InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Silver Rebel ❯ Discovery ( Chapter 9 )
Ok. You all have waited long enough. I bet you all are wondering why I haven't updated for an un-godly amount of time. Well, writer's block you know… sucks ass.
The other reason is that I was busy reading other fanfics. The stuff you guys come up with is unreal. Here's the thing: if Kagome gets raped by Inu-Yasha or otherwise, she will not come out of it in just two chapters. And another thing, I know some of you out there like lemons. I do too. But just because Inu-Yasha and Kagome confess their love for each other, doesn't mean that they will have sex right away! Ok? I mean, imagine if you and your boyfriend/girlfriend confess that you 'love' each other, would you jump them right then and there? I wouldn't. It makes me mad because I haven't found a fanfic that actually puts it out there. I think I'll end up combining these two ideas and making them right. That might make the fanfic longer and make all of you mad at me but I like threats. They make me feel, happy. Kind of like you're the horse and I'm the guy with the stick-and-carrot. Ooh my poor sadistic mind…
Let's get it on!

Kagome reached for his helmet and Inu-Yasha jerked away. "Oh, what? Got helmet hair?" She asked. Kagome extended her hand once more and he pulled even further away. "Ok, ok, I get it. You don't want to be known. Fine." With that she turned to walk away.
Red grabbed her arm and pulled her back. She winced in pain. He stood and pulled her jacket down. "Hey!" She yelled. The wound was bleeding again, all the adrenaline that went through Kagome while she was fighting must have canceled out the pain. Now it hurt like hell.
"De-ja-vu, huh?" He said. Kagome looked deeply into his helmet. Even through the dark visor she thought she could see amber eyes. Just then Sango and Miroku pulled into the alley.
"Hey guys! What happened?" Sango asked.
Kagome spun around and saw Sango and Miroku getting off their bikes. She stood staring confusedly at the two while the Red made violent gestures behind her so they wouldn't give away his secret identity.
Kagome seemed to notice that Sango wasn't looking at her and turned back around. Red quickly went back to the same position he was in before. Kagome glared at him. "What were you doing?" She asked. He shrugged.
"So Kagome," Sango said quickly. "I see you've met Red." Kagome looked at her, puzzled. Sango pointed to the man behind her. "He's the famous unbeatable rider on this turf."
"This guy's a racer?" Kagome asked looking back at Red. "He looks like he's going to a motorcross tournament." Miroku snorted and Red glared at him. "What's so funny?" Kagome asked, walking over to him.
"Motorcross racing is for pussies. We do real riding." He said with a real arrogance about him.
"So I guess that's why you're dressed up like one?" Kagome asked raising an eyebrow.
"Well, um, you see…" Miroku stuttered. Sango and Red busted out laughing. "Shut up." He muttered.
"Well I guess you guys aren't really into professional racing." Kagome said.
"Not professional racing, no." Sango said.
"Huh, makes sense." Kagome said softly.
"But the jerseys are very comfortable." Miroku said. Kagome laughed at him and Sango and Miroku grinned. Kagome heard a motorcycle rev up behind her and she whirled around. Red kicked up the stand and nodded to Kagome. Then he put it into gear. He pulled out and merged into traffic.
"Who is that guy?" Kagome asked.
"We told you, he's the Red." Miroku said.
"I think she means 'who's under the helmet?'" Sango said.
"Oh well that's… hump!" Sango elbowed him. Kagome heard them but pretended not to. She had a pretty good idea about who it was under that helmet. A small plan floated into her mind, but if it was going to work, she had to act fast.
"Thanks for helping me guys, this is my apartment building so I'll get going now!" She said cheerily. "I'll see you tomorrow!" She smiled as sweetly as possible.
"Right," Sango said. "We'll see you tomorrow."
Kagome waved and walked quickly out of the alley and around to the front of the building. The smile wiped off of her face and Kagome became very serious. She unlocked the front door and closed it behind her. She spun around and sprinted to the stairs. She took them two at a time until she met her floor. She burst through the steel door and rushed to her apartment. She fumbled with her keys before finding the right one and shoving it into the lock.
The door clicked open and Kagome slammed it behind her. She scurried to the bedroom and threw open a drawer. She pulled out an old pair of blue jeans and threw them on the bed. Then she opened another drawer and pulled out a black tank top. She threw that on the bed and raced to the front closet. She dropped to her knees and pushed everything aside to the hidden compartment. She carefully pulled out her boots, helmet, gloves and soft leather jacket. Like lightning, she changed into her outfit. She ran out of her apartment and ran to the stairs and seemed to fly down each floor. When she reached the garage, she threw the cover off her bike and jumped on. She peeled out of the garage.
She knew she was being reckless, but she had to know. Everything would change if she were right. She sped through the traffic, unnoticing of the two people still in the alleyway.
*earlier*
"Sango why are we waiting here? It's cold!"
"Shh, Miroku. I'm sure she'll come out." Sango said. "Just wait a little longer." Miroku sighed and leaned against the brick wall. "There!" Sango muttered as a black blurb wizzed by. Sango pulled out a cell phone and held down a number. The speed dial activated and after a few rings someone picked up.
/Hello?/
"Where are you?" Sango asked.
/Gas station, why?/
"She knows. Get home now!"
/How?/
"Well, it was obvious. Now go!"
/Thanks. Bye/
Sango turned back to Miroku. "We can go now." She said.
"You know you could have told me." He said sulkily. He pushed himself off the wall and walked over to his bike.
"Yeah, but it's more fun watching you squirm." She said grinning.
*back to Kagome*
'Where is he?' Kagome, now the Silver Rebel, thought. She waited on the walk next to neighbors-across-the-street's garage. It was concealed with a few trees but with a perfect view of her new friend's home. 'How long does it take to get here?'
Suddenly there was some movement on the street. Kagome, instinctively crouched down, holding her injured arm against her and pressing her body closer to her bike. Then someone ran up the driveway pushing a cherry red bike.
"Gotcha." Kagome said aloud. The person stopped and looked around. Kagome barely breathed. 'Did he hear me?' She thought wildly. 'No, he couldn't have.' She watched as he turned and continued to push the bike up the driveway and into the garage. The door closed but for a few minutes later, a de-helmeted, messy-haired, Inu-Yasha emerged from the side door and disappeared once again, this time into the house. Kagome sat up. She smirked. "Insurance is a good thing." She muttered.
She pushed her bike out of the driveway and down the road a bit. She was so excited that she didn't notice the man following her. She didn't notice as he watched her sneak into the parking garage or that he followed her all the way to her apartment. The man smiled and gave a small chuckle. Then he turned and left the building, speeding away into the night.
