InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Vampire Angel ❯ his curiosity ( Chapter 6 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
I'm back! Thank you Sailor Draca and demonic jedi master for reviewing. And Lil Babe0206 for reviewing twice in a row. I had a really fun time on my trip. The only downside was we saw no whales. Except the ones at SeaWorld but they don't count. It was fun on the sailboat though. Enough about me though.
On with the story.
The Vampire Angel
Chapter 6: his curiosity
You know when I said vampires don't sleep? That was mostly true. When we get really weak we pass out. And after I wake up from this weakness I can't move for a while. I'm fighting myself to open my eyes. I feel something wet on my forehead.
My bright blue eyes open to find Inuyasha over me adjusting the wet rag on my head. He looks in my eyes as he sees them fade into the gray/silver. My eyes aren't only gray/silver when I'm really thirsty. They get this way if I get as weak as I am now. I really need blood right now and the only source I can find at the moment is the guy in front of me looking over my wounds.
Most of my wounds have healed while I was `sleeping'. My shoulder is still shattered. My gashes and scratches are just faint scars that will disappear in a few hours. My body is tingling from the pain. It doesn't hurt as bad anymore. I can barely move though. I look at my shoulder to see it bandaged up. I look back at Inuyasha.
“Did you do this?” I ask in a raspy voice. I clear my throat.
“Yeah” he says. Short and simple.
“Can I ask you a favor?” I ask with a clear but weak voice.
“What?”
“Can I drink some of your blood? I really need it.” I say not looking at him cause I know it's a weird question to ask of him.
“If you really need it…sure.” I smile.
“What do I have to do?” he asks.
“Hold out your arm.” He rolls up his sleeve and holds out his arm.
“Now you need to tell me to stop when you feel weaker and if I don't listen shove me off. Ok?” I tell him. He nods. His arm is tense. Maybe he expects me to bite him. Hmm. Amusing.
I cut a slit in his forearm with my nails. Then I start to drink the blood. It tastes better than I could have imagined. The demon blood gives it a zesty kind of taste. It's interesting and I want more. I barely hear him when he says to stop. Then he shoves me like I said to. I whimper. Sad I can't have more of his zesty blood. But it wouldn't feel right to have more anyway.
My eyes fade into a chocolate brown again. I take his arm and close up his cut by doing the same as I did when cutting it open. My nails are in a blue light when I do this though. I look at him through half-lidded eyes.
“Thanks” I say mildly weak.
“No big deal” he says casually. Idiot. It is a big deal. Then he seems concerned.
“Are you ok?” he asks.
“I'm better,” I say. I try pushing myself up in a sitting position. I hiss loudly remembering my shattered shoulder. I lay back down on the couch. It feels lumpy but I realize it only feels that way because my wings are out. They have splattered dried blood on them. I reach over with my good arm and touch one of my splattered wings.
“So you know what I am now. What do you want to know?” he looks at me. He looks like he wants to say something but just won't.
“You saved me when I was 6.” It wasn't a question. I nod to confirm it.
“Who was it that captured me?” I get a small smile on my face.
“My ex-husband.” He looks me over.
“You look to young to have a husband.”
“Trust me. I'm way older than you.”
“How old are you?” I look off past him.
“18” I'm glad he got what I meant instead of asking my real age.
“How long have you been 18?” I pause.
“A long time.”
“Why did your eyes change from when I saw you before?”
“What color?” I ask, hoping for him to specify.
“Brown”
“That's my natural eye color.”
“Blue”
“That's a color I get when I'm mad, when I'm fighting, and when I'm drinking.”
“Silver.”
“That's a color I get when I'm really thirsty or really weak.”
“When you came in after I got that concussion, what were you then?”
“I was really thirsty and I had to leave quickly before I lost control.”
“What do you mean before you lost control?”
“Before I couldn't stand not having your blood anymore and killed you for it.” he gulped. I smiled.
“Why didn't you bite me?” I have a confused look on my face.
“When?”
“When you drank my blood.” I look at him for a while before I start laughing. He seems annoyed by this.
“What?” he asks irritated.
“Hollywood has corrupted your mind.”
“What do you mean?”
“Vampires don't have fangs. So I couldn't bite you. Well, I could but it'd be messy.” I open my mouth and tap my teeth for emphasis.
“What else is there that Hollywood got wrong?” he asks in a cocky sort of way.
“We don't sleep at all—“
“What do you call what you just did now?” it was my turn to have an annoyed look on my face.
“Passing out. Can I finish?” he pretends to zip up his mouth.
“I can go out in daylight, it just hurts. Not too bad but enough to annoy the hell out of me. You could take my picture but it wouldn't come up well. Actually it wouldn't come up well 30 years ago but it might work now. I can't change into bats. You can see my reflection in mirrors. Just because you didn't invite me into your house doesn't mean I can't come in. crosses and garlic aren't poison to me. I don't eat. And I can live forever unless you kill me with fire or decapitate me”
“That's just your vampire half?”
“Pretty much yeah.”
“What about your angel half?”
“I could already live forever as an angel. The vampire just makes me easier kill. I couldn't die as an angel but I have the possibility of dying as a vampire.”
“Were you born this way or what?”
“Vampires can't be born. I thought you would at least know that. Guess I was wrong.”
“Hey!”
“Anyway, to answer your question. No, I wasn't always like this.”
“So what were you?”
“I was human.” I can tell he's getting irritated I don't just come out and say it.
“What happened then?”
“I died.”
“How did you die?”
“I had a fever and didn't have the advanced medicine you have now.”
“You died at 18?”
“Yeah”
“Then what?”
“I was brought back as an angel”
“Why”
“I don't know. Maybe I was a good person and they chose me. I just don't know.”
“Chose you? For what?”
“To rid the world of those who don't deserve to live”
“Whoa. Sounds like a big job.”
“Duh.”
“How'd you get to be a vampire too?” I bit my lip.
“I went on like that for 42 years. Then I met him.”
“Him who?”
“The one that turned me. The one that took you.” I say as I look him in the eyes.
“You were married to that freak?” he asks incredulously.
“Yeah, crazy huh?”
“I'll say. Then what?”
“After he turned me I got a divorce and he disappeared for 49 years.”
“And?”
“You came in” I say as I smile at him.
“Oh” he says and looks down.
“And that's it.”
“Why did you come back in my life now? I look down and hesitate.
“I was always in your life. You just didn't know it. I watched over you for 13 years to make sure nothing like that would happen to you again. And I guess your vampire article gave me an excuse to see you face to face.” He looks like he's thinking hard over this.
“I think I should go. Do you have a balcony?”
“Yeah I do. This way.” He says as he walks down the hall.
“Thanks for saving me back there. Guess we're even.”
“Not even close.” I start to take off but my wing feels like it's on fire. It wasn't until now that I realized I broke my wing. The pain brings me down to my knees.
“Maybe you should stay here. You could always leave tomorrow.”
“No. I really should go.”
“Just stay. I'm sure your wing will be fine by then and then you can leave. What? You that anxious to get away from me?” he teases. I smirk at him.
“Oh, yes I can't be around you for another second.” I sarcastically say. “I just don't want to do something I'll regret.”
“I'm sure you won't. You can sleep in my bed.”
“Don't you remember me saying I don't sleep?”
“Oh right. Well, you can rest in my bed. It's better than the couch.”
“I don't need to. You need to sleep more than me anyway.”
“Would you just accept offers when they're given to you?”
“Fine but I don't need it.” I say then go to his room. He sits down on the couch across the room from the bed.
“Just go to sleep Inuyasha.” He shakes his head. He's so immature.
“I don't need to, I'm not tired.” Right. Sure he is. In about an hour he was asleep and Kagome's wing was healed. Her shoulder was still shattered but she could still fly.

Inuyasha woke up to find Kagome gone. Where'd she go? He thought pacing his room. Then he noticed a note on his bed.
Inuyasha,
Nice try. Told you, you need the sleep. Try not to worry so much. That's my job. I'm pretty much invincible, remember? And listen to that Miroku friend of yours every once in a while. See you later. Maybe.
Kagome
I bet you're gonna see me again, cause I sure as hell ain't listening to Miroku.

That was it. I wanted to wait longer before he found out about her but I just had to get it out of my head. Hope this was good. Next time I think Inuyasha meets Sango. Until then.
