Chapter 5

That was all Kagome could read…that last part as her heart now felt like it was being squeezed to death, giving way to despair she started crying as if she lost the pup already. `The pup is going to die…I'm going to kill it before it's even born…'

 

The scent of distress was radiating heavily off Kagome as she cried more. `What is this Sesshomaru to do? If she continues her powers will purify the pup in her distress.' Thinking on instinct alone Sesshomaru pulled Kagome into a hug so she could cry on his shoulder. Beginning to purr, he licked and nipped on the crescent moon mark on her shoulder in an attempt to calm her further, but nothing seemed to be working. Already her powers were starting to flare to life, he could feel them starting to push against his demonic aura. Using his last attempt left he opted to speak soothing words to her. “Kagome?”

 

*heavy sobs*

 

“Kagome it will be alright.”

 

*sobs lessen*

 

“I give you my word that nothing will happen to the child or you.”

 

*crying is reduced to whimpers and hiccups* `Did he…did he just promise to protect me…us?' *whimper* “Did you (hiccup) just say you would protect us?”

 

`Yes her powers are receding! That's it just calm down.' “I give my word that neither of you will come to harm.”

 

`I don't know why but I feel safe in his embrace…even safer then when Inuyasha was holding me…has Sesshomaru started to hold a place in my heart?' Moving back to look at him Kagome reached up and gave him a small kiss on the side of the check. Then she turned away with a slight blush at the act of affection.

 

`Did…did she just…kiss me?' At that little gesture that cathedral (castle or great fortress) that his heart was enclosed in collapsed leaving a feeling of warmth that the Tai-Youkai had never know till now. `what is this feeling? This warmth that she gives me? Is this what humans call love? Is this what father felt with mother and that whore that was Inuyasha's mother? No Izayoi was not a whore just a woman who fell in love with a demon. Is this why you took her after mother left?'

 

Kagome looked back up to Sesshomaru as he was looking at her.

`She mush want a tour of the cast and the city below…though before that she may want a bath…' Deciding to break the ever lasting silence Sesshomaru opted to speak. “Kagome?” She looks up at him.

“Would you care for a bath?”

 

At the word `bath' Kagome nearly jumped for joy but before she could she winced in pain as the pup decided at that moment to make itself a `pain'.

 

Sesshomaru seeing her in pain placed his hand over her stomach and gently force some of his demonic aura to calm, the pup. Setting back into a quiet slumber.

 

(A/N Once pregnant the pup only takes a full day to form into a miniature hanyou after that it grows. Also they are in tune with what is going on outside.)

 

Standing up Sesshomaru pulled Kagome up then lead her out into the hallway and over to the left side and slid open another door that lead to an indoor hot spring. Looking at it Kagome went bug-eyed at the size of it. It could easily fit two of Sesshomaru's true form lying down but there were islands dotting here and there for people to sit and relax against. “This isn't a bathtub, it's a swimming pool!”

 

“Bath-tub?”

 

“oh it's much, much smaller than this, it's where people can get showers and lay and soak for a few hours if they wanted to. Speaking of bathing…are you going to get one as well?” Kagome asked innocently.

 

“You wish to bath with this Sesshomaru.” It was a statement not a question.

 

*Blushing profusely*

“No! I didn't mean it like that…I just don't want to be alone…”

 

`She is unsure of her surroundings…this will prove…amusing.'

 

“Can you please turn around so I can get undressed?” she asked with still blushing.

 

`Though mated she still has an innocent heart and her purity is unmatched.' Doing as she asked Sesshomaru turned around while she stripped down and got in, looking over her shoulder before she got in .

 

His beast opted to speak.

-She is beautiful, with that scent of lavender and fresh Sakura blooms. She is a heaven sent creature that has a kind heart to all she meets-

 

`She's even trying to see past our faults for taking her'

“Are you coming in?” Kagome asked from behind a rocky island. Sesshomaru pulled out of his own thoughts undressed and got in and waded to another island near the far right corner where it was deepest. There he leaned against an island letting his hair float around him. “Sesshomaru do you have you having anything I could wash my hair with? Sesshomaru?” `Well where did he go?' Wading as quietly as she could she made her way to where Sesshomaru had gone. Getting to him she found him…
