Chapter 2 unexpected awakening

 

 

`Why do I feel so hot? Mom turn down the heat it's to hot. Somebody help…'

 

“H...Hel.p.” Kagome awoke with a start felling absolutely horrible. `I must have gotten sick, but how and when. I'll just call for mom to help me out.' “Mom!” hack hack. She closed her eyes again and waited for a reply. She heard soft foot steps outside the room and the door start to slide open. `Wait, my room doesn't have a sliding door.' The foot steps continued until they reached the side of the bed.

“What is so wrong that you had to disturb my sleep?” Her eyes shot open at the sound of the voice of the cold demon lord of the west. It was then that it all came rushing back to her. Running out in the cold rain because of seeing Inuyasha kissing Kikyo. `I must have fallen asleep in the forest. But how did I end up at Sesshomaru's castle.'

She suddenly felt and strong, firm hand on her forehead and looked up into the eyes of the formidable demon next her. For a split second she could have sworn that she saw a glint of concern in Sesshomaru's eyes. `That's impossible, Sesshomaru could care less.'

He suddenly removed his hand and started to walk towards the door. Before he left he turned back to look at her and said, “I will send a servant later with food for you, until then I suggest you get some rest to help bring your fever down.” He was just about to leave when he heard Kagome speak up.

“Thank you Sesshomaru,” she whispered.

Sesshomaru just looked at her and said, “I need you alive to get the Tetsaiga from my poor excuse for a brother nothing else.” With that he left the room.

Kagome listened at the sound of his footsteps disappear down the hall. When they could not be heard anymore she closed her eyes. `Just when you think it can't get any worse. Will anyone truly love me and not just use me for selfish reasons.'
