The group set off again. Akyta wasn't so sure where Sesshoumaru was leading them. But she made up a plan during the night and she had to stick to it. They were walking along in the forest silently. Without any warning two wolf demons and five wolves jumped out, grabbed Akyta and were gone. Sesshoumaru glanced qt the place where Akyta was once standing, then turned back and continued walking. The group then hear a scream coming from the forest it was quickly muffled. Rin ran to Sesshoumaru and fell at his feet, tears in her eyes, “Please Sesshoumaru-sama please get her back. She was the closet thing I've ever had as a mother. Don't let her die. Please don't please.” Jaken came by her side, “Yes Sesshoumaru-sama, that cat demon girl is quite useful to us.” He patted his stomach. Sesshoumaru stood for a bit contemplating what to do next. He looked at Rin her hands over her face crying her eyes out and then to Jaken who was licking his lips and patting his stomach probably remembering the breakfast they had. He thought some more and turned to the direction where Akyta was taken. He started to walk at a quick pace I might as well get her back for Rin and Jaken's sake. And she's a good fighter she could help in some ways, he thought while he hurried through the undergrowth. He hadn't gone far when he reached a dead wolf, its neck ripped apart with claw marks. We'll at least she put up a fight. Then a couple of metres away was a second dead wolf. He took in the scene and also noticed that one of the wolf demons were now injured. He continued, quickening his pace.

 

 

 

Akyta kicked about wildly. She had already taken down two of the wolves and one of the wolf demons carrying her now had a big gash in his right arm. “What do you want? Where are you taking me?” she screamed at them. They just looked at her and laughed. One of them said slyly, “What do you think we'll want to do with such a pretty creature,” he licked her cheek. Akyta's face twisted with disgust. She opened her mouth to scream out once again, when another voice spoke out, “You'll do nothing with her.” Then there was a flash of green and the wounded wolf demon fell to the floor, dead. The three wolves stood round the remaining wolf demon and Akyta in a protective circle. Akyta now with one arm free reached for her weapon and stuck it deep into the remaining wolf demons neck, blood poured out, he made a gasping noise and fell to his knees. The wolves turned at her growling menacingly. She pulled her weapon out of the demons neck allowing the body to flop to the floor. She winced a little as a sharp pain cut through her stomach, damn this stupid wound she thought. The wolves pounced at her simultaneously she quickly reached for her second weapon and slashed an X in on of their throats. But she was out numbered the other two were still coming. Another flash of green and the two wolves crashed to the floor. One twitched manically before finally dying. Akyta knew too well what had just happened. Sesshoumaru had saved her once again. He stepped out of the darkness and walked over to her. “Why do you keep on saving me? I came just yesterday wanting to kill you and now you've-”

“Let's go.” He said in monotone. He turned away and started walking. Akyta stared mouth hanging open, “What exactly is your problem?” she got no answer. Akyta shrugged her shoulders and followed him. After a while they reached where Jaken and the rest were waiting. As soon as Rin saw Akyta, her little face creased into a huge smile, then she ran head on at full speed towards her, arms out stretched. Akyta hugged the little girl tightly, picking her up and swinging her around. The two of them were overjoyed they began to play the `catch the tail' game. Laughing and giggling as Rin tried her hardest to grab hold of it. Jaken stood surprised at the scene unfolding in front of him. He looked up at Sesshoumaru and was greeted with an even bigger surprise. Sesshoumaru was actually smiling. It was a small smile barely visible but it was definitely a smile. Jaken looked at Rin and Akyta then back at Sesshoumaru. He was confused in what exactly was making him smile. He looked up at Sesshoumaru again and the smile was gone. Had he just imagined it? Or was Sesshoumaru actually happy about Akyta and Rin. This is another thing he'll have to wait and see.
