InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ The Vampire Angel ❯ is it over? ( Chapter 14 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Sorry guys. I know I said soon but halfway through the chapter (I take breaks) I got put on computer ban. And I couldn't finish the other half right because my co-writer was away. But now she's back so this might work.
Thanks to Lil Babe0206 and OhxMissxStephi for reviewing. To Lil Babe0206, when you said your first comment didn't come up, then what did it say? And to OhxMissxStephi, when you said the fanfic was just like the show Moonlight, I thought to myself; “is that good or bad?” plus, it morphs into my own creation after I did all I needed to with the moonlight ideas. Around chapter ten I think is when it kinda morphs into my own thing.
This is flashback mode.
On with the story.
The Vampire Angel
Chapter 14: is it over?
“NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!” Inuyasha screamed when he saw Kagome fall.
Something snapped in Inuyasha when he saw her collapse. He stood right up and ran over to kneel down beside her. It burned to use his muscles after the Miasma had been in his system, but he didn't care. All he cared for was Kagome. She wasn't moving and it scared the hell out of him. He checked her neck for her pulse, but instantly pulled away as if burned. She was as cold as ice. He decided that he had to bear through it if he wanted to know if she was alive.
He couldn't feel anything. He was starting to shake. He didn't know if it was from her skin or his fear. She couldn't be dead. It wasn't possible. She told him herself what it took to kill a vampire. Freezing to death was not something she said at all. Maybe it has something to do with her angel half. No, don't think that way. She's not dead. She can't be.
Inuyasha took a closer look at her and thought back to something Kagome once told him.
*****************
“So…if you were to die again, then what?” Inuyasha questioned.
“Care to elaborate?” Kagome countered.
“I mean, what would happen to you? Or how could I know your dead, just by looking?” Kagome stared into his eyes thinking of a good response. She stayed silent for a while.
“I would turn into a human again. That's my reward for all the years. And I won't come back. I will stay dead.”
******************
There's no way. Inuyasha checked her pulse repeatedly, not believing that she could die.
“Kagome,” Inuyasha said, voiced filled with worry.
“Kagome, come on.” He took her face in his hand, much like Naraku had before only more tender. He stroked her cheek.
“Kagome,” Inuyasha softly said while his voice cracked.
“Forget her, hanyou. She's gone. There's nothing you can do.” Inuyasha turned to face him with fury in his eyes.
“You,” he said maliciously, “You killed her.” Naraku smirked.
“That was the idea.”
“I'll kill you,” Inuyasha shouted as he let go of Kagome and lunged at Naraku.
*******************
It's so dark here. Why haven't I passed on yet? I remembered what happened before. And this was not it. I instantly went on. What is this place? What's keeping me here?
“Kagome,” came a voice. It sounds far away. And there's a pale blue light. The voice and the light are in the same place. It's too far away. It feels like miles. And it's hard to move.
“Kagome, come on,” said the voice again. My eyes widen. Inuyasha? What's going on? Is he here with me? Are we both just floating in this dark nothingness?
“Kagome.” He sounds sad. Why should he if we're both gonna see each other soon? Unless…he's still alive? He's alive? He can't be. I saw him. He was dead. Better not to get my hopes up. But what if he really is alive? If I don't try I'll spend an eternity regretting it.
I try moving toward the light. It's hard. Something is holding me back. My wrist seems to be wrapped in chains. It feels like I'm swimming through honey or some other thick liquid. I can still breathe, but I'm engulfed completely by this. I reach toward the light, but the chain is holding me back. Inuyasha. I have to get to Inuyasha.
********************
Inuyasha reaches for one of the blades Kagome always had with her when hunting. He used the blade on Naraku as he made his own Angelfire emerge. The Angelfire took on the appearance of black flames. Inuyasha lunged at Naraku with the sword, which he easily evaded. With every charge Inuyasha made, Naraku always dodged it.
“Stop being a coward and fight me!” Inuyasha yelled as he was able to scrape Naraku with the blade.
“Alright. If that's how you want it,” Naraku stated calmly. Naraku then attacked at lightning speed landing a blow to Inuyasha making him fall to his knees.
*********************
The closer I get the harder the chain pulls. I'm almost there. I can touch the light. I'm only skimming it though. I have to go deeper. Behind me I feel heat. A lot of heat. I look behind me to find flames rising up, the chain in the middle of it all. Suddenly it tugs really hard. I'm losing the light. I kick hard with my legs and try pulling with my free arm.
I'm skimming the light again. I just have to get through. I'm losing energy. I want to stop. I can't though. I kick as hard as possible and grab hold onto something solid in the light. Everything stops, the chain stops pulling and my limbs fall limp from exertion. I want to just drop dead. I stay that way for a while.
*********************
THUD! Hacking coughs escape Inuyasha. He can't take much more. And this is just how he killed…he couldn't even finish the thought. It hurt too much to even imagine. It's still hard to believe, even seeing her right there. I can't do anything to him. How am I supposed to beat him if I can't even touch him?
Inuyasha slowly stood up only to be knocked back down. He won't be able to stand this for long.
********************
I'm in a daze. I'm just hanging here. I'm still so tired. Then the chains pull harder then ever before and I almost slip. I grip hard on the object and try to pull myself forward. The light is whitest here. I pull with everything I have. It hurts. Excruciatingly. I don't stop. I feel the chain fall away from my wrist and I'm flying threw the light.
Now it's dark. What? Am I back in the darkness? Was all that effort for nothing? I hear things going on around me. I try to force my eyes open, to see if I'm back in the dark. I crack them open and am shocked by the light. It's not much, just moonlight, but it's startling to see after all the shadows.
I slowly sit up and look at my surroundings. I find Inuyasha fighting Naraku. And he's losing.
“INUYASHA!!!!!” I cry to him. His head snaps in my direction and he looks so taken aback.
“Kagome?” he asks in an incredulous voice. I realize my outburst distracted him and gave Naraku a good opening. Naraku's strike sends Inuyasha flying in my direction.
“Inuyasha,” I say with concern as I touch him to check for injuries, which is kinda stupid because he's bruised all over and bleeding in places. I move us behind a crumbling wall to get out of the crossfire.
“You're alive?” he asks.
“So are you,” I answer. I hug him to make sure this is real. I hear him cry in pain.
“Oh god. I'm sorry,” I gasp.
“No, no. It's alright.” He smiles to assure me he's ok. For the second time that night I cried.
“Hey hanyou. I thought you wanted a fight,” comes Naraku's hateful voice.
“Why haven't you killed him yet? Haven't you listened to anything I've told you?”
“Well, it's a little hard to kill him when he keeps disappearing.”
“Can you stand?”
“Course I can. Can you?”
“That's not important now. Do you have one of my swords?” he holds up the sword in his hand.
“When he flits toward you, thrust your sword through his chest.”
“What if he gets away again?”
“I'll be there to finish it. Go!” Inuyasha walks out to the middle of the floor waiting for Naraku. He's disappeared again.
“Time to die, hanyou.” Naraku declared before running toward Inuyasha. Just before he was about to stab him Naraku vanished again only to appear behind Inuyasha. But I was there this time.
“Goodbye Naraku,” I said evenly. He turned around right into my dagger. He looks at me as if asking “why?” Then his face turns to rage as he starts to burn up from the wound. Flames erupt from the gash. I have a bad feeling about this. I grab a hold of Inuyasha and start running.
We hide behind the crumbling wall as we hear Naraku writhe in pain. I look from behind the wall to see him scrambling on the floor. The dagger is still stuck in his chest. The flames are consuming his body. They're coming out through his mouth and his hair.
Now he's unrecognizable as the flames completely engulf his body. I see the flames expand, as his body becomes ash. My eyes widen. This doesn't look good. I duck behind the wall before the flames quickly spread around. Inuyasha holds me until it's all over. We peak over the wall to look at the damage. Everything within a ten-foot radius is burnt to a crisp. A pile of ash is all that is left of Naraku.
“It's over,” I whisper as I turn around and slump down the wall. Inuyasha sits next to me and wraps an arm around my shoulders. I rest my head and his shoulder and he lays his head on mine.

Sorry guys for all the going back and forth. Can you tell I like flames? But aren't you all happy Naraku's finally dead. It seemed like he just wouldn't die. I'm currently experiencing the same problem LunaStar was. And that is my mom hasn't paid the phone bill, therefore no Internet. You'd think LunaStar would be laughing this up, but when I called her she was just sarcastic the whole time. She was like, “Gee, I wish I knew how that felt like.” Now I'm gonna try working on The Closed Door Just Might Open. Just so you know this story's almost over. Sorry there wasn't as much Inu/Kag fluff as you wanted. Until next time. Please review.
