. Lady Kaede always threw lavish parties. Why should her open house be any different? Rin only had one dress that would work for tonight.
