InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Silver Rebel ❯ Lots of staring... ( Chapter 6 )
Hey Everyone! I'm back! Sorry it took me so long. School has been being a dick and not letting me stay after for very long and I haven't been able to type anything. But now I have a nicer computer at home that actually knows the correct date (my other one insisted that it was the year 2094). So I'm going to type all of my stories here and upload them at school. Wahoo (that was sarcastic). It's not that I don't like writing for you guys, it's just that I get interrupted a lot. Meaning, my mother doesn't really improve of my writing (writing time takes up homework time). But it's better than watching television. Okie Dokie! You guys have waited long enough. Now let's get going!!!

Kagome's head snapped up in surprise. 'How the hell...' She thought. She realized she looked even more incriminating with the surprised look on her face and quickly wiped it off. "What are you talking about?" She asked.
Sesshomaru sighed. "It's obvious that you do." He said. "Only one person has that type of poison and that's Naraku the biker." He turned to put things away. "He developed it in a lab and he's the only one that knows how to make it."
Kagome quickly put an annoyed look. "Even though it's none of your business, I got jumped a few days ago while I was walking home." Sesshomaru turned to look at her. "The jerk cut me that's all, he was on a motorcycle so he might be the guy you're talking about."
He walked over to her, bent over and put his face inches from hers. He looked like he was searching her eyes for something. "You're lying." He said simply. Kagome jerked her head back. "I don't know what you are trying to hide, but you are not a good actor."
She felt she had to get away from his gaze and looked over to where the others were sitting. They had remained silent since they walked into the room. She looked at Sango to Miroku and then to Inu-Yasha. Miroku was staring at Sango who was looking at Inu-Yasha and he was staring at Kagome. He looked like he too was searching for something. When he realized she was glaring at him that something dawned on him; she could see it in his face.
Inu-Yasha smiled. He knew who she was. He remembered the first day he had met her, the fact that she was swift enough to disappear with out a sound, her posture and build and now this. He jumped off the bed. And walked over to her. Sesshomaru had straightened up and took a seat at his desk. Inu-Yasha squinted trying to picture her in that black and silver helmet and jacket.
"What are you looking at?" She asked him. Another smile spread across his face.
"You're her, aren't you?" He asked.
"Who?" Kagome scowled.
"The Silver Rebel." He said. He heard Sango gasp behind him.
"You are? Cool, I always knew that I would find out who you really were one day." Sango exclaimed.
"I have to admit that I never would have thought that it would be you." Miroku said.
"Look, I'm not The Silver Rebel!" Kagome yelled. "I don't even know who that is! I have no idea what you all are talking about." Inu-Yasha knew she wouldn't admit to it, at least not now anyway.
"You're right." He said and put out his hand to help her out of the chair. "You couldn't be her. You have the reflexes of a sloth." Kagome's face darkened. "Come on, I'll take you home." His hand was still closed over hers.
'Who is this guy?' Kagome thought. Then she yanked her hand out of his. "That's alright, I'll walk." He looked hurt but didn't say anything. Kagome turned to Sesshomaru and touched the shirt.
"Wash it and give it back later." He answered her unasked question. "Most likely I will be seeing you again." Kagome nodded her thanks, but wondered about what could possibly make her come back there. She walked out of the room and Inu-Yasha, Sango and Miroku followed her.
When they got down stairs Sango touched her arm. "Look I'm sorry we got off on the wrong foot. We are just kind of stressed right now, and the thought of meeting someone infamous to the underground was a little overwhelming." Kagome smiled.
"That's all right, I understand." Kagome said. Inu-Yasha rolled his eyes, walked into the TV and Miroku followed him. "What's wrong with him?" She asked.
"Oh," Sango began. "He's just a little cranky since he broke up with his long time girlfriend." She shook her head. "He caught her flirting and making out with other guys." She said quietly.
"Hey!" Inu-Yasha called from the other room. Sango turned to look at him. "I think it's time for Kagome to go home now." Both girls shot him a dirty look. "I just thought, it's getting dark and she might not want to be on the streets when it does."
"I can take care of myself." Kagome retorted.
"That's not what I saw this afternoon." He said turning his attention back to the television.
Kagome narrowed her eyes. She knew he was just trying to push her into doing something that would link her to her alias. She wasn't going to fall for that again. She was already on thin ice with the cut, of which stopped throbbing and was now down to a low pain.
"Hey! I know!" Sango said snapping Kagome out of her revelations. "I'll drive you home." Kagome smiled. She was going to turn her down, saying she would rather stretch her legs than to drive. That was until Inu-Yasha spoke up.
"If she said she didn't want a ride, then why offer something she already refused."
"Valid point Inu-Yasha." Miroku said, trying to gain some points with the disgruntled boy before he decided to take his frustration out on someone.
"I said I didn't want a ride from you, not Sango." Kagome said in a huff.
Inu-Yasha raised his eyebrows. "Actually I believe your exact words were 'that's alright, I'll walk,' if I recall correctly."
"Well that's when I thought I had to let a strange boy know where my home was." Kagome said. Inu-Yasha looked at her. Again the hurt seemed to show through his face. 'Why am I acting so defensively?' Kagome thought. 'I'll have to think about it later.'
"Fine," He said. "But you can't use my truck."
"That's ok," Sango said a little confused at Inu-Yasha's reaction. "We'll ride my bike."
"Whatever." He muttered.
"Come on Kagome." Sango said turning back to the girl. "We can strap your bag to the back." Kagome followed her out to the door she came in, stopping to grab her pack on the way. They walked to the garage and Sango opened the door.
The sight almost made Kagome gasp. It was beautiful. There were three bikes, one pink and black, one deep purple, and one white. There was also another but it was covered by a sheet. There were magazine cut outs pinned to a large cork board, and there was a red tool box with some of it's shelves pulled out. Dirty rags were littered all over the benches and tables along with different parts of the body protectors, gloves, and helmets.
Behind the black and pink bike was an enlarged picture of what looked like Sango and her family. Behind the purple bike was another inflamed picture but this one of a scantily clad woman in a compromising position. Behind the white bike was a picture of what looked like pack of dogs.
But the bike under the cover didn't have a picture. It made it all the more mysterious. While Sango was busy searching through the sea of equipment and rags, Kagome walked over to the concealed bike. She ran her hand over the top and walked over to the other side. She was about the lift the cover when Sango spoke.
"I wouldn't do that." She said loudly. Kagome looked at her, her hand not moving from the bike. "That's Inu-Yasha's. He doesn't like anyone messing with it." She walked over to her and handed Kagome a helmet. "Here, I think that this will fit." Kagome nodded and slipped the headpiece on. "Do you need me to tie it for you?" She asked.
"No, I'm good." Kagome said and correctly looped the strap in and out of the steel rings. Sango raised her eyebrows at her. "Oh, uh my dad and I used to ride dirt bikes in the summer and fall." Kagome said quickly.
"Oh really?" Sango said sounding interested. "Where is your dad?" She innocently asked.
"Um, he, um, died, about five years ago. Plane crash." Kagome muttered.
"Oh I'm sorry." She said actually sounding sincere.
"That's alright." She said. "I miss him but I always have the memories."
"Yeah, I know what you mean." Sango said. "My parents died in a car accident about a year ago, and my brother is still in a coma at the hospital."
"Oh, wow. I had no idea." Kagome said quietly.
Sango looked up at the house. She saw what she thought was Inu-Yasha standing at the window but she blinked and he was gone. "I guess this place has become a haven for orphans." She paused taking a slow breath. "Miroku lost his father to cancer and his mother died during his childbirth. Inu-Yasha's father was big in the underground racing circuit and he made a lot of enemies. I guess one day they decided that he won his last race and they murdered his parents when he was little. As for Sesshomaru's mother, I don't know. Nobody does, he never talks about her.
"After Inu-Yasha's parents were gone, Sesshomaru took him in. They're only half siblings but, I think they treat each other like they were true brothers."
Kagome felt like crying. It was really sad to find all of this out. She felt like running back inside the house and hugging Inu-Yasha. It was all pretty depressing.
