Chapter 6
The minute Kagome stepped pout of the shadows, Sango lowered her weapon, and stared with wide disbelieving eyes at the reincarnated priestess from the future.
The minute Kagome stepped pout of the shadows, Sango lowered her weapon, and stared with wide disbelieving eyes at the reincarnated priestess from the future.
She dropped her Hiraikotsu, feeling the tears well up in her eyes, and ran over to her long lost sister- like friend.
Kagome smiled at the now older Sango, setting the neko down before being pulled into a deathly hug.
Hearing the sobs and feeling the tears fall onto her shoulder. She couldn't help but smile and hug her friend with as much force as she could.
“I thought we'd never see you again.” Sango whispered.
“I'm here now, aren't I” Kagome said with a giggle, as she pulled back.
Sango looked the same, just older. Her hair was longer and her face was more mature. Her body was fuller and stronger.
Footsteps could be heard, Miroku came up behind his wife, “I'd better go check on the girls.” She said as she left to go inside. Taking one more glance at Kagome, mouthing to her `We'll catch up later.'
Walking over, and looking at the hanyou's frozen face. She gave him a push in the back, “Get over there. You're the one who missed her the most.” She said.
Inuyasha looked at her retreating back, and walked over to the monk and priestess.
Kagome nodded with a smile to what her sisterly friend mouthed to her. She looked up at the man that had been like a brother to her. Tears falling down her face. Miroku wiped just a few away, before pulling her into a welcoming embrace, “It's good to have you back.” He said.

“It feels good to be back, Houshi- sama.” She said, using the nickname Sango had given him so long ago. Earning a chuckle from him.
”You will stay for dinner won't you?” He asked as he pulled back

She smiled, “Of course I will.”
Again foot steps were heard; Miroku looked back and smiled at Kagome before walking away. Inuyasha was walking over to them, and when Miroku walked past him and into the hut, “Now's your chance.” He said in words that only the inu hanyou could hear.
He stopped again and watched his retreating back as well.
His ears flicked back, picking up the sound of the grass being stepped on. He looked back, only to see Kagome walking over to him, still crying, and a smile present on her features. One he couldn't help but smile in return. She came to him, until she was a few inched from him. The small crapes and patches of dirt on her outfit didn't concern him as much. The scent of happiness let him know that much.
He brought a hand up to cup her cheek. Rubbing her smooth skin delicately. Her eyes drifted closed, enjoying the warm feeling of his rough hand against her skin.
“I can't believe you're here.” He said.
Kagome looked up at his golden gaze. The eyes that she had always loved. The shade that she found mesmerizing since day one. Tears only flowed down more and more.
He watched as the tears slid down her cheeks at a quick rate and fell off of her jaw, striking his haori and darkening the coarse red fabric that she had missed. His head moved, tongue reaching out and drinking her tears with soft strokes at the corner of her eyes. A low growl rumbled in his chest as he tasted the texture of her skin.
Kagome's eyes had closed when she had first felt the gentle sensation of his tongue against her cheek. Now they opened again at the soft admission. Her hand touched his cheek, as she looked into his eyes again, “I couldn't stay away. I had to come back. I love you too much to leave you forever.” She said.
Inuyasha pulled her closer into his embrace, kissing her cheek, “I've missed you, too, Kagome. You have no idea.”
Her scent, her sweet soft scent. Oh, how he missed her. He inhaled the missed but not forgotten scent in her hair. “I love you too.” He whispered and pulled back, as he rested his forehead against her's.

As he stared intently into her eyes and began lowering his head, Kagome met him half way meshing their lips together in a passionate bond.
His sharp fangs nipped at her lips between kisses, but never once nicking her or giving her pain. His lips on hers felt amazing, incredible . . . just as she imagined it years ago, if not better.
A growl came from inside Inuyasha's throat as he licked her lower lip with his asking for entrance with total abandonment.
He turned his head slightly allowing himself better access to her soft lips. He gently parted them with his tongue and touched her tongue sensually with his. Kagome moaned softly in sweet acceptance and wrapped her arms around his neck pressing herself more firmly against him.
Back then, she probably wouldn't even think of doing this. Ever. They were both young and reckless, not only that, but they had Naraku to deal with, so as much as she wanted it to happen, she never thought that it would.
He pulled back from her, both needing air. Nuzzling his nose against hers, smiling sweetly. One that he only presented to her and her alone… even on occasions back then.
Kagome smiled back at him, and closed her eyes. Pressing her face then, into the joint of his neck and shoulder, allowing him to hold her and rock her back and forth gently.
Next thing he knew, looking back down at her, she was on the verge of sleep. He shook his head, and bent down to pick her up bridal style, just as he did then.
This action surprised her slightly, but to quickly relax as he brought her inside.
Not caring about the stares the monk and demon slayer gave him. Shippo had come back inside after seeing her. He had really grown over the years, and had learned that when you are reunited with some one you love, it would be best to wait till later to see them your selves.
At the age of thirteen he reached up to every ones upper chest. Well almost every one. His hair was slightly longer and his eyes were greener than they were. He smiled, as he noticed that he had regained his foster mother. Who knows, maybe now he gained a father. Inuyasha was always there, so maybe they can have a real family now. Shippo left and went into his room while they were here, leaving his `family' alone till morning.
Sango smiled as she watched Inuyasha set Kagome and sit down. Extending a hand to help her sit as she took a place between his legs. Her head rested against his chest, and his clawed hands wrapped around her waist. Kagome sighed in contentment and happiness.
`Thing have finally gone back to normal now.' Sango thought.
Miroku had come out of a room. Obviously he had set their eldest daughter to bed, and looked over at the reunited couple, “You know Inuyasha. Now you can have a family. Your hut is certainly big enough.” He said.
Neither Inuyasha nor Kagome was really listening, but neither would care.
But he did reply, “Mm-hmm.” As if saying `Yeah, I know.'
`So the hut on the hill, by the well must be his.' Kagome thought.
Inuyasha set his head on Kagome's shoulder as she rested hers against his.
Sango scooped up some stew into a bowl and was about to pass it to them… but seeing that they had fallen asleep.
She smiled again, and set the food back into the pot and covered it. Leaving the fire on, just in case if they got hungry.
She stood and walked into their room, as Miroku followed shortly behind her. Leaving the young couple to their dreams.
Here and now is where they stand. Kagome was once afraid of where the threads met, but now that Inuyasha was back in her life, she no longer cared. The well, had undoubtedly sealed in her last trip, but she knew, that if she stayed with him… and maybe one day she may one day live up to her original time. Knowing fully well about the youkai mating rituals.
They had talked about it once a long time ago. And just before coming inside, he had asked her to be with her… forever.
Even though she was half awake, she heard his question as clear as a bell. And Kagome Higurashi had accepted Inuyasha's, son of the Lord Inu no Taisho, youngest heir to the western lands proposal.
Now and forever, Kagome would remain happy. As well as Inuyasha. His life had been nothing but hell over the years. Before and a little after he met Kagome. But now, he wouldn't want it any other way.
Their lives took off sooner than people would have thought. Within the next few months, Kagome had fully mated with him, and now had his blood coursing through her veins, sharing his life line. Within more moths she found that she was pregnant.
So her life… will continue. Knowing that she would one day see her family again. Who knows, those threads of hers, have and always will be intertwined with Inuyasha's.
Then, now, and later.
Past present and future.
His side is where she belongs.
With him and her newly growing family.
