Sesshoumaru and Akyta stared at each other in silence. “I asked you already. Why did you save me?”
Sesshoumaru smirked, turned away and continued walking. Akyta didn't like that one bit. She slid herself off Ah and Un and limped up to him, “I asked you a question. Why won't you answer me?” She swung him around. He looked her up and down, “save your strength,” he sneered.
It was night time. Akyta rolled over to make herself more comfortable. Sesshoumaru walked over to her and watched her sleep. He was wandering what possessed him to save such a creature. He knelt down next to her. He noticed how beautiful she looked especially with the warm glow from the fire. He stroked her cheek. She stirred; he snatched his hand as if she bit him. She opened her eyes. Those beautiful big green eyes. He thought to himself. She looked up at him, their eyes met but this time there was no hatred. He ran his hands through her hair. She sat up and leaned towards him till their noses were practically touching. He took her chin in his hand and kissed her passionately. She closed her eyes enjoying the warm feeling that was coming over her. He slowly pushed her back down on the bed.
Akyta shot up. Sweat streaming down her face. That was the weirdest dream she had ever had. She looked around; Jaken was snoring away leaning on Ah and Un who was also fast asleep. Rin was sleeping next to her all snuggled up. Sesshoumaru stood wide awake looking outward as if on guard. He must have sensed he was being watched because he turned around suddenly, “what's wrong now?”
Akyta didn't like the tone of his voice. “Hmph,” she replied. Then flicked her hair and turned away. What an arrogant moron, she thought, talking to me like I was still a whiney child. She stuck her chin up, “Hmph” she said again. She slowly eased herself to standing and strolled into the forest remembering a near by lake they had passed earlier.
She tested the water with her foot and seeing that it was okay she removed her clothes and slipped into the water. She let out a sigh of relief as the cooling water softened the pain of the wound. She closed her eyes and drifted into semi-sleep. She thought about the events that happened over the last couple of weeks. Finding a new brother (kind of), getting wounded to the point of nearly dying, then the luck of finding that precious little girl, who lead her to her enemy number one, who just recently saved her life. What a stressful time she's having. She slipped further into the water until only her eyes and ears were showing. She had no idea what to do next. Most of her life she has been hunting for that evil minded dog demon and when she finally finds him, he's looking after a little girl and saves her life. She can't possibly kill him now that would just go against all her morals. Maybe if I repaid the favour by saving his life…no that doesn't make any sense because then I would try to kill him after. She sat there for quite a while thinking hard about what she should do.
It was early morning when she came back to the group. Sesshoumaru looked at her with a look that clearly meant, `where have you been all this time?' she replied to this look by holding up some fish and saying, “I went to go get breakfast, why would you care anyway?” And she strolled over to the fire and started to set up the food. Sesshoumaru stared. He didn't have anything to say. What could he say? So he just stood there with his arms folded leaning on a tree with a smirk on his face. He knew that she didn't spend most of the night trying to catch a couple of fish. And he knew that if he asked her she wouldn't give him a straight answer. So he jus stood and stared. Jaken woke up nose twitching, he opened one eye slowly and seeing that his nose was correct he jumped up wide eyed. Akyta handed him a cooked fish, “There you go, eat up.” She said and gave him a warm smile. Then she went to Rin and tickled the child's nose with the tip of her tail. The child giggled and grabbed it. Akyta leaned down and kissed her on the forehead, “I have breakfast for you little one,” she said while handing her the fish. Rin reached for it enthusiastically and munched on it happily. Akyta sat down to eat herself after supplying fish to Ah and Un. They all ate happily. All except Sesshoumaru, its not that Akyta didn't bother get one for him, it was jus that Jaken had a second helping. Jaken went up to Sesshoumaru patting his stomach with satisfaction. “This cat demon girl could actually turn out to be quite handy. She cooks well and looks after Rin as if that girl was her own.” Sesshoumaru nodded slightly. He thought to himself, yes she's very nice indeed, but was it not just yesterday when she was a threat. Its quite odd how she changed suddenly over night.
