“Takahashi, do you mind telling me where exactly are you taking me?” Kagome asked for the umpteenth time that night.
Inuyasha rolled his eyes playfully. “For the last time Higurashi, I am not telling you. That's for me to know and for you to wait and see. Now, tell me about yourself.”
Kagome sighed but relented her questioning, knowing that he wasn't going to tell her anything until they came to their destination.
“Okay. Well I am the second oldest of my mother's four kids. I have a big sister named Sango and two little brothers named Souta and Kohaku.”
“No way, Sango's your sister?”
“Yeah do you know her?”
“No. My friend Miroku goes to the Shikon all the time and he talks about this girl named Sango being the woman of his dreams because `she responds physically when he feels on her ass'. Damn lech.”
“Miroku! Wow this really is a small world.”
“Yeah I guess so. “
“Well anyway, I started working at the Shikon about three to four years ago. I had to support me and Souten, since her father wasn't doing a damn thing at the time.” Kagome inwardly seethed. “I got the job at the library when her father and I officially broke up after an untimely event.”
Inuyasha saw the anger and hurt in her eyes and wanted to know what she meant by that, but he let it go considering that maybe she wasn't ready to talk about this. So instead he just changed the subject.
“Oh, so how old is Souten?”
“She's eight, but she has a mouth on her that belongs on a twenty-five year old.”
“Yeah I know what you mean. Shiori is the same way when she is upset. Although I have to say that it is totally my fault. I haven't been controlling the way I talk around her.” Inuyasha grinned sheepishly.
Kagome giggled. “Yeah, I think it's my fault that Souten has the mouth that she has, too. Mine and Sango. She has the mouth of a sailor and she doesn't think anything is wrong with it.”
They both shared a laugh at that. When he calmed down, Inuyasha looked at Kagome with barely contained amazement. This woman, who looked so much like the woman who betrayed his trust, was nothing like her. Although he didn't fully trust her, she was quickly gaining it.
Kagome looked up during Inuyasha's observant behavior. After awhile she began blushing and lightly cleared her throat, waking Inuyasha out of his stupor.
“So Takahashi, tell me about yourself.”
“Well, you probably know a lot about me since I'm in the media a lot. I am twenty-five years old. I own lawyer firm with my asshole brother in downtown Tokyo. My father owns Takahashi Software and it's used in just about every business across the world. My mother is a wedding planner and owns Izayoi's Way. I have once been married but… it just didn't work out.” Inuyasha frowned grimly as he thought about how the way it all ended.
“You mean Izayoi's is your mother?! But she looks so…young!” Kagome exclaimed.
Inuyasha chuckled. “Yeah I hear that a lot. But seeing as Souten is a hanyou, you should know about demon mating rituals and life-spans.”
“Yes I do. But it still surprises me every time I see someone that is old enough to be my great-grandmother twenty times over.”
Kagome then noticed that the limo came to a stop and looked out the tinted window.
“Mega Ramen?”
Inuyasha shrugged. “I like Ramen. Plus, they offer more food than Ramen. They have just about everything you could ask for.”
Kagome giggled. Who would've thought that the richest man in Japan would prefer ramen over a sirloin steak?
Inuyasha hurriedly got out of the car and ran over to Kagome's side. He opened the door and held out a hand for her. Blushing, she took his hand and smiled as he helped her out of the limo. The doorman looked confused, as it was his job to do this, but shut his mouth at the glare Inuyasha sent his way.
They walked in to the restaurant and up to the waiter's booth.
“Takahashi for two.”
“Of course Mr. Takahashi; come right this way,” the waiter said. He led them into the most secluded area of the restaurant and seated them into a fairly large booth. “A waiter will be with you momentarily,” he told them.
“So Kagome, please continue with your life story,” Inuyasha urged her.
“Okay. Um well I had Souten when I was fairly young, a junior in high school to be exact...”

“Alright girls, it's time to start a little night of fun. I'm gonna order pizza. Shiori, I know you like ham and cheese but what do you like, Souten?” Kaede asked.
“Um… pepperoni is okay,” Souten answered unsurely.
“Okay. I will be right back. Play nice,” Kaede said as she walked out of the room.
As soon as she could her Kaede in the kitchen, Shiori turned her head towards Souten.
“Just what the hell is your problem?” she angrily asked.
“You, Takahashi, are my problem. Where do you get off telling in what or what not to interfere in? If I don't like your dad with my mom, then I will interfere.”
“And that, Yamoto, is where you are wrong. You are so caught up into being a spoiled-ass-rotten brat, that you will put your happiness over your own mother's.”
“What the hell do you know about my mother's happiness? You don't know her fucking emotions!”
“I don't have to for me to see that she likes my dad. You're full of shit! Naturally, you would think I would be the fucking spoiled brat, since my dad owns fucking Japan. But at least I don't fucking sulk around because my dad found someone he fucking likes and it just so happen to be my worst enemy's mother. No, I happy that my dad has found someone who actually makes him happy! Unlike you, you ungrateful, selfish, idiotic bitch!”
They were now in each other's faces, Shiori's chest heaving up and down after her long-winded speech. They heard Kaede coming down the hall and quickly moved apart, but not without another glare at each other.
Kaede came in the room and could see the girls flaring aura. `Ah, so Souten is a miko also,' she thought to herself. She decided to ignore the anger in the room in hopes of distracting them.
“Alright girls, the pizza should be here in about thirty minutes. How bout we play a game.”
“Sure Kaede. What kind of game?”
“How about…” Just then, the sound of a doorbell interrupted Kaede. “Wonder who that could be? Hold on just one minute girls.” Kaede went and opened the door and saw none other than her sister.
“Kikyou? What is the meaning of this?” Kaede demanded heatedly. Right now, she was not too cozy with her, especially in this house.
“Aw, is the any way to talk to your big sister, Kaede?” Kikyou asked smugly.
“Mommy?” Shiori asked shocked. She ran into the foyer, sensing Kaede distress and anger and saw her mother standing in the doorway.
“Shiori! My look how big you've grown! Come give mommy a hug!” Kikyou yelled.
Shiori walked over to her mother, who was now on her knees in the foyer, and awkwardly gave her a hug. What do you supposed to do if you haven't seen your mom in months?
“Alright Shiori, come back inside with me,” Kaede stated. Shiori started to leave but was soon stopped by Kikyou tightening her hold.
“Not so fast honey. Where your daddy?” Kikyou asked.
“He went on a date with a lady,” Shiori responded, carefully not telling her Kagome's name.
Kikyou's eyes flashed with anger. “He's on a date? With who?”
“No Shiori, don't tell her anything. Just come back inside with me honey.”
Shiori tried to move again but Kikyou's hold tightened painfully. “Oww! Mommy you're hurting me!”
“You're not going anywhere until you tell me who he is with!” Kikyou yelled.
“Let her go!” Kaede yelled.
“No. If you come any closer I will take her with me and you'll never see her again!” Kikyou yelled as her miko powers started to unleash.
Shiori was now crying and her eyes were flashing from red to lavender. Kikyou was slightly purifying her youkai and, in response, her youkai was surfacing.
“Hey you anorexic bitch! Get your slimy hands off of her!”
Kikyou looked up and saw another girl in the foyer with them, glaring furiously at her.
“Who the hell are you?” she yelled.
“That's none of your concern, but if you don't get your hands off of her, you'll have more things to worry about than names.” Souten responded.
“Like what?”
“I just called the police, so unless you want to go to jail for trespassing and disturbing the peace, I suggest you beat it.”
Kikyou looked at the girl and snarled, quite impressively for a human.
“This isn't over,” she told the girl and let go of Shiori, who ran to Kaede.
She then looked at her younger sister, who was trying not to go rip Kikyou's head off. Kikyou looked at her smugly.
“Tell Inuyasha I stopped by,” and with that she walked out the door and drove off.
“Souten, stay here with Shiori while I call Inuyasha,” Kaede told her.
“Yes.”
Shiori then ran over to Souten and hugged her while she cried. Souten, knowing well not to remind her they were enemies, just hugged her back.

Inuyasha and Kagome were enjoying their meal and laughing. Inuyasha got three bowls of Ramen and Kagome got oden and baked fish. They were laughing at a joke until Inuyasha's phone began to ring. Inuyasha looked Kagome and answered his phone.
“Hello…what's wrong…who…she what…damn it! I'm on my way,” Inuyasha snarled as he slammed his cell phone shut.
“What's wrong? Did something happen?” Kagome asked worriedly after witnessing Inuyasha's reaction.
“Yeah, I would explain but we need to get home. Shiori needs me.”
“Well, can you at least explain something?” Kagome asked, becoming more worried at the thought of Shiori, or maybe even Souten, being hurt.
They were now heading out the door and Inuyasha threw a huge tip at the waiter. He said nothing on the way back to the car. He opened the door for her and closed the door behind them. They rode in silence for about five minutes when he suddenly turned to her. His eyes, she noted, seemed in complete anguish but he smiled at her and said only two words.
“My ex-wife.”
