I'm SOOOOOOOOOO sorry. I can't even tell you how sorry for being gone so long. I had volleyball season and 2 tournaments, tons of stuff to do for my sister's wedding. And I couldn't think of ANYTHING. It was so frustrating the whole time. I know you guys are like “stop making excuses” but that's how it was. I'm really sorry for making you wait. To hear Kagome in pain awakened something in Inuyasha. When the scream erupted from her throat Inuyasha's heart took a leap, a very noticeable leap. Kagome just couldn't see it in her current condition. This was only the first step though. He still had to go through the struggle of waking up. Easier said then done.

 

As soon as Inuyasha heard Naraku's overconfident voice Inuyasha wanted to wake up right then and there and rip his throat out. Wait, that wouldn't work based on what Kagome said. He would just have to decapitate him instead. That was an alternative he could live with. If only he could wake up.

 

Kagome's scream made him sort of come back, in a way. He just needed to find a way to wake up fully. He hoped he could do it before something drastic happened in the fight.

I lunged at him with the Angelfire. He disappeared right as my blades grazed him. What? Vampires can't do that. He materialized right before my eyes, and then shortly but roughly kissed me. All I could feel was the fire from my anger. I violently wipe my arm across my face, trying to get the taste of bile out of my mouth. He mischievously laughed at getting away with stealing a kiss.

 

“How did he do that?” I whisper as he disappears again.

 

Again he appeared before me, “How do you think I did it?” and he disappeared again. I couldn't find him anywhere. Every time he vanishes, his scent evaporates with him.

 

“Get out here and fight me, you coward!” I yell as I look frantically around.

 

He shows up two feet away, but I'm too slow to react. His elongated nails slash across my face and make my blood drip to the floor. The force of the impact makes me fall to my knees. I could feel feet shuffling through this. I see black flash across my vision before I feel a vicious kick to my side. I'm coughing up blood on the floor. The glow from my skin dims.

Sango and Shippo happened to notice a change in Inuyasha, them being vampires. They rushed over to him to notice him breathing. Sango knelt down to Inuyasha and felt his forehead. He was still cold, but not as cold as ice like before. He's warming up. His fingers were twitching slightly.

 

“How can we get him to wake up?” Sango asked Shippo. He just looked at her incredulously.

 

“Why are you asking me? I'm just a kid. How would I know? I don't even know how he got like that.”

 

“And you think I do?” Sango went back down to look at Inuyasha. How can we get him to wake up?

 

“Start rubbing some friction into him,” Sango ordered Shippo.

 

“What?”

 

“Rub some friction into him. Maybe if we warm him up, he can wake up faster.” She started rubbing his arm vigorously while Shippo did the other. Come on, Inuyasha. You gotta wake up. If you don't Kagome will die.

 

Sango and Shippo weren't focusing on the fight so they weren't expecting it when Naraku came.

 

“You will not ruin my plans,” he said maliciously before he struck them both knocking them out.

 

“NOO!!!” screamed Kagome from her place on the floor stained in her blood, directing Naraku's attention to her location.

Inuyasha was still struggling. He could hear what was going on and it was killing him not being able to do anything. He finally was able to open his eyes. Not wide, but he could open and see around him. It was at this time he wished he couldn't. He saw Kagome across the room in a bloody heap with Naraku coming right at her. He had to do something but he was still immobile.

 

He tried as best as he could to move something. The most he could do was make a fist. He slowly moved over onto his side and bent his arm under him. He gradually tried to push himself up to his knees. He couldn't get to his feet yet. He had to hurry before Naraku killed Kagome.

I saw Naraku coming toward me. When he was right in front of me I made my Angelfire turn up and tried to slash him in his stomach. His hands glowed white just before he caught my blade and diffused the flames. Impossible. How is this happening? His mere presence sends a chill up my spine. Actually, it's really cold. The cold is coming from Naraku. His presence is what's so cold. This cold is unbearable. It's so cold it hurts to feel it on my bare skin.

 

His glowing hands reach down toward me. I shy away from them, not wanting to experience a cold more ferocious than just from his being there. One of his bone chilling hands grip my throat and slowly raise me up to my feet. My glow instantly fades away. The iciness from the touch leaves my skin a pale blue. I'm shivering like crazy; my teeth can't stop clacking. My breath is coming out in short, visible puffs.

 

“H-how is t-t-this poss-sss-ible? I killed you. A-and n-now you're back w-with th-these unreal powers,” I manage out through the chatters. His hand moves towards my cheek. The cold travels to my lips, turning them purple. My teeth feel like they've had ice cream dumped on them. This freezing feeling is so painful.

 

He looks at me with a frightening smile and speaks softly, “You don't know what I went through to get back to you. When you killed me, there was nothing. But those killed like me went to where I was sent and I killed their souls and absorbed their power. It wasn't easy, I can tell you that. Luckily, I knew you still killed and I've been collecting from them. I just needed enough to come back.” He moved his hand toward my hair and tucked a strand behind my ear. It felt like a scar of ice journeyed from my forehead to my ear. Everything hurts, and I can't move. The icy feeling leaves me vulnerable. This is what he wanted, wasn't it? For me to not be able to do anything as he killed me.

 

“So…n-now…you're…g-going to…kill…” I try to say, but it's getting harder to talk. The ice is going to freeze my mouth shut. It's hard to move it right now. I've lost my sense of touch; I can't feel anything. All I can feel is cold all over. Cold as death.

 

“It's been nice knowing you Kagome,” he whispered before he kissed me. He kissed me long and hard; he wanted me to remember this. He wanted me to remember the way I killed him first. But he's not gonna stab me later. This kiss is my death. When his lips touch mine, the rest of the color in my face drains away. I'm unresponsive, but he doesn't seem to care. He appears to be enjoying this. I'm so frozen, I haven't moved any part on my body.

 

When he releases me my whole system shuts down. My wings vanish and I feel even weaker. The Angelfire dissipates in my hands. My highlights die away back into ebony. My eyes just fade into my original brown. I look at him through my half-lidded eyes in revulsion just before I collapse and my world goes black.
