The group had been travelling for days together. And Akyta was getting frustrated that she didn't know where she was going and her plan was taking longer than she thought. She at least had to figure where Sesshoumaru was taking them. She strolled up beside him and flicked his face to get his attention.
“What do you want now?” he said, while flicking her back.
“Where are we going and why are we going there?” she replied.
“Naraku.”
And that's all he said. So Akyta was still mostly in the dark about what was going on. She was going to press him for more information but one look at his face told her that wasn't a good idea.
Jaken watched the two demons. Over the days he's seen Sesshoumaru's behaviour change. He was acting more like a child. Once he even pushed Akyta into a lake as a joke. And then a few days earlier he saw Sesshoumaru hold down Rin and tickled her crazy while Akyta laughed in the side lines. Jaken wasn't quite sure what was going on but he wasn't last long. It was just not right. This Sesshoumaru wasn't the same one that saved him many years ago. This was an immature creature that he couldn't fully understand. He scratched his head. Maybe the arrival of Akyta had caused this sudden outburst. But what was so special about the cat demon? He looked at her with a sceptical eye, what was going on? Why was it always him that was full of questions that he knew couldn't be fully answered.
Rin skipped along happily. The past few days had wonderful for her. She felt like she had a family. Every morning she would wake up with Akyta smiling down at her with something to eat and during the day instead of running around Jaken, singing songs. She played games with Sesshoumaru and Akyta. She loved the change in him. She didn't know why but she didn't care. The horrible dreams she had of her family were changing. Her dad's hair grew long and white; her mum produced a tail and ears. And they were no longer being killed in front her eyes they were playing with her.
Rin looked ahead at Akyta and Sesshoumaru walking side by side flicking each other. She smiled to herself. Then ran up to them, grabbing Akyta's tail and giving it a little pull. Sesshoumaru reached down, picked her up and tickled her. It was getting dark and the group settled down to sleep. Rin curled up near Akyta. She dreamed of how her life was getting better. She dreamed of how she was treated like something special, after all that time of being beaten and sworn at, the times she had no one to turn to for a comforting hug. She heard a sound and looked up. She saw Akyta and Sesshoumaru hugging and looking at each other. She giggled mischievously and closed her eyes to sleep.
Akyta sat snuggled up with Sesshoumaru looking up at the sky. Her mind racing. Sesshoumaru tilted her head forward so that their eyes met. She blushed and looked away. A hundred thoughts ran through her head. She looked back at him, his eyes full of warmth. He leaned in to kiss her but she looked away she couldn't do it. His face filled with confusion. She smiled, “I was just looking at Rin. What's the matter?” she quickly made it out she didn't figure out his intention of kissing her. She still had the memories of her childhood. And then her plan. Should she go through with it? She leaned her head on his shoulder. Or should she not?
