Chapter 25-An Oxymoron-Being Opposites and One

Akeela caught her breath when Koga and Kayoko had stopped walking and was panting with her hands on her lands and bent over. Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, Shippo and Kilala had caught up as well and were still yelling at Kayoko.

Inuyasha-If you're going to a wolf convention then I'm going too!

Koga-Uh numbskull, you're not exactly what you'd call a wolf so shoo, shoo.

Kayoko-Inuyasha you can stay up until the convention starts and then I think you must leave until we return and have finished the ceremony.

Kagome-So we're going to France!

Sango-What's it like in your time Kagome, I mean it must be beautiful for you to get so excited.

Kagome-Well I've never actually been there, but the Eiffel Tower's there and so is the Arch de Triomphe.

Kayoko-Kagome those were all built in the 18th century or later, there's really not as much there as you would think, except maybe a bunch of old castles.

Kagome-Oh well I at I can get a dirt sample to show my family.

Koga-We've got to get to my den to inform Ginta, Hakaku and Ayame.

Akeela-Who are they exactly?

Koga-Members of my tribe.

Kayoko-Well then, let's be on our way, I don't really anticipate prolonging the ceremony until the last moment.

The rest nodded and began walking while Akeela stayed at stared at the setting sun. Kayoko realized that Akeela was behind and ran back to her.

Kayoko-Yes, you too shall turn into a wolf demon in a few moments as well as me.

Akeela turned her head back to see the slightly older girl (Akeela's 15 and Kayoko's 17, like Inuyasha). She knew how Kayoko had done that, telepathy of course, but could she do that? Akeela focused her mind on Kayoko and tried her best but heard no voice in her head. She lowered her head in defeat at the hands of her own powers.

Kayoko-It's all right, once you transform into your demonic state, then it'll be easier to call upon your powers as you wish, it's always harder in mortal form, but you'll get the hang of it all the same.

Akeela slightly smiled at the remark and noticed a strong wind picking and turned towards the west, Kayoko didn't bother to look in the direction and was instead still looking at her reincarnation who'd turned back to look at her. The wined picked up even stronger and Koga, Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku, Sango, Shippo and Kilala turned to look at the two and stared for a moment. The sun was setting behind them from off the cliff they were standing on and the two girls closed their eyes as numerous leaves began swirling around the two girls individually. The wind began to lift them as a musical note rose from their mouths in an enchanting chorus of wind, leaves and song.

The wind and leaves surrounding Kayoko began to turn red, as the wind and leaves encircling Akeela turned gold. Their friends stared in awe with mouths agape as the two continued to rise, then turning to face them with eyes still closed. The force of wind, the speed of the leaves and the volume of their voices all increased as Kayoko and Akeela began spinning at an increasing speed until the red and gold winds became a blinding light, forcing all spectators to turn their eyes away from the scene momentarily. When they were able to turn their heads back Kayoko and Akeela where slowly drifting down to the ground with their eyes still closed and landed gently on their knees and both fell over. Koga, Inuyasha, and Kagome ran over to help the girls up. As they approached them they noticed something. Kayoko's hair had turned red, like when she turned wolf and Akeela likewise only with golden hair.

Their hands gave sight to their claws, sharp and pointed. Koga sat beside Kayoko and helped her onto his lap and on her back. She reopened her eyes to reveal rounded sapphire orbs glowing back at Koga. He pushed her hair back revealing her newly pointed ears. Kagome helped Akeela onto her feet as she opened her eyes showing her now violet pupils and same pointed ears. Their outfits had also changed; Kayoko wearing a green kimono with a short skirt, long sleeves and a black lining and belt. While Akeela was wearing a long, purple kimono with short sleeves and a white lining and belt. The two girls' outfits contradicting each other.

Koga-Kayoko, you're eyes are so…

Inuyasha-Oh cut the crap Koga. So ya like Kayoko, let's get to your den, get your comrades and go.

They were now by Miroku, Sango, Shippo and Kilala.

Kayoko-I agree, we now have little less than three days to go to the gathering, come back and complete the ceremony. In order to do so, we cannot walk and will have to run at top speeds. Koga, Inuyasha, Akeela and I can run alone. Miroku, Sango, Kagome and Shippo may ride on Kilala or…

She once again held her index finger and thumb to her mouth and whistled, the little cloud came back once more, but behind them and ran up causing Miroku, Sango, Kagome and Shippo to fall back on the cloud.

Kayoko-Ride Cumi instead.

Kagome-Cumi?

Kayoko-It's short for Cumulus.

Akeela-Shall we be off.

Inuyasha-I guess, the sooner we get there, the sooner we can leave the wolf back in his den.

Kayoko gave Inuyasha the death glare and once again he was severely confused.

Inuyasha-What?

Kayoko-Do not insult a wolf in the presence of that wolf and especially a hanyou wolf that hates discrimination and is so stubborn to bring justice and do not attempt to destroy that by any means.

Inuyasha-Can you say that again, in English?

Kagome-That was English Inuyasha, just sophisticated and man does that make me feel stupid, I really need to go home more often and study.

Shippo-I thought we were leaving.

Inuyasha-We are, it's just that everyone keeps contradicting me.

Kayoko-UHH, Inuyasha you're so hard to deal with sometimes, what happened to that cute little boy that liked nothing more than making crafts for his mother to show his love.

Inuyasha-He was orphaned and abandoned.

This silenced everyone and Kayoko was now a little mad that Inuyasha still didn't get that she never abandoned him that she simply could not meddle with time. Her hand snow had a green aura surrounding them as the very grass and dirt that she was standing on was lifted out of surrounding ground and levitated over and away from them and far enough that simply sat on the levitated ground, turned towards them and waited.

Kayoko-Aren't you guys coming?
