When morning finally came Kiade and Shippo went to tend the garden. Sango decided to polish her weapon and take in some practice. Miroku decided to take a walk to do some thinking while InuYasha stayed by Akira's side. He sat in the corner of the hut watching her chest as it rose and fell as she breathed sleeping. Not long after everyone left he noticed her breathing pattern change. He kneeled down beside her as her eyes opened.
The wound almost completely healed and her strength was returning. Her now deep blue eyes opened as the life had returned to them. She gazed deep into his amber eyes lovingly. “InuYasha.” She smiled.
Seeing her almost back to normal relieved his anxiety. He returned a small smile to her. She reached with her hand to take his. “Will you help me up? I would like to go for a walk.” She confessed. InuYasha gave a nod and helped her up gently.
Without anyone noticing they made their way into the forest of InuYasha. Akira asked about her sisters' body, what had happened to it. InuYasha informed her that Sesshoumaru had taken her. He went on to explain about the Tensaiga and its power to bring souls back from the dead. Akira was overjoyed by the thought her sister might still be alive. They continued walking for a moment in silence.
“InuYasha,” Akira began. “It is no secret that I long to be by your side.” Her blunt statement blew him away, never had expected her to say something like this. “But I need to know what is in your heart. I know that Kagome means a lot to you, but…” Her voice trailed off in a whisper as her eyes looked to the ground. “I feel as my soul, my heart is complete when I am with you.” She said. “I fought the darkness to come back to you.” She said returning her gaze to his eyes. “This must sound so foolish to you.” She said as she pulled away feeling embarrassed by her own words.
As she pulled away he began pulling her to him. He embraced her tightly. “I was here, waiting for you to come back.” He whispered. She returned the embrace graciously burying her head in his chest. She looked up to him as he ceased the opportunity to kiss her once again. Their lips met gently, innocently at first. As the contact made both their bodies long for more, simultaneously their mouths opened and their tongues danced passionately as the kiss became more aggressive. InuYasha pulled her closer feeling her soft curves under her cloths pressing against his body.
His member began to enlarge and she felt it pressing against her. As her excitement grew her womanhood began to moisten and InuYasha was overtaken by her scent. While still embraced, still kissing passionately, they kneeled down to the ground and he took control gently swaying her to lay back. He slowly ran his hand up her outer thigh feeling her soft skin and continuing up her side caressing all her curves.
She lay there enjoying the feel of his hands on her body and the sweetness of his kiss. But soon he pulled away and began to nuzzle her neck kissing it lightly. InuYasha released a low growl which excited her even more, and she returned a light moan. She felt his long silvery-white locks as the draped across her bare skin. She could feel the strength in his hands, the begging of his body to loose control as he became more excited. He raised his head looking deep into her blue eyes for an instant before returning his lips to hers.
A cool mid-morning breeze carried a familiar scent to InuYasha's nose. Akira's sweet scent was tainted by it. He pulled back from her and it was a few moments later before she realized why. Both quickly rose to their feet scanning the tree. A sinister laugh rang out from before them. Naraku stepped out cloaked in his baboon pelt with Kagura and Kanna at his side.
“Naraku!” InuYasha yelled as he reached for his Tetsuaiga. Akira reached for her sword forgetting it was left behind in the hut.
Back in the village Miroku and Sango had returned to the hut to find Akira and InuYasha gone. They sat waiting for their return avoiding the obvious question that plagued their minds. What was going on? Silence fell between the two and Miroku stood quickly. Kiade came rushing in a few moments later.
“Do you feel an evil presence?” Kiade said grabbing her bow.
“Naraku.” Miroku said. “Let's go Sango.”
Sango rose to her feet grabbed her weapon and headed for the exit. On her way out she saw Akira's blade propped against wall. Something told her to bring it with them. As they quickly made their way upon Kirara's back towards the scent of Naraku,
Naraku taunted InuYasha.
“InuYasha did I interrupt?” he laughed. InuYasha growled angrily. “Is this why you refused to kill him for me?” Naraku asked turning his attention to Akira. “Are you taken by this pitiful excuse for a hanyou?”
“We'll see how pitiful I am when I destroy you Naraku!” InuYasha barked.
“So InuYasha you've found yet another woman to entertain you for a while.” Naraku said.
Akira's heart skipped a beat in that moment. Even though she deeply cared for him she did not want to be `in the way'. “Tell me Akira,” Naraku continued. “If you take such pride in yourself, why are you adding to the list of women of InuYasha? He betrayed Kikyo sending her to her death and he has deserted her reincarnation, Kagome.”
“Shut up Naraku! You are the reason Kikyo died!” InuYasha yelled.
“Spare yourself the disappointment Akira. Kill InuYasha and you will have the life you deserve, the life you are accustomed to at my side.” Naraku offered.
She lowered her brow in response, “Never.”
Naraku bowed, “As you wish…” Kagura stepped forward and began her attack.
InuYasha was quick to return a wind scar countering her blades of wind. Miroku and Sango arrived as soon as the battle had begun. Quickly they dismounted and rushed to InuYasha's side.
“I figured you would need this.” Sango said tossing the sword to Akira. She smiled in gratitude after catching it. “Thanks Sango.”
“Stay back Akira. I'll handle this.” InuYasha said confidently.
“I can handle my own.” She said unsheathing her sword.
“You are not at your full strength, so just hang back.” He said annoyed.
Akira glared at InuYasha, “I don't need someone to protect me!” InuYasha glared back at her.
“Look out!” Miroku said pulling Sango back.
Kagura had taken the opportunity to attack again as the two began to argue. InuYasha stood before Akira and stabbed the ground with his sword to block the blades of wind again. Kagura gave a coy smile and Naraku grinned evilly.
A voice rose from behind them, “So it seems you have found someone just as stubborn as you.”
Akira turned to see her sister standing along side Sesshoumaru. “Elandra!”
Elandra smiled at her younger sister overjoyed to see she was alright. Seeing the smile and sensing the manner of her Akira rushed to embrace her. While the two sisters embrace Akira whispered into her Elandra's ear, “I am sorry. I let you down.” Her eyes began to sting as they filled with tears.
“No little sister, I am the one who let you down and father as well.” Elandra replied choking back her own emotion.
“How touching.” Naraku said as he unveiled himself, revealing his appearance. He still had his human form, but also demon body parts. His armor was made of the bones of demons that he had absorbed shaped in arches that covered his shoulders with spikes. Behind him several large green squid-like arms waved in the breeze. His evil aura was completely revealed. As he exposed himself Miroku, InuYasha, and Sesshoumaru were impressed at his new found demonic power.
“He wasn't this strong last time we faced him.” Miroku said as he approached InuYasha's side preparing for the coming battle.
“Keh, like it matters.” InuYasha sneered. “I'll kill him regardless.”
Elandra and Akira stood watching as Sesshoumaru walked ahead of them towards Naraku. He drew his sword as he approached where Miroku and InuYasha were standing. “Back down InuYasha.” He said in his deep voice. “Naraku is mine.”
“That's not going to happen!” InuYasha growled. “I'll be the one to kill him.”
“Here we go again.” Miroku said to himself as no one was listening as the two brothers exchanged angry glares to one another.
Sango was standing off to herself taking in everything. `But where is Kohaku?' she thought to herself. Her eyes scanned the surrounding trees wondering if maybe he was standing in the shadows. Fear began to take over her heart as the thought that Naraku may have taken the jewel shard from him and killed him. As she stood consumed by worry Naraku turned his attention from the arguing brothers to her direction.
“Sango,” he said. “What is it that you are searching for?” An evil grin came to his lips as he enjoyed her suffering.
“Naraku you bastard! What have you done with Kohaku?!” she yelled out running towards him. Naraku only laughed in responses to her question. InuYasha and Sesshoumaru both turned their attention as Sango began her attack.
“Sango look out!” Miroku called to her. Sango looked behind her to see her younger brother Kohaku sailing through the air towards her holding his weapon high in the air ready to strike. She froze in her tracks and turned placing her hiriakotsu before her to block his blow. Kohaku struck with great force, enough to make Sango step back from the impact of the blow.
“Kohaku!” she called out to him. He stood before her making no response. She looked into his soulless eyes. He was under Naraku's spell. He attacked her again sending his weapon flying through the air towards her. Again she used her hiriakotsu to protect herself. “Kohaku stop this!” she pleaded with him. Under Naraku's command he then turned and ran into the forest. Sango called to Kirara and followed him. Miroku also perused them.
Elandra and Akira had been distracted and failed to notice as Kagura carried out Naraku's command to kill them. She attacked the sister with her dance of blades. As the blades of wind began approaching the sisters shredding everything in their path Akira grabbed her sister by the arm pulling her away from their path.
“Perhaps you should pay more attention.” Kagura laughed. She looked straight at Akira, “InuYasha may have saved you the first time, but this time I will kill you and your sister.”
“I would like to see you try!” Elandra said angered by the audacity of Kagura's attack glaring at her. Her eyes began to flash glowing neon green. Elandra drew her sword and in one smooth vertical swing sent flames in Kagura's direction. Akira stood in awe. She had never seen this move by her sister before.
Kagura grinned and with a wave of her fan sent the flames back at the two sisters. Elandra stepped in front of her younger sister holding her sword before her. Her blade parted the flames and they passed around the sisters. Elandra looked over her shoulder to her younger sister. “Draw your sword!” she commanded. “Together we can take this bitch down!”
Akira had been in admiration of her older sisters attack and failed to realize she too was battling here. She drew her sword and stepped out from behind her sister and to her side. Kagura raised her fan high in to the air and called out for a different attack. “Dance of the Dragon!”
Whirlpools of wind began heading towards the sisters. Elandra jumped from her spot toward them slicing at them with her sword. `She's going to be killed!' Akira thought to herself. But before she could do anything her sister was able to cut down the wind using her sword. Akira again stood stupefied. Elandra looked back at her younger sister, “What the hell are you doing?” she yelled out. She quickly jumped back to Akira.
“I can't fight her.” Akira replied. “All I can do is block her attacks.”
“You have more power than you realize!” Elandra scolded her. “Now is the time you need to find that power!”
Akira sword began to pulsate with a purple light. “What is this?” she said looking at her sword.
“Do you think father would give you a worthless sword?” she glared at her sister.
Kagura again sent blades of wind at the sisters as they stood talking. Elandra quickly snapped her head to see them approaching quickly. Akira swung her sword as she stepped forward. A purple tinted barrier appeared where she swung her sword and the blades of wind were deflected.
Kagura looked down at Kanna who had been standing at her side. “Are you going to do anything or just watch?” she said annoyed. Kanna looked up at her innocently and then faded into a white colored mist.
“Seems she left you to fight on your own!” Elandra laughed. Kagura attacked again with the dance of the dragon.
This time both sisters leapt at the whirlpools of wind that came towards them. Akira found that her blade was also useful in cutting them down. While the two sisters were battling the attacks of wind sent their way Kanna appeared behind them. Just as Elandra had cut down the last whirlpool of wind she began to feel a sting throughout her body. She was frozen and her body rose into the air. Akira turned to see a white energy flowing from her sister into a small round mirror that Kanna held in her hand.
“Elandra!” she called out, but her sister was paralyzed. She ran towards her but a barrier rejected her throwing her back several feet.
“Foolish girl!” Kagura laughed. “Kanna's mirror absorbs souls. Soon your sister's soul will be gone.”
Akira quickly rose to her feet watching helplessly as her the life was being sucked out of her sister's body. “No!” she said. Her sword began to tremble once again in her hand. She ran at full force towards Kanna. She raised her glowing sword in the air. She swung down at Kanna as hard as she could. The energy flow was broken as Kanna began to move back trying to dodge the blow. Akira's sword did not land in time to strike Kanna, but it did meet with the mirror knocking it from her hand. Kanna stood back watching as Akira broke the mirror with the heel of her boot.
