"Kagome! How have you been all these months?" Kouga smiled then frowned as Inuyasha came into view. "Why did you have to come with dog-shit?" He grumbled.

Kagome ignored the 'question' but did smile at Kouga. She looked around the grand house. "Where's Sanjo?"

"KAGOME!" Ayame exclaimed. "I didn't expect you to visit us." She rubbed her belly. "Oh, and we're having another child. It's another boy. When are you two going to-"

Ayame was cut by a extremly loud 'Keh!' She glanced around and found Inuyasha leaning by the hall way. "We already had two, if that was what you meant. And it was at the same time too."

"Inuyasha!" Kagome muttered with a hinge of irritation in her voice though she was blushing.

"I sure hope they take after Kagome." Kouga commented.

"And what's that suppose to mean?" Inuyasha stood up straight and eyed Kouga a glower.

"Nothing. It's just that . . . imagine a few more of dog-shits-"Kouga made a show of imagining, "-Kami, it would mean Hell on Earth."

"Jealous, much? I sure pity Ayame to have to stick to a mangy wolf like you." Inuyasha pretended to sigh and shake his head.

Ayame cleared her throat. "Kagome, come on. Let's leave them here." Dragging Kagome by the hand, they started towards the rooms.

They men continued exchanging insults though they followed the women. Kagome rolled her eyes and sat down on the soft, leather sofa. Ayame let go of Sanjo's hand. "Watch this." Ayame placed a disc in the CD player. She pressed the 'play' button. The song 'Stars Are Blind' by Paris Hilton began playing.

By now, the two adults have stopped quarreling and were watching young boy with avid interest. Sanjo, it seemed, had a talent for music. He was dancing and singing to the music. Kagome clapped her hands enthusiastically as the performance finished. She squealed and proceeded to question Ayame. Inuyasha, obviously jealous of what Sanjo can do, snorted and folded his arms together. "I can't imagine Kouga dancing."

Kagome stifled a sigh as the two launched into arguement again. "How did you manage to teach him this?" Kagome asked Ayame, though her eyes were on the toddler, who was fiddling with his hair now.

"I don't know. I just came out of my room on day and found him doing that," Ayame followed Kagome's gaze and smiled as she pry Sanjo's hand apart and keep him from hurting himself.

"I came today . . . not only because I wanted to visit you." Kagome hesitated.

Ayame could sense Kagome's upset. "Oh? Care to share?"

"Naraku . . . is still alive." Once the words escaped her mouth, Kouga's head snap towards her. Ayame looked her her like she was crazy. The whole room which was very noisy before suddenly turned quiet. Even Sanjo was staring at her curiously.

Finally, Kouga was the one to break the uncomfortable silence. "Y-you're not serious, are you?" He choked out.

"Keh, so you think she's fucking lying?" Inuyasha asked.

"N-no, of course not! He just wants to confirm, right Kouga?" Ayame hurriedly replied to stop the fight that she she was coming.

Kouga snorted - a sound that he doesn't make often. "Of course not. I was just thinking how many fleas do you have and whether you have passed it on to Kagome . . ." He trailed off. Looking thoughtful for a moment, it didn't seem like he was going to say anything again. "So . . . where is he then? Seems like dog-shit failed to take care of him properly. I shall take matters into my own hands then."

"Keh! And where were you when we were battling Naraku? Probably hiding in some bushes!" Inuyasha retorted.

"I'm not really sure where he is, Kouga. But I don't think you should interfere with this because-"

"Because what? He was the one who slayed all my friends!"

"Yeah well, but . . . This time, he's after us - The Goshinboku." Kagome said in a soothing tone, hoping to convince him.

"Do you think I care? As long as a piece of him stays on this Earth, I will not be appeased." Kouga spat.

Kagome sighed. Thankfully though, Inuyasha had remained quiet while he watched them. Shaking his head, he grabbed Kagome by the hands muttering something about mangy-wolves too stubborn for their own good. Despite her irritation with Kouga's obstination, Kagome smiled. Inuyasha had been concerned about Kouga - atleast concerned enough to talk about him. Kagome had waved a quick goodbye and left with Inuyasha.

Naraku used his tentacles and 'repaired' his body. In an instant, his eyes flashed red. But the status of his body refused him to do so, and just because of that momentary anger, it had wore him out. It's no wonder he is terribly angry with Inuyasha. Kumi had been his servant - willingly, for 500years. She hadn't requested to lengthen her own life to accodomate with his. She had just requested that he keep her by his side for as long as she live. Naraku - the hard hearted villian who had always looked down on humans, had softened and had granted her life as long as a hanyou by mating her. When one mate dies, another follows. Naraku clenched his teeth. This Naraku will choose. He will not let the nature laws of hanyou and youkai defeat his will. Inuyasha had kill his servant - his mate. A tear slipped as he remembered how they had met.

Kumi, not older by 14, stepped into the bushes because she had hurt a noise. Somehow, it had sounded as though it was calling out to her. She gasped as a string of light shot into the bushes. Being her curious own-self, she picked up a twig and crawled into the bush. Lying there, in the hole, was a figure. There was no real body. Just a shape of a man. Kumi could sense the hatred radiating off him. Approaching him slowly, Kumi opened her mouth and asked, "Are you Ok?"

The instant those words spilled out of her mouth, Naraku turned to look at her. He could feel himself wasting away. He couldnt be bothered to answer. He just lay there, both of them staring at each other. Finally, Naraku thought of a plan. "I-I-I need . . . a body . . ." he whispered, making his voice sound weak on purpose. Sure, he could posess her; but if she didn't agree to it, it wouldn't work and instead, he would probably vanish forever.

Kumi had looked at him with concern in her eyes. Finally, she told him to wait there and went away. She didn't see the evil smirk Naraku had on her face. She had returned a few minutes later with a baby with a arms and held it out to him saying, "I don't really know what you want it for but - here. I found this bundle of baby outside a hut, and the hut had no one else inside. So I decided to give him to you." She smiled at him. Naraku didn't smile back. Instead, he forced his soul into the pour baby and forced the baby's out.

Naraku sighed as the flashback ended. Since then, Kumi had refused to leave him even though Naraku threatened to kill her so many times. But this time, it was different from Kikyou's. It had been his own heart and conscience screaming at him not to kill the girl. Now, with a greater determination to kill Inuyasha, he set to work, thinking of a plan.

"So? Any ideas how we can defeat that bastard?" Inuyasha asked with a hint of i-knew-you-can-do-it tone.

Kagome growled at him. "Even if I did not, you just CAN'T go charging in at him. It's too dangerous." She stated.

"You had no ideas, nor do I. What the fuck do you expect me to do?" Inuyasha grumbled. "If only that lecher was here."

Kagome sighed. Miroku and Sango had went on their honeymoon for a year and was not back. Besides, Kikyou had already stated clearly: No interference. Something dawned on Kagome and her head snapped up.

"Anything wrong?" Inuyasha asked in concern.

"I was just wondering . . . Miroku had said that - as long as Naraku is alive, he would have that kazanna, wouldn't he?"

Inuyasha nodded.

"So-" Kagome began.

Inuyasha cut her off with a snort. "Keh! So you wonder why Miroku was freed of his kazanna then?" Kagome opened her mouth to answer but was cut off by Inuyasha again. "I thought you had more brains than me. It's just so easy. That body cursed him. Yes it was his soul, but it was with Onigumo. Onigumo died already and so has the body. The soul is just a pathetic reminder - without any damn powers. Of course he'll perish." Inuyasha explained in a tolerant tone.

Kagome ignored his way of praising and went on thinking. `Your source of power . . . is that tree.` She had remembered that. Kikyou had mentioned. What exactly, did he meant by that? Naraku's soul purpose was to get revenge this time, and probably find another thing like a Shikon no Tama. Which was exactly why they would have to stop him. Her mind wandered to Kumi. `Why did Kumi's aura had Naraku's in it?` Kumi had been her classmate. She remembered that Kumi was a very quiet girl. There was once a group of boys who bullied her and . . . they were never seen again. Kagome's head snapped up. Naraku had been spying on her since she was born! In a flash, everything made sense. Naraku had mated Kumi to make her live longer. He had known about the secret of the well, which was how he knew Goshinboku linked them together.

"Earth to Kagome . . . where the hell is your head?" Inuyasha's words jerked her back to her senses.

Kagome sighed. She was too tired to explain anything to him. Shooting him a glower, she made her way to the bathroom to wash her face before she sleeps. "I'm tired." To make her point, she yawned.

He opened his mouth to retort but shut it again and sighed.

"Ok, let me get this clear: You want to cut down the forest just to built a house for us? That's an inheritance from your father!" Kagome sighed and rubbed her forehead.

"You don't want it?" Inuyasha's ears drooped.

He had known this will work. Kagome's upset was very obvious and she seemed to consider it for awhile. "But . . . Nevermind."

Inuyasha grinned. He had a feeling this was a very good decision.
