InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Vampire Angel ❯ the article ( Chapter 3 )

[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]

Thank you Amacklo for reviewing. It was `diffrent.' Now on with the story. Let's hope it comes out good. This story will only have Kagome's point of view and the author's point of view. Maybe Inuyasha's point of view. I don't know about that one yet.

The Vampire Angel
Chapter 3: the article

Lately there have been a number of deaths in the last month. It started shortly after I visited Sango. The victims are being sucked dry of their blood and the bodies are just being left to rot. Sango and I both know it isn't vampires. We aren't messy, we cover our tracks. This psycho posing as a vampire must want the attention. And I need to find him and kill him before any more people get hurt.

*************

I read the headline on the Shikon Jewel today. It was shocking and could be bad for Sango and myself. The headline read, “Vampires in Tokyo?” and when I looked farther down at the author I dropped the paper. “Written by Inuyasha Takani.” This doesn't look good.

*************

I ring the doorbell. Only have to wait two seconds this time.

“Have you seen this?” I ask Sango practically shoving the paper in her face. She takes the paper from me and starts reading. Her eyes grow wide and then she looks up at me.

“Oh, this is bad. You realize this article could expose us?”

“Heh, tell me about it and yeah I know that.”

“Come on inside so we can talk about it” I come inside.

“What's there to talk about? There's a psycho out there trying to act like a vampire and the people are getting suspicious about it. They could raise a search for all vampires.” I start rambling.

“Honey, calm down.” She says as she hugs me. “This isn't the 18 hundreds anymore. They aren't going to do that.”

“I know. Just a little jumpy. I need to make this stop.”

“You mean start tracking?”

“Yes, and I need to go talk to the author of the article.”

“You realize how stupid that is?” she asks like it's obvious.

“I'm gonna do it.”

“You can't do that. You could mess everything up, you are prone to mess everything up.”

“Don't try to talk me out of it. I gonna do it. I need to do it.”

“Just be careful of what you say.”

“Hey, I'm careful.”

“Right.” she says sarcastically. I walk out of her home.

I'm actually nervous. And I don't get nervous. I never thought I'd have to come face-to-face with the person I've been protecting. Well, it's happening. Let's hope it doesn't blow up in my face.

Sango and I are worried that the article could expose vampires. Some creatures are still thought of as fantasy. Humans and demons are the ones that are real. But the vampires, werewolves, zombies, any monster; those are the fantasy. And angels, but I'm the only one. We don't want to scare people more than they already are with the demons, cause not all demons are good. Imagine how terrified humans would be to know there are more than just humans and demons. So you see why we like to stay hidden. Except for those idiots who are killing humans noticeably. Those are the ones I dispose of.

I also don't want Inuyasha to get deeper into this story, cause every time he does that he gets in situations that could kill him. And it really frustrates me. So I'm just gonna have a talk with him about that, but I have to make it seem like I've never met him.

I walk in through the glass doors. I come up to the front desk. In the seat at the desk is a woman who looks a lot like myself. She must be my sister's descendant. I bet if we got a blood test we'd be related. I come up to her and see she's dressed a little inappropriate for my taste.

“Can you tell me where I can find Inuyasha Takani?” I ask her. She looks up at me.

“Oh, Inuyasha Takani is down there at the end on the left.” She replies.

“Thank you.” I walk down the hall filled with cubicles. I come to the last one on the left and the seat is empty.

“Looking for me?” a voice asks. I look at him. He looks even better up close. He has some papers in a file in his hand.

“Your Inuyasha Takani?” I ask as if I don't already know.

“Yeah, what's it to you?” he asks. He has nice voice.

“I realize your writing the article on the vampires.”

“Yeah?”

“Well, you do realize how dangerous it would be to go along with this, don't you?” he sits down in his seat and crosses his arms.

“Danger is what I live for. And I like writing stories that have to do with danger.”

“But you realize your getting into a story that has to do with a complete psycho that could be dangerous to yourself.”

“As I said before I live for danger. It's what I'm good at.”

“Well, yes, then couldn't you just do it in a way where you will less likely be killed.” I say frustrated, my voice getting higher.

“I can't control the situations that could get me killed. They just happen. That's what it takes to get the story.”

“Well, that's a very stupid reason to die for.” I say then I walk out. I can't take being around him any longer. Two reasons for this. He's so frustrating and second, his human blood is calling to me.

I'm outside the building about a half a block away. Then Inuyasha comes behind me, takes my arm, and turns me around to face him. He seems pissed. Not my problem.

“What is up with you? Who are you anyway?” should I tell him my name. I try not to connect to people. It's just worst for them and me. Doesn't matter. I've already come in contact with him when I said wouldn't. I'll just tell him.

“I'm Kagome. Kagome Higurashi.” I say. I don't think my name comes up anywhere in history so I can use my real name. Then I leave him as I walk home. He doesn't follow.

*************

Kagome walked away leaving Inuyasha on the sidewalk. Something about how she said her name made him stay put. He just stared off after her when she left. That was weird. He thought to himself. I wonder if I'll see her again. Most likely if I go along with this story. But why did she care if I go along with it? I don't know her. That's what he thinks.

***************

Inuyasha had a dream that night. It really was a memory. A memory of when he was taken. When he was taken 13 years ago. It was a little fuzzy. He remembered being scared. He remembered the vampire that took him. He remembered the fight between the vampire and the vampire angel. He remembered the girl. But he couldn't remember her face that clearly. He remembered the girl saved him. The teenager that killed the one that took him.

Inuyasha woke in a cold sweat. He hadn't had that memory in years. Why did the appearance of the girl that came in today change all that?

“Hey, you ok?” asks Kikyo, his girlfriend, in a concerned voice. She saw how scared he looked just then.

“Just had a bad dream.” Inuyasha says.

“Well, go back to sleep. Maybe it won't come up again.”

“Ok” he says. I hope your right.

3rd chapter done. Feels good. Yes I had to make Kikyo his girlfriend. You'll see what happens later. Please review. Until next time.
