InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Time Heals All Wounds ❯ Bonding...Not Really ( Chapter 9 )

[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]

Sorry for the long update guys. My life has literally gone to hell in the course of one month. But off the subject of my horrible and terrible life, here is the next chapter. And as a warning, my feelings of angst may come out in this chapter. So if you don't like, don't tell me.
Disclaimer: I do not now nor will I ever own Inuyasha or the rest of the clan. They belong to the wonderfully talented Rumiko Takahashi. I only enjoy toying with them.

Shiori sighed as she sat on the bench at the park, silently thinking over the past couple of days. Yeah, she was supposed to be at school right now, but she just was not up to it. Besides she wouldn't have been able to concentrate anyway. No she had way too much on her mind than to be sitting in a classroom with a bunch of selfish brats whining about how hard their homework was. Right now she just wanted to be alone so she could think freely without interruptions or someone asking her if she was okay every five seconds.
Her thoughts soon drifted off to her mom. She was such an evil bitch that she didn't know why her father married her in the first damn place. She was always so cold, callous, heartless. The only time she remembered her mommy dearest showing any affection to her dad is when she wanted some extra money from him. As for showing affection to Shiori herself, that callous bitch never had. In fact, she believed that her mother wanted her dead and gone. As if Shiori was the only thing standing in between her mother and father, which might be true, considering the discovery of Shiori's true heritage led to the breakup of her parents. Of course, that was none of Shiori's fault. She didn't choose to be born a bat hanyou, but her whore of a mother did. She would've been happy being an inu hanyou but that decision was snatched away when her mother decided to be polygamous.
Who was she kidding Friday night? `Come give mommy a hug, my ass!' Shiori thought. She should've known her mother was up to no good. I mean that was proven when she showed up out of the blue. Her mother never came to see her. Hell, her mother didn't love her. When mommy dearest asked where her father was, Shiori let it slip without realizing it. She knew Kikyo was mad when she told her and tried to retreat back to Kaede when she felt the rising of her aura. But Kikyo caught her for she could get away and the rest becomes blurry after that. When she finally did come back to her senses, she was in her room with Miss Kagome holding while she cried.
“Mommy, look at the castle I made!” Shiori over heard. She looked over by the sandbox and saw a little human child playing in it making was she thought was supposed to be a castle.
“Oh honey, it's beautiful. Is it for me?” the mother played along.
“Uh-huh. We're gonna live there one day. But maybe we should wait until it's bigger,” the little girl replied with her eyebrows furrowed.
“Okay honey. Come on lets go get you cleaned up and then we can go out for ice cream,” the mother replied with a warm smile.
“Yeah!” the little girl replied enthusiastically.
Shiori watched the mother and child walk out of the park. If only her mother was like that. If only her mother would take her out to the park and eat ice cream with her. But no, she was just a selfish, no good, egotistical whore. In fact, she can't remember her ever spending any one on one time with that tramp. It was always somebody there with her, mostly some type of police official. I guess no one trusted that woman.
“You know, Takahashi, you should tell people when you're gonna skip school,” she heard
Shiori mentally jumped at the scare but showed no facial appearance of being surprised.
“What do you want, Higurashi?”

“Bye honey. Have a great day!” Souten heard her mother call out as she walked into the school.
“Thanks mom you too!” She yelled back.
Souten was halfway to the main entrance when she saw something sneaking out in the corner of her eye. Sure enough, it was Shiori quietly slipping off the campus. `Is she skipping school?' Souten thought to herself. Her unspoken question was answered when Shiori took off at the speed no human would see. Whatever, it was none of her responsibility or place to tell on her. Whatever that bat brat wanted to do was none of her concern. She started walking back into the school until another thought popped into her head. If Shiori got caught and Inuyasha talked to her mom about it, her mother would instantly question if she knew anything about it. And Souten could not lie to her mother. That woman could tell if anyone was lying, especially her. `Ugh! Damn bat brat always getting into damn trouble. Now I have to go find her to keep myself from getting burned' Souten thought to herself. On that note, Souten looked around for any witnesses and took off at an inhuman speed from the school, trying to trail Shiori.
After following for about ten minutes, Souten started to get frustrated. `Damn she travels fast. I swear she is gonna get it when I catch up to her.' Finally Shiori's scent started to become stronger. A couple of more feet revealed that Shiori went into the park. `I know she didn't skip school to come play hopscotch and swing!' Souten thought angrily. Finally Shiori came into sight. Souten was about to go up to her and give her a piece of her mind until she looked really looked at her. Shiori was sitting on a bench with her knees to her chin, with a forlorn look on her face. Souten quickly became sober and decided to go talk to her. She was soon sitting by Shiori and the girl hadn't notice her presence, so she decided to make it known.
“You know, Takahashi, you should tell people when you're gonna skip school.”
Shiori didn't even look up when she solemnly asked what she wanted.
“Well, I was going on merry way to school when I happen to see a bat brat sneaking out of school. I was going to let you go on, but then I thought about if my mother knew I did that, she would totally punish me into next week. So here I am, ready to haul your ass back to school if I have to.” Souten gave Shiori a glare that would scare anybody into getting up and hauling ass to whatever destination they were told to. Well, everyone except certain a depressed bat hanyou.
“Go away Higurashi, I need to be by myself and your stench isn't doing anything but clogging my poor senses. I'll tell Miss Kagome you didn't know anything about it. Just leave me alone to my own thoughts.” Shiori head reeled to the right and she gave Souten a glare that could kill. “What the hell was that for, bitch?”
Souten shook her hand willing the pain to go away. Shiori had a jaw of steel and it hurt like hell when she hit her, not that she would tell her that. “That, bat brat, was to knock some damn sense into you. You think other people don't have it as bad as you? Trust me, I know the feeling of disliking your parent to the point that you're bordering on hating them. My dad is the King of Kings of the assholes. I barely see him and when I do, we always fight and it usually ends up with him slightly purified on my behalf. Do you see me walking around looking like an extra off of Night of the Living Dead? No, and you shouldn't either. Being down and out about it is just helping them get make your life miserable. Now snap out of it and let's go!” Souten finished her tirade by getting up and beginning to walk out of the park.
Shiori looked at Souten with a blank face that would've made her Uncle Sesshoumaru proud but her eyes told of a different story. She was silently in awe of what had just transpired. Had her sworn enemy until the end of time just given her advice? Out of anybody in the whole entire galaxy, Souten would've have been the last person to give her advice. And she, herself, was actually considering on taking it. After all, Souten was right. What good would it do if she was to just sit around and mope about her situation all day? Nothing would change and things would remain the same. So she might as well suck it up, as her father would say, and keep living.
“I'm waiting Takahashi!” Shiori looked up to see Souten waiting by the park gate. With a roll of her eyes she got up and started walking towards the Thunder Blunder. They looked to make sure no one was around and broke into a dead run back to school.

Kagome gave a sigh as she nursed her bruised hand with the ice pack Bankotsu provided for her. Tonight was her night to be on waitress duty and she can safely say that she would rather be performing. At least the performers had a strict `See and Don't Touch' policy. One of the drunken monkeys at the club decided to grope her while she was serving him and his party drinks. Well, let's just say that he was going to have one killer headache we he woke up. And Kagome was pretty sure that she broke something important in her hand. `Me and my violent behavior' she thought with a sigh.
“Hi there Muhammad Ali! I heard you had another knock out!” Kagome looked Jakotsu a dry look.
“Well maybe I could stay into retirement if drunken fools would keep their filthy hands to their selves.”
“Calm down, honey, I would've done the same thing. Some guys can be a little too outgoing and persistent for their own good. They only thing I would've done different is put him in the hospital, not just knock him out.” He replied.
Kagome giggled at that. “Thanks Jak. You always know how to make me feel better. I didn't know you were performing tonight,” she commented after she looked at his outfit.
“Sure am, honey. I thought I would give the Sailor Scouts genre a go. Tonight I'm the lovely and spicy Sailor Mars,” he said while twirling around so his red sailor skirt would flow up. “Well I guess I better hustle on up there, it's almost time for me to go on. You keep some ice on that hand girly.” Jakotsu walked through the door labeled `Staff Only' and prepared for his performance.
“What's up with the bag of ice, Bam-Bam?” Kagome turned to the voice and a smile instantly lit up her visage.
“Some pervert obviously had it coming for him. What are you doing here? I thought this wasn't your kind of scene?” Kagome asked curiously.
Inuyasha sat on the stool across from Kagome at the bar. “It still isn't. Miroku wanted to come harass your sister for a while so I thought I'd join him. I was hoping I'd see you here.” He replied with a smirk.
Kagome slightly blushed at his flirtatious behavior. “Well unfortunately, I'm not performing tonight. I'm only bartending hence the reason why I'm nursing my hand.”
Inuyasha grabbed Kagome's hand and started to massage it soothingly, trying to soothe away the pain. Kagome stared at him, her face instantly turning red. `I can strip off my clothes in front of multiple people three times a week but I blush when a guy massages my hand? Ugh, I swear I have issues!' she thought. She was so busy arguing with herself that she almost missed his question.
“I'm sorry can you repeat that?”
“I asked if your friend was always so… outgoing,” he asked while looking back. Kagome looked at the stage and laughed as she saw Jakotsu grinding against some poor boy, who probably just turned eighteen and was his first visit, and laughed.
“Yeah, he always had a thing for being spontaneous.”
“He? You mean to tell me that's a guy?” Inuyasha asked incredulously.
“Yep. He's as much as a guy as I am a woman.”
Inuyasha visibly shuddered and decided to change the subject into a more pleasant one. “Kagome, I know our last date was a complete meltdown and I was wondering if you would like to try again. They carnival is will be here this week and I was wondering if you and Souten would like to go with Shiori and I. Then afterwards we could all go out for dinner. Of course, only if you're not busy,” Inuyasha asked slightly nervous.
Kagome smiled and he felt his knees go weak at the sight of it. “Sure we would love to. I was planning on taking Souten anyway. What day would be best for you?”
“Saturday would be just great, if that's okay with you?”
“Saturday is fine. You have yourself a date Takahashi,” Kagome said as she smiled.
Inuyasha paused in his massage and kissed the back of Kagome's hand. He looked so deep into her eyes that it seemed like he was trying to read her soul. “Yes Miss Higurashi, and what a beautiful date it is.”
