Disaster
The boy's mother searched frantically for her son, never once picking up any trace of him. Finally, at long last, she heard footsteps, but, there were more than just one pair. For safety, she looked behind a tree to find that indeed that was her child, but he also wasn't alone. She recognized that face, that eerie, white glow. This was The Child. Without hesitation, she ran onto the path and blocked their way; arms out in front of her she called to him, “Toru, Toru sweetie come here right now.”
Kanna looked down at the child in her hand then at the mother, “It appears he does not wish to go with you, he would much rather go with me.”
Looking into the eyes of the demon she screamed at her, “TRICKERY! YOU ARE CONTROLLING HIS MIND! GIVE ME MY SON BACK!” with no rational thoughts she picked up a fallen tree branch and swung wildly around at Kanna. With the inability to control his own body, Toru was forced to step in the way of the branch, causing him to get hit and knocked to the side of the path.
Durei (mother's name, just clearing it up if you didn't remember) gasped as she realized who in fact she hit. She ran over to her son but was forcefully pushed back, unable to get through the barrier that protected him.
“See what you do to your own child? He is safer with me.” Kanna said as she walked over to the boy named Toru. Kneeling down to his side, she whispered, “Do you see? Do you see how much she hates you? Destroy her, destroy her so that you can live with me and be happy.”
A single tear feel from Toru's eyes as he shakily stood up. His eyes once pure and full of life were now vile and hollow. Toru stared at his mother with a look of hatred, and then looked up at Kanna, “This is what I have to do to be happy?”
”Yes, Toru, she doesn't want you to be happy; she just wants herself to be happy. Why did she not come for you before the dawn?” Kneeling down again, she whispered into his ear, “she was trying to abandon you, she didn't want you.” Smiling at the child's wide eyes, Kanna looked back at the mother with humor, “Once pure is a child's heart, so easily can it be mislead into the darkness.”

Durei looked on in astonishment as her son hung his head in shame, his body racking with tears and sobs. None of the things The Child was telling him was true, none of it.
“Sweetie, no, I didn't come back for you because I wanted to trust you. I just-“
”NO! I know how much you love older brother! He's so much smarter and stronger! You always compliment him and leave me behind. I won't be left behind any longer.” He said as he raised his hand out to Kanna. She handed him a long spear with a demon's tooth as the blade; sharpened and shimmering in the moonlight.
”No, baby, Toru please, don't listen to her don't….please…”
Kanna's eyes glistened over in pure white as she gave the boy the strength he needed to take down this pathetic woman. As Toru lifter the spear, Durei screamed at Kanna.
”NO! DON'T MAKE HIM DO THIS! STOP CONTROLLING HIM!” She cried as she lunged towards Kanna. “HE ISN'T LIKE THIS! HE-“She stopped dead as Toru's spear tore into the soft flesh on her stomach.
His face was paled, but he showed no hint of sadness nor did his eyes tear; he didn't even look as his mother fell to the ground.
”I will not be second best any longer…” Toru said as he walked towards Kanna.
