InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Sorcerer ❯ Chapter 1

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Author Note: Talk about finding old unfinished stuff while you clean out. I don't know how many years this one lay around but it sure brought back memories and dust. I've forgotten the main part of this story so I had to short it down to two parts but it will be worth it, hopefully. The ending feels a little rushed but otherwise I wouldn't had finished it. I just kind of threw up the first thing that came to mind that didn't sound all to silly. But next chapter will be a great challenge and who didn't like challenges while writing? I will try to make the most of it and while this chapter might not be as long as I wanted from the start I will try to make it up for you. Which may make it a little late but it WILL come forth.

Parings: InuYasha and Sesshomaru

Warning: Incest. M/M

Disclaimer: I don't own InuYasha, never will. I only borrow them to play with them. I'll return them when I'm done. Hopefully not to much damaged.

Part 1 of 2

A figure sat at the window, over looking the city bellow. The dark night was lighted by the festival torches. Music was played everywhere. People dancing in bright colors and laughing. It was so beautiful, to everyone else but him.

The white silk of his clothes fluttered as the night wind blew past him into the room, dying there but leaving the trail scent from the fresh night behind. The gold chains that decorated his wrists, neck and hair gave away soft cliring sounds when they moved even the lightest. He gave a soft, almost inaudible sigh. He rested his chin in one of his palms. Letting his feet rest against the cold floor. His white, almost ashly, colored hair and amber eyes made him exotic for there were few with these colours, even his own skin wasn’t overly tanned for someone that lives in one of the warmest contries where the sun shined 17 hours a day.

Most people that met him for the first time treated him like a porcelain doll. They were almost afraid that he would break under the slightest pressure so he wasn't allowed to do what he wanted. There were also those that desired him because of his exotic looks. There hadn’t been one time where someone had tried to force them on him but none of them had succeeded.

His golden eyes followed what happen outside the palace. He watched the people dance, have fun, drink, eat and laugh. It was their celebration week. No one was allowed to work, everything was cheaper now and everyone was enjoying themselves. Seven days and six nights where everyone mostly slept during the day and partied during the night.

He couldn't feel himself smile when a little girl with light honey hair looked up and saw him from the closest roof. She waved her hand and bowed because he was inside the palace. He felt his hand wave back but he didn't feel anything from it.

His emotions had long since been numbed. How long had it been since he smiled? How long had it been since he even felt happiness? Felt anything beside this empty hole in his chest. Longer than he could remember.

The girl smiled brightly back at him and climbed down from the roof to her friends bellow. Joining their families with the celebration.

"They sure look happy down there." He said to himself.

He could see a couple dancing outside a hotel. They looked like they were really enjoying it. He recognized the girl as one of the local prostitutes that usually worked around that hotel. When they had the chance they would flirt with him for good measures, mostly when he was at this window but also when he was walking around outside. When he needed to get away from everything for a moment and he was easily recognized.

The man escorted the woman inside.

The man walked slowly over to the woman and kissed her. Tasting her blood on her lips before leaving her there. Entwined in the red stained sheets. Dead.

InuYasha closed his eyes to get rid of the images. They didn't disturb him like they did in the beginning. He had seen to much death and sick things through his visions to be affected anymore.

Ever since he had been a little boy it had become more clear that he wasn't any ordinary child. He had been called “devil child” and “demon”. Who knew what his heritage was. All he knew was that his ears was a far cry from being human, for he had dog ears on the top of his head. That alone was enough to confirm that he wasn’t human. That was also why he had been taken away from his family at a young age, his gift. The new king of the land had heard of him and took him in as his seer. He didn't want the life he had been given. Never had. Now all he wanted was to disappear.

He could hardly remember his parents but what he knew was that they had died when he was little, leaving him and his older brother to take care of themselves. His brother had such cold eyes and they were the same as his but their impression used to be different. There were actually some similarities between them so no one could really question that they weren’t family. He missed his brother terribly and wanted to see him. He knew that his brother was out there somewhere but years of waiting for him to find him had made his last hopes fade away. It wasn’t like he had many memories of his brother, it was more flashes from his gift that told him about his brother. He knew that his brother was cold and defensive against everyone he met but deep behind that he was just longing for someone to hold him. InuYasha had in his dreams held him many times. At first it had just been for comfort but that had changed to longing and later on when he reached puberty a desire.

InuYasha stood and walked away from the window. He picked up a dagger from a low table and tied it inside his clothes. Hiding it from sight. He took of some of the gold chains so that he wouldn't draw to more attention to him. He didn't even look around the room one last time before he left it for the last time.

It didn't matter anymore, nothing did.

He walked through the hallway while pulling his hair behind a cloth, hiding it from view but everyone that he met bowed out of costume for the celebration and that they could see the chain around his neck that screamed: Magical Creature.

When he was at the gate he was stopped by the guards.

"Are you going to the festival, InuYasha-sama?" The gray haired guard asked.

InuYasha nodded as he showed them the golden necklace that gave him permission to go where he wanted.

"Be back in an hour." The guard said.

InuYasha didn't acknowledge that in anyway. He would never come back here anyway.

When he was on the other side of the gate he sighed in relief. 'That went well.' He hide the chain around his neck behind his clothes. No one would ever see it from now on, not when he was alive at least.

InuYasha slowly walked through the festival, dancing slightly when he felt someone drag him into the dancing but very soon walked out of it. He got more and more attention and that made him slightly panic. He wasn't used to this kind of attention and that freaked him out. They were touching him, that was something everyone inside the palace was forbidden by the king to do. So he was sensitive to even the lightest touch. It also took a lot out of him to keep from seeing visions with everyone around him.

But no matter how much afraid he was he felt even more detached from reality. Everyone around him, they didn't know what kind of life he had lived up until now. They could never understand.

They were celebrating the 12th year of the new king but for him it had been 12 painful and horrible years.

He finally managed to walk out of the dancing crowd. InuYasha kept on walking until he reached the hill outside the city. It was the only place where a blossom tree and pond was at the same place. He gave a sad smile. When he had began to “work” for the new king he had seen a vision that told him that he would met someone here. Someone that would save him but that person never came. No matter how many times he escaped to this place that person wasn't there.

Now, he barely remembered the vision at all.

"Who ever it was supposed to be, it's to late now." InuYasha said softly.

InuYasha sat down at the edge of the pond, bringing out the knife from it's hidden place. The silver blade glittered in the clear moonlight, reflecting half of his face. He stared into his reflection but what stared back at him was emotionless eyes. He winkled the knife slightly, breaking the moment. InuYasha took a last look around the place. It was really peaceful and beautiful.

Slowly InuYasha brought the blade up to his neck, intending to finish his life quickly. The cold blade pressed against his skin and he stopped his movements. Everything was quiet, only the wind could be heard as it blew through the town.

"I'm pathetic, even now I believed someone would save me!" InuYasha whispered painfully.

"What are you doing?"

Slowly InuYasha lowered the knife before he looked around and saw a figure standing at the cherry tree. His frame was covered in a long cloak of light blue and white, the design was simple but beautifully made, making it hard for him to see his face. Otherwise he had the normal cloth of a traveller, covering his entire body except his feet that was protected by dark sandals. Even through the many layers of cloth that would keep out the nights cold and block the sun's heat InuYasha saw that his body was nicely toned. In a most appealing way. For a moment InuYasha caught first sight of dark amber coloured eyes. He felt like they were melting something inside of him, bringing something forth that had long been forgotten.

InuYasha couldn't explain it but somehow he felt calm and safe. His restless spirit came back from the edge of its grave. Something warm was wrapping itself around him that left him drifting in a endless sea of this comfort. Emotions from the sea passed through him, like warm waves surrounded him. Washing him away from all his troubles and worries.

InuYasha was so caught up in his thoughts that he was startled when the man sat down beside him. Just then did he realize that he just had looked inside of the strange man, without knowing it.

"It's really beautiful here." the stranger said.

InuYasha hide the knife on his other side so the man wouldn't see it. "Yeah." Neither of them said anything more. The silence dragged out so long that InuYasha started to fiddle with the edge of his cloths. Why was he this nervous?

"Do you make it a habit to try to kill yourself?"

InuYasha was taken back by the sudden question. ".. I... um..." So he saw the knife.

The strange man gave him what could be considered a smiled. "No matter how hard its to keep on living there is no excuse to end it all by running away from it."

InuYasha's temper flared. How dare this complete stranger lecture him about hardship and running away. He had NO IDEA what he had been through. He turned and glared at the man.

"Go to hell." InuYasha didn't have time to stand before his wrist was caught, still holding in his hand the knife he unconsciously took a swing to slap the others hand away but ended up cutting the top of his hand. InuYasha stared down at the thin line of blood that appeared on the clean hand. Had he done this? "I--I'm sorry." InuYasha stuttered in an unsteady voice, not really feeling guilty about it but somehow needed to say it.

For a moment the silence was all his answers but when InuYasha looked away, feeling a faint blush from the intense look he was given, the silence was broken.

"I don't remember raising you to be this weak, InuYasha."

His heart jumped once and his head snapped up just in time to see a hand push away the cloth covering his head. Long silver locks fell down in waves. A strong and proud chin rested on a nicely shaped neck. Slightly pointy ears escaped the strands. The mark of a moon and stripes on his cheeks in a purple colour adored his well shaped face. And those eyes that had stared at him earlier had exited the shadows and looked more brilliant than the sun.

InuYasha didn't dare to believe it. It couldn't be...

The same hand came up and pushed down the silk covering InuYasha's head. The same hair, although a little darker in shade and the poppy dog ears twitched in the cold night air. Fingers ran over his left ear and he shivered.

"I've finally found you, little brother."

Two hours later InuYasha was resting with his head in his brothers lap by the tree. His hair was being stroked by the others hands. He had so much to ask but all he wanted was soak up everything of his brother. The strange peace he had felt now filled him and he remembered feeling it when he was a mere child. 12 years. It seemed longer since they had been together. 12 lonely years.

InuYasha curled up against his older brother like he was a pillow. "I missed you so much." InuYasha whispered. "I thought that I would only see you in my dreams."

Sesshoumaru leaned down and planted a kiss next to one ear, then he stroked it with affection.

"I'm here now, everything will be allright from now on."

What InuYasha missed as he faced the other way with his eyes closed was the possessive and predatory glare which was directed at him.

"I'm not letting you go again. Never."
