InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Time Heals All Wounds ❯ A Meeting in the Park ( Chapter 2 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Hi it's me!! Okay this is my first fanfic and I really need a beta!! I also want reviews!! And I don't mind constructive criticism!
I don't own Inu and the Gang! I just loving playing with them ::grins evilly and pets Inuyasha's ears::
Present Day…
“Daddy, look at me I'm swinging high!” seven year-old Shiori yelled to her father.
“Be careful!” Inuyasha called out to his daughter.
“Okay daddy, I will,” she replied to him.
Inuyasha sighed. With her being a bat hanyou, he should have known she would love to be in the air. It's been three years since him and Kikyou split and two and a half years since the divorce was final. Inuyasha was granted full custody of Shiori and Kikyou had visitation rights, although since then she only came to visit Shiori a handful of times. It seems that she didn't want anything to do with her.
Shiori had been in the hospital during the whole thing. Being a miko and a half-demon had its trouble. Usually a charm infused with both the mothers and daughters miko powers and some of the father's blood would keep the child's powers in control. It would also keep them from purifying themselves.
Kikyou, however, did something foolish. She knew Shiori wasn't Inuyasha's the moment she had been born. To keep from getting caught, she quickly infused her powers with Shiori's in the necklace, adding extra to hide her scent and give her dog ears. The action alone unbalanced the charm because Kikyou's powers outweighed Shiori's. And if that wasn't enough she went ahead and infused some of Inuyasha's blood.
Two years later, when Shiori tried to call on her powers, she ended up purifying herself horribly. Without her true father's blood, she didn't have enough demon blood to heal her injuries.
It had been the most terrifying experience of Inuyasha's life. He didn't care when he found out that Shiori wasn't his. He already had a suspicion of that. He just didn't want to lose his baby girl. She was his world and he didn't want to lose her. Luckily the hospital had the blood of bat demon that was Shiori's blood type. She survived, but she had a long recovery.
She now had a new charm, a black beaded necklace with her and Inuyasha's fangs, her and Kikyou's powers and some of the unknown bat demon's blood. It was a very strange combination but it helped subdue Shiori's miko powers and her demon side.
“WEE! Daddy catch me!” Shiori exclaimed as she launched herself from the swing and landed in Inuyasha's arms.
“Shiori that was dangerous. What if I wouldn't have caught you in time?” Inuyasha told his daughter.
Shiori looked guiltily at her father. “I'm sorry daddy. I promise I won't do it again.”
Inuyasha sighed and looked at his daughter. He hated it when she was sad. She didn't disserve to be sad.
“It's okay honey. Just please be more careful. Daddy doesn't want his princess getting hurt.”
“Okay. Daddy, am I really a princess?” Shiori asked
“Of course you are. Princess Shiori Takahashi, daughter of King Inuyasha Takahashi and future Queen of Japan!” Inuyasha exclaimed. Well it wasn't a total lie. He, his brother Sesshoumaru, and their father did own most of Japan.
“Yeah, I'm a princess!” Shiori yelled.
“Yep and princesses get to make the King play on the see saw with them. Come on lets go.”
Inuyasha watched as his daughter ran to the see saw. She was so precious to him. But he knew that she needed a woman figure in her life. Oh sure, she had Sesshoumaru's fiancé Rin, but she wasn't around the whole time. She needed someone to be around all the time. Someone she can talk to when she felt like she couldn't talk to him. She needed a mother. It wasn't just that he felt like she needed a mother. He was tired of being alone.
He still loved Kikyou when they got divorced. How could he not since she was his high school lover. They had Shiori when they were fresh out of high school and married soon after her birth. She was the love of his life, but he just couldn't stand being with her knowing what she did. He knew he could never look at her the same way. So this is where he stands, all alone and too afraid to date because he didn't want his scarcely repaired heart to be broken again.
“Come on daddy! You're going too slow!” yelled Shiori. She was already at the see saw, impatiently waiting for him. He chuckled to himself. Even though she wasn't his true daughter she still had some of his personality traits.
“I'm coming, hold your horses!” He yelled with a grin. `One day she is gonna run me crazy' he thought to himself as he went to join her.

“Souten Yamoto! If you keep running off I will take you home. Do you understand?” Kagome asked her daughter. She knew Souten was excited to go to the park, but that gave her no excuse to run off.
“Yes mommy. I'm sorry,” eight year-old Souten told her mother.
“That's alright baby, just be careful,” Kagome told her daughter. Although Kagome was only twenty-three years-old, she felt much, much older. She just couldn't keep up with Souten and didn't want her running off.
“Hey Mommy, can I go play on the monkey bars? Please!” Souten pleaded with her mother.
“Okay, okay. Just stay out of trouble missy,” Kagome replied.
Souten threw her arms around her mother. “Thank you!” And with that she went off to play with the other kids.
Kagome sighed and sat down on a nearby bench. She had a long day yesterday and even though she had the night off, she still felt somewhat tired. She worked two jobs: one as a librarian at the Tokyo library and another as a stripper at the new and popular club The Shikon. She wasn't too proud at her nightly occupation, but it provided her with more than enough money for her and Souten.
Souten was God's gift to her, but when she didn't get her way she could become the spawn of the devil himself. Kagome snorted, `A trait obviously from her no good, bastard of a father.' After she left him, she only saw Hiten on holidays and Souten's birthday. When they left, he actually got off his narrow ass and got a job, a really good one. He was the personal assistant of the singing sensation Kirara and that really brought in the big bucks. Every time he would come to see them, he would have some big expensive gift for her and Souten and would ask her to come back to him. Every time she would tell him no and she wasn't interested in another relationship with him and they could just be friends.
She wasn't being mean, but she just out-grew him. They were together through middle school and in her junior year of high school she got pregnant with Souten when she was only fifteen. Her family, although disappointed with her, told her they would help them with anything they needed. Kagome however, was an independent person and soon got an apartment with Hiten in a quiet neighborhood.
At first, everything was fine and it seemed as though they could really make it. But at the end of Kagome's pregnancy, Hiten's brother had gotten killed in a car accident. This deeply hurt Hiten because he was really close to Manten. He began to neglect work and soon got fired right after Kagome had Souten. When he didn't find a job soon after, Kagome thought he was just grieving. However after Souten turned three, she knew he was just being a lazy ass. She told him he could stay as long as he watched Souten when she went to work. That worked for two years until that night.
After that night, she stayed with Sango for about two weeks. By chance of luck, she stumbled across an old lady at the library who was selling her house. Kagome agreed to stop by and give it a look. When she looked at it she fell in love with it immediately. It was a beautiful and large red brick two story house. It had four bedrooms and three bathrooms along with a kitchen, dining room, living room, a study, and a big beautiful garden. Kagome bought it as soon as possible, using up most of her savings to do it.
Now she was working two jobs to pay the bills and car payments and provide her and Souten with spending money. She could always ask Hiten to just finish paying for the car, but she had too much pride and wanted to do it herself.
She enrolled Souten in Tokyo elementary after that summer. It seemed that Souten was the cream of the crop at the school, but she had some kind of rivalry with another girl there. She didn't know the girl's name, for Souten always called her the “Bat Brat” or the “Scare of the Night” or some kind of childish name like that. Whoever she was, Souten sure didn't like her. That of course wasn't any surprise. Souten rarely liked anyone at all. She is so damn aggressive. `I guess that's something she got from me' Kagome thought.
“GET OFF OF ME YOU BAT BRAT!!!” she heard Souten yell. Kagome sighed and ran towards her. She guessed Souten got into yet another fight. `What am I going to do with her?'
When she got there, however, she was surprise to see a silver head demon trying to keep her daughter and who she thought the “Bat Brat” was from tearing each other apart.

“Daddy, can I go play on the monkey bars?” Shiori asked her father.
“Yeah honey. I'm gonna go sit down over there. I'll come get you when its time to go. Just please stay out of trouble,” Inuyasha pleaded with her. He knew Shiori was no perfect angel and had a temper shorter than his. `Guess that's yet another trait she got from me,' he thought.
“Okay daddy,” Shiori told her father. She then ran off towards the monkey bars.
Shiori was enrolled in Tokyo Elementary and he knew she was one of the popular kids. But she also had a couple of enemies, one in particular he knew of. He didn't know the little girls name but Shiori often referred to her as “Thunder Blunder” or the “Red-Eyed Wench”. Inuyasha sighed to himself, `I just hope she doesn't get in any trouble because of her short fuse.'
“GET OFF OF ME YOU BAT BRAT!!!” he heard someone yelled. Inuyasha sighed and went towards the yelling. He had a feeling this involved his “Bat Brat” and that she was in another fight.
Sure enough when he got there, he saw his daughter, and the girl he assumed was doing the yelling, fighting like no tomorrow. He began to pry them apart, when he looked up and saw the most beautiful woman he has ever saw coming towards the other girl.
~*~*~
As Shiori made it to the monkey bars, she saw her worst hated enemy standing there also.
“Well if isn't the Red-Eyed Wench. What the heck are you doing here?” She asked in an arrogant tone much like her father's.
“Minding my own damn business you Scare of the Night. Get outta here. I was here first,” Souten replied.
“I don't have to go any where you Thunder Blunder. Why don't you go play near the highway or something and while your at it, get hit by a speeding eighteen-wheeled truck” Shiori retaliated.
“I said get outta here bitch!” Souten yelled enraged.
“Make me!” Shiori screamed back, as she went and pushed Souten.
Souten grabbed Shiori and swung her to the ground. She then got on top of her and began punching her. Shiori grabbed Souten's ponytail and swung her to the ground beside her. Shiori got up, got on top of Souten and began hitting her.
“GET OFF OF ME YOU BAT BRAT!!!” Souten yelled. Soon after she said that she felt Shiori get yanked off of her and she was pulled up to the ground. She tried to get to Shiori again, but whoever was holding her back was very strong. She only stopped when she saw her mother run up to her, hands on her hips and glaring at her.
`Oh great now I'm in trouble,' she thought.
`Is that Souten's mother?' Shiori thought. `She is very pretty. And VERY angry.' The glare she was sending Souten made her want to wince.
~*~*~
“Souten Ayumi Yamoto! Are you fighting again?” Kagome asked her daughter.
“But mommy she started it,” Souten whined.
“I don't care who started young lady. I told you no more fighting and you go and disobey anyway? Well I guess you won't be watching any television for a while.”
“But mommy-“
“Don't `but mommy' me. Get over here. NOW!”
Souten hung her head and silently went towards her mother. When she got next to her, Kagome looked up to apologize when amber clashed with blue.
Now that she got a good look at him, she had to admit that he was very handsome. He had snowy white hair and the most gorgeous golden sun-kissed eyes. His elf like ears showed her he was a demon. He was tall, about six feet tall, and had a lean, muscular build. All in all, he was an Adonis.
“I'm so sorry that she caused so much trouble! She didn't do too much damage did she?” Kagome asked the mystery man.
Inuyasha looked at her. She looked so much like Kikyou but then again she didn't. Where Kikyou had cold, dark eyes, this woman had ocean blue eyes that held so much emotion. She was more filled out than Kikyou was and her blood red lips looked so nice and warm he just wanted to lean over and kiss them. `Yeah that's a good way of getting a restraining order, kissing a woman you don't know,' he thought to himself. He was so caught up in examining her he almost missed her question.
“Oh no, not at all. This little one is known for doing her deal of damage. It's quite alright Mrs.…”
“Higurashi, Miss Kagome Higurashi. And mine also does her deal so it wouldn't surprise me if she played a role in this Mr.….”
“Takahashi. Inuyasha Takashi,” Inuyasha informed her.
“Oh, nice to meet you. Well I guess I'll get this little trouble maker home and get her cleaned up,” Kagome replied.
“Yeah same here. Me and Miss Shiori need to have a talk. Nice meeting you also Miss Higurashi.”
“Please call me Kagome. I'll see you around.”
“Okay Kagome. Bye”
“Bye Inuyasha.” Kagome then took Souten's hand and led her out of the park.
Inuyasha stood there a minute watching Kagome's retreating form before he turned and led Shiori to the car. She had a wonderful personality and the most angelic voice. He silently hoped that he would see her again. `No,' he thought `this will only lead to trouble. I'm not ready to date again.' Even though his mind told him this, his heart silently hoped he would.

“Gee mom, if you would've been any sweeter you would have skittles flowing out of you ears,” Souten told her mother.
“You are in no position to say anything Souten Ayumi,” Kagome replied. Souten winced. Whenever her mother used her middle name that meant she was very upset with her.
“Mommy I'm sorry. That Bat Brat started it!” Souten exclaimed.
“Oh so that's the little girl that you don't like,” Kagome said.
“Yeah she is so full of herself. Just because her dad owns half of Japan, she thinks she rules the whole damn school,” Souten sneered.
“WATCH YOUR MOUTH SOUTEN AYUMI YAMOTO!!” Kagome yelled at her. Souten winced. Yep she definitely was in some deep stuff this time.
Kagome sighed as she got and Souten got into her 2005 Mercury Mountaineer, a gift from Hiten, and drove off. Inuyasha Takahashi. Now why did that ring a bell? She almost slammed on her breaks when she put his name and Souten's previous statement together. She just met one of the, if not the most, richest men and Japan. She would have thought he was stuck up or something but he seemed like a pretty nice guy. `I really hope I see him again,' she though to herself. `No I'm not ready for a relationship.' Even though her mind said this her heart was singing a different tune.
Well there you have it Chappy number two!! If you haven't figured out yet Inuyasha is a full demon in this fic. Please review!! And can someone tell me the name of Shiori's father in the series? Thanks!
