The Meeting
He pulled his teeth out and ran his tongue roughly across the wound. He savored the last few moments of her blood and marveled at the taste. He watched with a smug grin as the bite was starting to heal itself and he puffed out his chest slightly with pride at the thought of laying a potential claim on his intended. His soon-to-be-mate.There is no escape now wench. You are mine baby. All mine. And I intend to make sure that it will always stay that way.
--------
What in the hells was happening to her! She hadn't even tried to scream yet! He could be tasting her to see if she was good enough to EAT! And yet, she had tried to take hium on by herself. I'm so STUPID! She forced herself to rember what she had learned in school.
Demons did not only live in the forest, but outside of it too. They lived among the humans but usually took no notice of them. Everyone sort of just stuck to their own little group. It was the same in school. Demon were everywhere, sometimes making peace with the few humans that were brave enough to talk to them but sometimes fighting them.
Kagome was one of those people that just hung out with who ever seemed nice. Which happened to be a mix of everyone. And as unatural as everything seemed, humans and demons all had to take the same classes. So when there was a 'Human sex class' there was also a 'Demon mating class'.
The people who where in charge of EVERYONE made sure that it was known, but rarly ever done, for a demon to take a human for a mate. They also made sure that they knew what happend to them when they agreed to a demon. There was no backing out.
There was no divorce that could be placed and there was no leaving your mate. That was why Kagome's Mother had been so afraid when Kagome told her the variety of her friends.
Demons mated for life and the only way out of something so permant was death. ANd no body wanted THAT right?
She mentally shook her head and FORCED herself to rember what one of the topics in Demon mating class was. Oh Yea! They, meaning the Demons, would usually ask the person who they wanted if they were friends. They would ask about their acceptance and ask if that person was attracted to them.
When, and if, the person accepted them as a lover and mate, they would be asked to normally live with them. Then they would be watched closly for two days. If the demon and their to-be-mate hit off then the Demon would proceed to make them, but if they didn't, they were told to leave.
She remembered the way her teacher had talked about all of the marks a demon could leave. She remembered how fondly her teacher had spoke. But the thing that she recalled the most was one of the things her teacher had warned them about. She had said that it was one of the MOST important things that they could ever learn.
Though there were few Dog Demons, they were not to be taken lightly. Dog Demons were BY FAR the MOST possesive Demons that had ever been talked about. When a Demon took a mate they would only let the parents come near there intended, but a Dog Demon would let NO ONE come near. If anyone got to close, they paid with their lives. It was just the naure of the dog. And, this went for all demons, if the Demon just happened to take for a mate a human, well, their protectivness only doubled.
That was why a flash of terror went through Kagome's body. Inuaysha was a Dog Demon and he had just laid a claim on her.
--------
Inuaysha practically purred from satisfaction. He had done it and it was over. The mark had become a scar and would sit there on her pretty little neck. For forever basically.
"Miko? Where do you live?" He asked gruffly. He only got a small shrug.
"I live, well I SHOULD, where I found you. Umm, the last thing I rember was that I was leaning over the well and I saw something white floating and when I touched it, I was, um, here I guess."
He frowned. Time travel? Didn't matter. "Take me back to the well."
"I would, but as it appears I can not get up." She was waiting. She was going to wait untill he got up and then she was going to sit him till he was hundred feet under. But clearly he wasn't as dumb as he looked.
When he stood, he took her with him. At her disbelieving look, he chuckled. He knew what she was going to do and he wan't about to be murdered by his mate. Nope. Not a chance.
----------------------------
They stood before the well and kagome was hoping, no, she was praying that this would also be the way to get back home.
Home. It sounded like a farytale at the moment, a farytale that she couldn't wait to go to.
If the situation had been with anyone other than Inuyasha, she would have been laughing by now. It was just something about him that made her heart flutter and her body want to run.
"Ok, here we are, what do we do?" He asked staring down into the black water of the well.
She was still, much to her displeasure, wrapped tightly within Inuyasha's grasp.
"Well for one, you'd have to put me down," whether he realized it or not, his arms had gripped her tighter when she said that. "Or not.." She muttered darkly. "Just lean over the well and we'll see if we can spot anything.
He seemed to think about it for a moment before he set her feet down on the ground, but he had quickly fastened himself to her back with his arms formed iron bars across her stomach.
She sighed and looked over the well's lip as did Inuyasha. "There it is!" They spoke at the same time. At the moment, Kagome really didn't give the fact that he could also see the gatway to her home much thought.
Inuyasha threaded his fingers through her left hand and reached out to touched the floating ball. As both of their hands grabbed it, Kagome felt all of her weight leave her feet. The only thing she could feel was the wind and Inuyasha's back pressed hot against hers.
Kagome was the first to look up when the blinding blue light had left. It was dark still but the could tell the difference in the forest. The trees seemed older and the well seemed more ragged and worn. And she knew that they had made it home.
--------------
Kagome's Mother still had a death grip on Inuyasha's ears and Grandpa along with Sota were trying to sufficate Kagome.
"Oh sis! When you didn't come out of the forest I thought you were a gonner!" Sota cried from his position against Kagome's leg. Her Grandpa nodded with his arm tightly around Kagome while trying to activate the sutras tha he had held tightly in his hand.
He had already tried to talk Kagome's Mother into getting away from Inuyasha but she was just too fasinated with Inuyasha's ear.
Inuyasha glanced around in a panic type fashion for his mate, which he found was being held hostage by her so called 'family'. Hmp. They were trying to kill her! Just look at the determintion on the little boys face!
Inuyasha had tried to get away from the woman, but she wasn't giving up, and besides, as crazy as she seemed, she really knew how to give a good ear 'rubbin. Now if only he could get his Kagome to do the same...
"Sis!" The little boy finally cried out, more shocked sounding than anything. "Why do you gave bite marks on your neck!" THAT caught the attention of every person in the room.
Her face was beat red and her eyes were wide. Oh crap! What do I do? Mom knows all about the demon mating crap, she went to school at SOME point in her life, so that means...
"Kagome? Are those... a mating mark?" Her Mother was frozed in mid-assault againt Inuyasha's ears which were viciously trying to flick themselves out of her hands.
Oh yea, I'm screwed.
Her Mother turned the the dog demon then back to Kagome. She did that several times before realeasing the small white ears before taking a step towards her mortified daughter. She pushed away the silky black hair and ran her fingers over the marks that Inuyasha's cursed fangs had made.
"My baby's going to be the mate of a Dog Demon. And a Hanyou at that!" When eyes came to question her knowledge she just shrugged and smiled.
Inuyasha growled, now throughly annoyed at the fact that his mate had been out of his arms for entirly much, MUCH too long.
"You don't sound too supprised?" Grandpa questioned the sanity of his daughter.
"Well, it never really supprised me that Kagome would marry, or in this case, mate, someone like Inuyasha. Kagome is just special like that." She smiled and Kagome ducked her head in a guester of thanks towards her Mother for the compliment.
"Hey sis? You ARE still going to go to school, right?" Her little brother asked.
"Of course, I have friends and I have to get an education, I guess Inuyasha will just have to stay-" Inuyasha cut her off with another, louder growl. "Or he could come?" She asked, shooting a hopeful glance in Inuyasha's direction.
"No," His tone was flat and unwavering, but Kagome was stubborn and wouldn't budge untill she got her way. There was no way she was going to drop out and leave all her friends behind just because of some 'dog'. This was something she HAD to put her foot down on, no matter how much she hated school and no matter how hard the wretched thing tried to kill her.
"Can we talk about it later?" Kagome asked, she knew what she was going to have to do, she just didn't want to have an audience watching as she seduced her to-be mate into allowing her to go to school. Wow, never thought it would have to come to this...
Inuyasha was about to say no again when he noticed the way her eyes shined and he did the only thing he COULD do for the moment. He nodded.
She smiled. "Thank you Inuyasha, and now if you all don't mind, I'm going to go take a nice hot bath. Okay?" She asked as she ran out of the room and flew up the stairs. The only sound that she had made it was the soft click of the door closing and the sharp snap when the lock bolted into place.
Inuyasha looked at the faces of his mates 'family' and realized they were all eyeing him, as if they were trying to find a flaw in him.
Kagome's Mother smiled as she snatched up Inuyasha's hand and lead him away from the kitchen, "I think you and I should have a small little chat about my, I'm sorry, OUR dear Kagome.
Inuyasha gulped and looked around wildly for any help. His ear swilved backward as he could've sworn that the little demon of a boy was snickering at him! He listened closly and debated on the quickest way to get out of this womans grasp, but she had already begun to speak.
"Listen, I know that Dog Demons are VERY possesive, but-" She saw the looked on his face and stopped to smile.
"Hey, we arn't that possesive." Inuyasha came to his deffence.
"Oh really, If I told you that Kagome had a boyfriend that she was thinking of marrying, what would you do?" His reaction was something that could be laughed at for generations. "I'm only kidding!" She reasured him as he turned to run up the steps and kick down the door to the bathroom. "She isn't quite that intrested in any of the boys at her school, but I guess you'll find out, huh?"
Inuyasha narrowed his eyes. No one was going to lay a claw on his Kagome. No one.
"Inuyasha, I have a favor to ask of you." Kagome's Mother suddenly sounded very weary and her face was actually starting a few of the wrinkels that had been hidden in the smiles that she had had plastered to her face.
"Yea?" Inuyasha turned his full attention towards the woman that seemed too beat down for her age.
She looked up at him almost in a pleading matter. "Don't take my baby away just yet, please."
Inuyasha was, without a doubt, throughly shocked. He had nothing to say. So once again, he did the only thing he could think of doing, he nodded.
-----
"Ahh, I love baths. They're so relaxing and they just sooth all the muscles," She smiled as she dunked her head, reading herself for a good washing.
