It was morning and Akyta woke up slowly. During the night she had made up her mind about her plan. She got up and did a fully body stretch. She looked around and noticed she was the last one to be awake and the group was going to set off. She sat up and looked down at the floor. She didn't know whether to continue with them or not. She shook her head trying to clear her mind. Suddenly a hand came down on her shoulder. She spun round and clawed the offender. It was Sesshoumaru. She backed away, “I'm sorry. I didn't know it was you. Are you okay?”

“Yeah I'm fine. Just tell me why you hate my right cheek so much.” He replied while holding the freshly clawed cheek. Akyta looked down at the floor again. She couldn't look at him it was uncomfortable for her. She felt the hand on her shoulder again and tensed up. Sesshoumaru leaned down next to her, “what's wrong Akyta?” She said nothing; she just kept staring at her paws placed firmly on the ground.

 

 

 

Jaken was walking along side Rin. And Ah and Un behind them. Then he realised that Sesshoumaru wasn't with them. He turned around. His eyes grew wide and his mouth hung open. He rubbed his eyes but the sight before him didn't change. He saw Akyta sitting on a rock staring at the ground. But the surprising thing was Sesshoumaru was next to her whispering something and nuzzling her. Jaken couldn't believe such degrading behaviour especially from Sesshoumaru. He tutted with disgust and continued walking. He decided that he didn't like that cat demon. Since she came he'd been ignored more and more.

 

 

 

“Akyta please tell me what's wrong? Why are you so distraught?” He ran his hand through her hair. Akyta looked up at him. She looked into his amber eyes. Then thought about the decision she made on her plan. In that moment she changed her mind, she reached out and hugged him, “yeah I'm fine I was just being silly.” She gave him a warm smile. She didn't know what she was thinking earlier. She stood up and flicked his nose playfully and then ran after the group. Rin immediately started to play with her.

 

 

 

Jaken looked at her with distaste then held his head up and walked on. Who does she think she is? Coming out of nowhere and then…he lost his trail of thought he felt like he was being watched. He looked about but couldn't see anybody. He noticed that Akyta and Sesshoumaru had sensed the presence also. They were facing the same direction, into the darkness of the forest. Akyta's eyes searched franticly then a small movement showed her what they were up against. It was hair. Akyta stiffened, she knew only one person who could do such a thing, Amaya. Rin was running circles around Ah and Un. Akyta saw an accident waiting to happen. She started to run towards Rin to try and warn her but she was too late. Rin screamed out as she ran into a web of hair. Akyta started slashing at the hair trying to get it off the little girl. Sesshoumaru came to her side, “what are you slashing at? I can't see anything.” Akyta explained that Rin was tied up with thin hair. All of a sudden the hair went tightened and Rin was dragged deep into the forest, kicking and screaming. Akyta dashed after her, closely followed by Sesshoumaru. Jaken was left with Ah and Un.

 

 

Akyta ran through the undergrowth completely ignoring anything in her way. She quickly caught up with Rin. Running along side her she took out her weapon and slashed the remaining hair. Rin was freed. Akyta turned to Sesshoumaru, “Take her back to Jaken; I'll sort out this demon.”

Sesshoumaru sneered, “you really think that I'm just going to leave you to some weird demon?”

“Yes, I can see the hair, you can't. therefore you would be at a great disadvantage. So trust me on this and take Rin. Now!”

He picked up Rin, “Please be careful.” Then he sped off. Akyta turned back to the task at hand. She heard a rustle and immediately grew tense. She then distinctively heard Amaya's voice. Then someone ran into her back. Akyta swung round with blind fury and clawed the girl. She wouldn't have stopped but then she heard her name. and worse still it was from the person she was tearing apart. Akyta stopped and actually looked at the person. Akyta's heart stopped for a second, then she uttered one word, “kagome?”
