Miroku was having ideas of hooking up Inuyasha and Kagome. He was going to end all the nonsense about Inuyasha and Kikyo, and make Inuyasha realize that he loves Kagome. Miroku swore he would do that. He was going to make up a plan tonight after everyone went to sleep.

 

“Kagome, I'm kinda tired, I think I'm going to go to sleep early.” Miroku lied smoothly.

 

“Ok Miroku, I'll tell the others to set up so we can stay here.” Kagome said.

 

“Kagome, can I ask you something?” Miroku said out of nowhere.

 

“Sure. What is it?” Kagome said in her usual innocent voice. Miroku loved her voice, even over Sango's. He was starting to think he didn't really love Sango, but now he was thinking off topic.

 

“Kagome, do you love Inuyasha?” Miroku asked, and it was not a question he first intended on asking, for it was quite obvious, but he just wanted to hear it. After he said that, Kagome immediately started blushing.

 

“Miroku, I need to be honest with you…although it's quite obvious right now…………yes, I love Inuyasha.” Kagome replied, and her blushing stopped. She was actually pretty happy that she admitted it.

 

For some reason, when Miroku heard that, it pained him a lot. He had a very sad expression on his face then, although this was ruining his plan. He was starting to think he loved Kagome, and now he was not as intent on making Inuyasha and Kagome a couple as he first was when he got the idea.

 

Kagome immediately noticed his sad expression and gave him a hug.

 

“Miroku you are one of my best friends, and I thank you for allowing me to finally admit that I love Inuyasha to someone….so I owe you…but don't get the wrong idea…” Kagome said, hoping he wouldn't ask for TOO much…

 

“Kagome…I need to tell you something. Although I didn't know it at first now I realize it…Kagome, I love y..” But he got cut off as Inuyasha jumped towards Miroku, attempting to decapitate him.

 

“WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TRYING TO DO, YOU STUPID MONK! FLIRT WITH MY KAGOME! YOU'RE JUST LIKE KOGA!!”

 

Kagome and Miroku were both surprised at this. 1: Inuyasha just came out of nowhere and 2: Inuyasha just said `MY Kagome'. Since when did he consider Kagome HIS? This was odd….

 

Inuyasha took Kagome in his arms and locked his eyes with hers, his eyes quite painful.

 

“Do you love Miroku?” His voice was much gentler then when he first came.

 

“No Inuyasha. It's the other way around.” Kagome said, and she knew that the very sight of Inuyasha holding her made Miroku jealous.

 

“Inuyasha you idiot she loves YOU!! NOT ME! YOU! I WISH I WERE IN YOUR POSITION BECAUSE I WOULD LOVE IT IF KAGOME LOVED ME!” Miroku shouted angrily and ran off.

 

“Kagome…you…love me?” Inuyasha asked, almost sounding pleading.

 

“Inuyasha I've loved you for so long, how could you not see it?” Kagome said, and it was the truth.

 

“Kagome, I love you too..” Inuyasha said, and he was just realizing he loved her.

 

“Inuyasha…this may sound like I'm asking for too much…but…I want to stay by your side…so don't leave me by going to hell with Kikyo…please…” Tears were forming in Kagome's eyes.

 

Right then he kissed her, a deep, passionate kiss, and they must have been kissing for at least 20 minutes. After they finally separated, they started walking back to where the others were staying, and held hands all the way.

 

Miroku was walking towards a river, he just wanted to get some water on his face and cool off. He was bitterly jealous. Now he wanted to stop Inuyasha from being with Kagome. But somehow he was happy for her. She was happy, she found the man she loved. And as long as she was happy, he was ok. After all, he loved her, so, it was natural for him to be a little happy for Kagome.

 

Kagome was so incredibly happy. She wanted to run around screaming like a little girl who had tried on make-up for the first time, but she didn't. Right now she didn't have a care in the world, except for Inuyasha. He was the only thing she cared about at the moment. He was everything.

 

Inuyasha never wanted to let go of Kagome's hand. He was so stupid not to realize that he loved Kagome sooner, but he was grateful that he realized it at all.

 

“Inuyasha, we owe Miroku for this.” Kagome said suddenly.

 

“What? What do we owe that lecher for?” Inuyasha said in an unpleasant tone.

 

“Just think: if it wasn't for Miroku being in love with me, we wouldn't be together right now.” Kagome said, making her point.

 

“You're right I guess. But how do you expect us to repay him?” Inuyasha's tone lightened up a little bit.

 

“I don't know. But I think we should go to sleep for now. It's gotten really late without us noticing.” Kagome said.

 

“Ok.”

 

“One more thing, Inuyasha…”

 

“What?”

 

“Can I tell the others about us now?”

 

Inuyasha started to blush a little “I don't know if we should wait or not…”

 

“Are you embarrassed that we're together?” Kagome said angrily.

 

“No! We can tell Sango and MAYBE Shippo…but what if we run into Koga? You probably don't wanna tell him.” Inuyasha said the part about Koga in an irritated tone.

 

“If I told Koga then I would have an excuse for him not to flirt with me. But tell me something Inuyasha…”

 

“What now?”

 

“Were you ever jealous when Koga flirted with me?” Kagome asked curiously.

 

“Jealous of him? Feh, someone must have poisoned you for you to think something that stupid.” Inuyasha said in a cocky tone.

 

Kagome sighed “So you never cared about me like this until now?” Her voice was very depressing.

 

“No! Of course I did! But I knew all along that you didn't like Koga…ok fine I admit it I was really really jealous!!!” Inuyasha shouted.

 

Kagome's face lightened up and she threw her arms around Inuyasha's neck. Inuyasha seemed a little bit confused but he put his arms around her too.

 

“Inuyasha, I've never been this happy in my entire life, ya know.” Kagome smiled as she hugged him.

 

Inuyasha just held her even tighter “You know Kagome, I'm really happy with you, too. You never tried to change me. You love me for who I am. Kikyo tried to turn me human. But you insisted I stay who I am…” Inuyasha said softly.

 

“Inuyasha, I don't want you to change…you're fine just the way you are! There's nothing wrong, and your ears are cute…in a good way, I mean!” Kagome smiled innocently. Inuyasha had an irritated look on his face until Kagome rubbed his ears. Inuyasha started to drool, and Kagome just giggled.

 

“Kagome, look at the moon.” Inuyasha said suddenly in a gentle tone.

 

“A full moon…and it's blue! It's really beautiful.” Kagome said cuddling up to Inuyasha.

 

“Just like you, Kagome.” a familiar voice said. It was Miroku.

 

“Miroku what are you doing here?” Inuyasha said, holding back anger, for he knew that Miroku loved Kagome, and he didn't want anyone else flirting with his woman.

 

“Well, I wanted to see Kagome. You both know that I'm in love with her, but I didn't come here to flirt with her…much.” Miroku said.

 

“Miroku, what is it?” Kagome said in her usual sweet, gentle tone.

 

“Kagome, didn't you say that you owed me?”

 

“Well…yes…but…”

 

“I wanted to know how you are going to repay me.” Miroku said with a grin on his face.
