A sound woke Kagome. Someone was rummaging through the place in another room. Kagome stared at Inuyasha beside her and smiled. Recalling the moment just awhile ago, Kagome blushed. The sound came again and Kagome frowned. Pushing out of Inuyasha's arms, Kagome grabbed a robe and stared back at Inuyasha. He whined at the lost of warmth but was still asleep. "I'll be back soon" Kagome whispered, grabbed a rod and tiptoed out of the room.

It was coming from Mrs. Higurashi's room. Kagome was worried for her mother. Opening the door slowly, she saw her mother putting things back into the box. She was crying. "Mama? Why are you crying?" Kagome dropped the rod and strolled over to her mother.

"Huh? Nothing. Can I talk to you for a few minutes, Kagome?"

"Yes, of course."

"I saw you."

"You saw what?"

"Just now, in your room." Mrs. Higurashi commented. A silence followed.

"W-well?" Kagome managed to stutter out while blushing as hard as Inuyasha's fire rat clothes.

"I heard him."

"What?"

"Forever is a long time Kagome. I was just remiscising the time when you were still a little girl. I think it's time to tell you the truth. When you were still an infant, your father was a movie director. He was one of the greatest. I was an extra in one of his films. Once I met him, I knew he was the one. It was love at first sight. After years of courting, he finally proposed to me under the Goshinboku. Then I saw it. His body was bathed in a glow that no normal humans could ever achieve. I was scared, and I ran away. What I didn't know was, your father was the one my heart chose. No one could ever replace him. Months passed and I got seriously love sick. I saw your father in my dreams one night. The next day, he came to visit me. Your father apologised for not telling me the truth. He was a priest with great powers. Powers so great he could defeat any demon. One day I found out I was pregnant. When I gave birth to you, I felt a surge of happiness plus a deep unexplained sadness.That night, he left me. I found two letters by my bed side. One was addressed to me. The other was to you. I read mine but I left yours untouched. Till this day, the seal remained intact. I kept the letters." Mrs. Higurashi stood up and took the letters out.

Kagome frozed after reading the letter. "So... You mean, my meeting Inuyasha wasn't a pure coincidence?" Kagome asked.

"I'm not sure. Why don't you read this letter and find out?" Mrs. Higurashi handed her another letter. It was old and tattered, with yellow stains.

Kagome broke down into tears. "So Inuyasha is just a replacement of Father?" Kagome asked.

"Probably. Your father feels guilty for leaving you. So he left Inuyasha for you. But in order to be with him, you must learn first. Why don't you go to sleep?" Mrs. Higurashi asked.

"Yes, I think I should. Good night, Mama." Kagome kissed Mrs. Higurashi goodnight and went back to her room

Kagome went back to her room to find a very naked hanyou sitting up on the bed, pouting. "Can I help?" Kagome tried to keep her voice as cheerful as possible.

"I heard it. Everything." Inuyasha growled. "You mean, they just tried to control our destinys like that? They think they're fucking kamis or something?" Inuyasha was angry, and Kagome knew it. But the words he said were just too hurtful.

"You-You mean, you regret u-u-us?" Kagome was trembling .

"Fuck no! Why do you always have to rub it in? I'm just angry theat they're fucking messing with us!" Inuyasha yelled.

"Fine! FINE!" Inuyasha yelled. He put on his clothes and ran out of the room. Kagome heard the front door slam. Sinking onto the cooling hotel bed, she cried.

She didn't know that somewhere out there, a certain hanyou was looking at her, ears drooped. Both of them didn't sleep that fateful night.

For the next few days in Singapore, the tension between them was so choking that even Mrs. Higurashi couldn't stand it. On the flight back to Tokyo, Mrs. Higurashi sat between Kagome and Inuyasha. Both were staring away from each other. Mrs. Higurashi sighed and turned her head to talk to Ji-chan behind.

"Alright, I had enough. Spit it out." Sango glared at Inuyasha from her seat. They had returned safely enough. After knocking Shippou on the head to make sure he won't tell anyone what he had sensed out of Kagome's scent, they had been traveling peacefully and unusually quiet. Days passed and Sango got more and more irritated. She took the chance when Kagome was refilling the bottles to question Inuyasha.

Inuyasha looked away, unable to answer her. Minutes ticked pass and he sighed. Finally, Inuyasha stood up and hopped into the nearest trees.

Miroku popped open one eye and sighed."Have you sense anything unusual?" He sat up and shifted closer to Sango.

"Yes of course! Kagome's feeling so upset. She won't even tell me what's going on." Sango cried. She jerked away from Miroku's comforting arm and buried her head in her hands. She was feeling terrible, for her friend. As a friend-cum-sister, Kagome was the only being on Earth that Sango has. At the moment, it seems as though Kagome is ignoring her.

"No. Have you noticed how nice Inuyasha's been to Shippou lately?"

Sango's head popped up, eyes filled with tears of sorrow that's so pain that Miroku flinched. "What do you mean?"

"It almost seems as if Inuyasha owns Shippou something." Miroku rubbed his chin and looked at Sango thoughtfully. "Well, we'll have to find out." Miroku jumped out of his comfortable place and walked towards Kagome sitting lonely by the riverbank. Her usual glint was gone. Her eyes sunken deep in, she looked like she was sick. Suddenly, Kagome's head jerk up, put a hand to her mouth and ran towards the trees, throwing Shippou away in the process.

Miroku heard the sound of Kagome's sick voice. "Go away, Miroku. Go-" Another round of revolting noises. Miroku sighed and sank down by the soft grass. Minutes passed and Kagome came out, face as pale as a ghost.

"Are you alright?" Miroku asked, worriedly.

Kagome managed a weak smile. "Yes." she took a few steps back to the fire. But she fainted.

"Kagome! Kagome?! Oh Kami, are you alright?" Sango's eyes were brimming with tears. Kagome opened her eyes slowly and sat up. She smiled weakly at Sango and glanced around. Without warning, she burst into tears.

How could I be so stupid? Obviously he won't be here. He must be regretting why did he ever met me in the first place. Kagome cried. She snapped at Sango to back off, yelled at Miroku to shut up, and slapped Shippou for trying to climb onto her lap. Oh my god, I've turned into such a terrible woman. Now he won't ever like me.Not now. Kagome's head popped up to find Inuyasha staring at her, hanging upside down.

Kagome screamt and backed off. Inuyasha sighed and dropped off from the tree. "What are you up to wench? You are holding everybody down."

Kagome looked at him,her dried tears stained her cheeks, but new ones forming in her eyes. "So I'm just a burden, you say? Fine! You'll never see me again!" Kagome glared at him one last time before running off towards Sango and grabbing Kirara. Inuyasha looked at her depart and forced his eyes away painfully as she scream into the night.

A loud thud on Inuyasha's head broke through his thoughts. He didn't even flinch. Standing the way he was, Shippou thumped him so many times even his hands were turning red. Inuyasha remained there, staring at the place where Kagome disappeared with Kirara. Finally, Inuyasha's knees gave way and he fainted.

Kagome screamt in pain as her abdomen gave a sickening squeeze. Head leaning out, she was sick again. Suddenly, she felt something wet on her panties. It was slowing dripping down her legs and it stained Kirara's fur. Kagome groaned as she placed a hand under her. Taking it out slowly, the scent of her own blood hit her. Kirara growled and leaped into the night, locating the well and jumping in with her. Surprisingly, both made it through. Kirara let Kagome down slowy and hopped up the well. Kagome could only hope that she knew the place. Seconds ticked past. She felt herself growing weaker by the minute. Finally, Mrs. Higurashi's voice sounded. Smiling sadly, she passed out.

Inuyasha awoke slowly.He was in Kaede-sama's hut. Wincing as his head throbbed, Inuyasha placed a hand to his head.

"I see ye have awaken." Kaede came in with baskets of herbs.

"What the fuck happened?" Inuyasha growled.

"Do not over-exert yourself. You have impregnated Kagome-sama. When did ye join?" Kaede started picking out the herbs. She didn't even spare a glance at Inuyasha. However, her expression was grave.

"Whaaa...?!" Inuyasha bellowed.

"Calm yourself, Inuyasha. When did ye join with Kagome-sama?" Kaede finally looked at him, expression still solemn. Inuyasha looked for weak points to claim that she's joking, but there's none. And then again, when does the old hag ever joke?

"Last week." Inuyasha grumbled, face turning red.

"I see... Isn't that the week after the new moon?" Kaede asked.

"Yes so what?" Inuyasha was turning angry. Why does she have to know and interfere with everything?

"A few things you have to understand, Inuyasha. On the new moon, you'll give birth to a human child. However, the week after the new moon will be the day where you give birth to a half demon." Kaede explained.

Inuyasha sat there, stunned. "Does this affect Kagome?"

"Yes, of course. A child doesn't comes easily. Kagome will experience severe abdomen pains. She might even bleed. But that's only for the first time." By the time she look up, Inuyasha was gone. Smiling to herself, she turned back to her work.

"Is she going to be alright?" Mrs. Higurashi asked worriedly.

"Yes, m'dm. I've given Higurashi-san some pain-killers. I assure you it's going fine." Dr. Jineji assured Mrs. Higurashi. "Besides, Higurashi has a strong personality. She'll live through everything. I've met her before, Mrs. Higurashi. Please, leave this to me."

"KAGOME!!!" Inuyasha jumped through the window and looked down at the unconscious Kagome. Then he looked up, directly at Jineji. "What the fuck...? Jineji? You're still alive?"

Dr. Jineji glared at him for a moment before turning to Mrs. Higurashi. "Do you know Inuyasha?"

Mrs. Higurashi looked stun. "Why, of course...Do you know him?"

"We met 500 years ago." Jineji replied. "I'm a half demon too. I have a concealment charm to seal my demon form. Can I speak to both pof you outside?"

Inuyasha scowled but did follow the doctor outside. "Spit it out."

"Kagome-sama is preg-" Jineji started.

"I fucking know that! So what of it." Inuyasha snarled.

"You mean, you did it on purpose?" Mrs. Higurashi looked anything but happy.

"Fuck no! Some old hag told me after we did... that." Inuyasha looked down.

"Your daughter will be fine. These pains are normal for a first time." He turned to Inuyasha. "I hope you take care of her well. Now that you've mated her, she'll live as long as you. Plus, she'll have some of your powers. It will heal her faster. You will also have her powers. You're now a pure soul. Adding to that, you'll not be able to transform to your demon form anymore." With that, Jineji left.

"Mama..." Kagome moaned inside the room.

Mrs. Higurashi rushed inside. "Yes, sweetheart?"

"What's happening to me? Do I have cancer?" Kagome asked.

"No. You're...You're..." Mrs. Higurashi couldn't bring herself to say it out.

"You're pregnant wench." Inuyasha came in to finish the sentence for Mrs. Higurashi.

Kagome's scream echoed through the whole neighbourhood.

"I told Inuyasha the secret can't be kept for long." Shippou munched on another cookie that Kagome brought over.

"Well atleast they're ok now." Sango glanced up at the tree, looking wistfully at the two lovebirds sitting there, enjoying the scenery.

"Do you want that, Sango?" Miroku asked.

"Wha...? No! Of course not-" Sango was cut off by Miroku's lips against her. Sango had never known a guy's lips could be so soft. She leaned against him a sighed. The romantic moment was cut off by Shippou's shriek.

"Are you adults ever going to act normal?" Shippou asked.

Inuyasha jumped down from the tree with Kagome in his arms. Yeah... when are you guys going to get married?" Inuyasha teased.

"Well... we..." Sango stuttered.

"Come on, let's go. We don't have any more time to waste. We have to look for Naraku." Inuyasha turned to Kagome. "You must promise me. When I tell you to go home, you must go home. Because I don't want you giving birth here.

Kagome nodded.

"We can't let Naraku off this time!" Inuyasha yelled.

Everybody just smiled.
