Chapter 10-Reaquaintence

They Inu gang had been battling another demon that had come after the jewel, a scorpion demon.

Kagome-So I guess it was just another demon with a jewel shard

Inuyasha hit the demon hard with the Wind Scar, but the tough exoskeleton of the scorpion demon was too much, and barely made a mark.

Inuyasha-It's not working!

Sango threw her giant boomerang into the demon's face, but it quickly dodged her attacked and it swung back around as Sango caught it. Miroku tried to use his Wind Tunnel, but the demon was of such immense size that he could do nothing, but pull in everything surrounding him. “You efforts are futile!” shouted the scorpion demon, as it sent it's giant stinging tail wailing through the air and suddenly letting it drop to the ground with a thud, in an attempt to crush Inuyasha. Fortunately, the hanyou had gotten away quickly and was once again attacking the demon with Tetsusaiga.

Suddenly, there was a whistling sound in the air, and it was quickly getting louder. Inuyasha suddenly realized that it was coming from the west, but paid no attention, because of the battle before him. Just as he had turned around, he saw that the demon had raised it's tail and was about to strike him, paralyzed with fear, Inuyasha simply stood there with his sword. He knew that he was going to be crushed from the weight and pressure of the beast's tail, but was helpless to stop it. All of the sudden a blur of colors ran in front of him, and withstood the demon's attack by holding it's tail. Inuyasha had closed his eyes, and now realized that the tail should've made contact with him by now, but he still felt nothing. So quickly opening his eyes, he saw a sea of amber, and pool of blue. The figure flipped the demon over on its side, and sent a wave of lightning right down the middle of the scorpion's body and it sent guts flying everywhere. But the figure had created a barrier that now contained all of the splattered contents of the demon and blew up the contents of the force field.

Inuyasha, still in awe looked at the figure and finally noticed that the figure was another hanyou.

Inuyasha-Kayoko?

The girl turned around to face Inuyasha, and looked at him with and saddened and sorrowful expression. Inuyasha took pity on such a face containing such sadness. But the girl's expression quickly turned in to a devilish smirk as she gave Inuyasha a sharp shove in the chest. Inuyasha had to step back for a minute regaining his balance. The girl replied “Duh! Who else would it be?” said Kayoko sarcastically.

Kayoko-I'm always saving your but from mortals and demons over and over again.

Miroku- (sarcastically) You mean Inuyasha had to be saved by a girl?

Inuyasha growls and gives Miroku a dirty look.

Kayoko-Are you suggesting monk, that boys never need rescuing and women are always the damsels in distress?!

Kayoko said this with great anger towards Miroku, who coward in fear at the tone of Kayoko's voice.

Miroku- Not at all, simply suggesting that Inuyasha can sometimes be, well… hard headed and stubborn. Not wanting to admit anything that might destroy our “High” respect for him.

Kayoko- (Back in nice mode) Oh, well, My name is Kayoko, I was…Inuyasha's… “Nanny”
