Early the next morning Elandra awoke to Rin's laughter. Apparently Jaken had done something foolish and it was very amusing to Rin. But her laughter soon ceased as Sesshoumaru appeared. Elandra sat up and took a drink of water never taking her eyes off the demon lord.
Standing with his back to her staring off over the stream he spoke, “We will not divert from our path. I am sure that you will gain information about your sister as we travel.”
Though Elandra did not like this idea she agreed. After all she had made a deal with Sesshoumaru and she could not go back on her word now. The best way to find her sister was with his help in this foreign land.
Midday found them traveling along the same path as the day before with little change. Since they had set out that morning there had been no break from the constant walking. In an instant a scent caught Sesshoumaru's nose. He paused and took it in again, the scent was almost the same as the girl traveling with him. He looked back at her and peered into the forest.
Elandra's keen sense of smell picked a familiar scent though it was faint. She took off without a word following her nose. She came to a part of the forest that was just short of destroyed. Deep ridges scared the earth, trees were cut down or had limbs barely left clinging to their base. At the edge of this destruction she found blood stains on the ground. The blood was from her sister. Elandra stood wondering what could have done this, a very small trail of drops of blood lead away from the battle scene.

Giving Sesshoumaru no time to catch up she followed the blood. She stood atop a hill overlooking the village. She did not feel the presence of her sister. A human approached from behind that had been gathering herbs in the fields. She cut her eyes to the short, heavy built woman standing behind her. It was Kiade.
“And who might you be stranger?” Kiade asked.
“I am Elandra. I search for my sister. Tell me old woman, where is she?” Elandra replied hastily.
“I see,” Kiade began. “You sister has traveled south in search of you.”
“You lie!” Elandra hissed angrily as she stepped towards the old woman. “I followed a trail of her blood here, if something has happened to her you will tell me.”
“She was attacked by a demon sent to destroy her by Naraku. She was badly injured but recovered. She heard that you were searching for her and decided to try and find you.” Kiade replied backing away from the demon.
“Naraku.” Elandra growled. “I'll have his head.” And she took off in a flash of light.
As she traveled quickly over the land she began to again approach the area where her sister had been injured a few days before. She recognized Sesshoumaru's scent and stopped. Sesshoumaru stood carefully examining the battle scene, but his attention was quickly diverted towards her. He eyed the shadows calmly and took in a deep breathe to capture her scent.
“You know who is responsible for this?” he asked looked back at the scared earth before him.
“Naraku is the name I have been given.” She replied.
“Yes, Naraku's scent is here along with your sister. But do you not pick up the scent of the third demon?” he asked coolly turning his golden orbs toward her.
Elandra took a deep breath. Her eyes began to again glow a bright green. “It is a scent very much like your own.” A low growl came from her throat as she pulled her sword from its sheath. “If you know something now would be the time for you to come forth with it.”
A small playful grin came to his lips. His silence and coyness angered her even more. `He knows something and I will make him talk.'
With her sword held in front of her parallel to the ground she began to speed towards him. “You will tell me what you know!” she demanded.
Sesshoumaru was quick to draw out his demon sword and prepared for her first strike at him. Their sword clashed with a sound like thunder. Repositioning himself Sesshoumaru pushed her back. She caught her footing quickly `I am tired of playing these games.' She thought to herself. She jumped high into the air turning a flip and landing behind him. She then, with anger boiling over her, came at him fiercely swinging her sword, but Sesshoumaru was quick to step back and she only barely caught the sleeve of his hoari. He then pushed forward with his own attack. He leapt forward at her swinging his sword from left to right aiming for her stomach. Arching her back and hunching over slightly she was able to dodge his attack. Holding her sword in her right hand came down following the stroke of his sword in an attempt to disarm him. But Sesshoumaru quickly moved his sword and arm out of her path, spun himself around and raised his sword high into the air coming straight down from overhead as if to slice her in half. She met his sword with her own blocking the blade from impacting her skull. To reinforce the blocking of his strike she had to place her free hand on the blade. Sesshoumaru pushed down harder with his sword forcing the demon girl to kneel before him.
Elandra glared up at demon standing before her. She could see he held a look of victory on his face. She began to slowly struggle to rise from the ground pushing back with every ounce of strength she could summon up. His eyes flashed in disbelief as his sword was being pushed back. Rising to stand on both feet she stepped back and with both hands reposition on the hilt of her sword swung as hard as she could. He met her strike, but she quickly with drew and swung at him again and again. Her attack on him became increasingly violent. Sesshoumaru was being pushed back. Finally she was able to swing hard enough to knock the sword from his hand.
Sesshoumaru stood giving the girl a death stare. He raised his right hand out before him as a whip of light extended from it. He whipped at the girl all the while she was leaping around dodging his whip until finally the end caught her leg slashing it open. Her crimson blood began to trickle down her leg. Pausing to check her wound, she felt the searing heat as the whip sliced open the hand she held her sword with. Swiftly she tried to grab her fallen sword but Sesshoumaru snapped his whip sending the flying from her reach. Having lost her balance while trying to take back her sword she lay on her side staring fearfully at the demon who had just overpowered her.
As she tried to rise to her feet again she felt a hand grab her by the neck. Before she realized it she was dangling in the air, her feet unable to touch the ground, held only by one hand of Sesshoumaru. She grabbed at his hand trying to pry it off her throat unsuccessfully. He raised his right hand as it began to glow a yellow green with poison. Struggling to free herself from his grasp she pulled up on his outstretched arm and with kicked with both feet into his stomach. Sesshoumaru's eyes grew large and he was thrown off balance falling forward.
They landed in a very awkward position. Elandra lay flat on her back, Sesshoumaru's hand still on her neck. His body was on top of hers and he had landed right between her legs. As Sesshoumaru gathered his senses she bent her left knee and reached for her boot. Sesshoumaru gazed into her teary green eyes having repositioned his poison claws right in front of her face. Elandra pushed his right hand away from her face with her left and with her own right hand held a dagger to his throat. She then pushed up with her left foot and managed her way on top of him.
Sesshoumaru had no expression upon his face as he looked up at the beautiful demon girl. She pressed the dagger against his skin. Her tears had disappeared and now angry green eyes peered back at him. “Tell me what you know!”
Something flashed in Sesshoumaru's eyes. He began to slowly push the dagger back from his neck with his free hand as she loosened her grip on his other hand. With both arms now free Sesshoumaru pulled her down to him meeting her lips with a passionate kiss. She released her frustration into that very kiss as did Sesshoumaru. After a few moments Elandra pulled away staring into those hypnotic golden eyes and then returned herself to her feet. Sesshoumaru declared to himself silently `I will have her.' As Elandra realized she longed for the same thing.
After a few moments of silence Sesshoumaru began to speak as he returned to his feet. “The scent which is similar to my own is that of a half demon named InuYasha.” Sesshoumaru approached Tokijin and returned it to his side. “He, unfortunately, is my younger brother and judging from what I see here may have come to your sister's aid. Find him and you will find your sister.”
“So you believe they may be traveling together?” she asked.
“If Naraku is after her I am sure of it.” Sesshoumaru replied with his deep voice.
“This Naraku has many enemies I see.” Elandra replied returning her sword to its sheath.
“Yes and I am one of them.” Sesshoumaru replied as he approached her. “I warn you princess…” he began capturing her in his eyes. “Attack me again and you shall not live to see your sister.”
Elandra dropped her head ashamed of her actions against Sesshoumaru. “I am sorry.” She said. “I have very little control when it comes to the well being of my sister.”
“Then I strongly advise you to work on that.” Sesshoumaru replied. “Now that Naraku is sending his warriors after your sister her life is in danger.”
Elandra stood wondering to herself why he would be after her sister.
“Naraku seeks your sister, and I seek Naraku.” He stated as he began to walk away.
Elandra stood consumed by confusion as she watched him walk away. Sesshoumaru paused and looked back at her from the corner of his eye. Understanding this was her queue she walked quickly to follow the demon lord.
