I’m safe now

Sirens blared up to the shrine and cops swarmed into the house. 8 cops came out, each with one nude man in handcuffs with the exception of Souta’s and Kagome’s ‘father’ who was fully clothed. But no one came out with a young teenager. Kagome’s mom looked on with worry waiting to see if her baby was ok after she risked everything to save them. Her worry only grew when she never saw Kagome exit the home and saw an officer approaching the little family currently missing a person. “we looked over the house high and low, but there was no girl anywhere in there. But luckily we were able to apprehend these 8, they are wanted all over Japan for murder in the second degree. We are going to do everything in our power to find her.” the officer said to Kagome’s mom, who was crying on her fathers shoulder. Suddenly she realized something, a blood trail! And it lead to the well house! She had gotten away! But at what cost she wondered. “Keep her safe InuYasha, she needs you now” thought Mrs. Higurashi.

Everything was black. Where was she? How did she get here? Who was she? What happened? So many questions in her mind that needed good answers. Slowly she opened her eyes as realization and pain hit her all at once. She was in the feudal era, she jumped down the well, she was Kagome, and she was raped and beaten. The last one made tears come to her eyes. She was impure. Her life was over. She had nothing! Eyes widening at her selfishness she stopped her inner rant and thought of what she was saying. She still had her family, except her father of course, and she had her friends, and she had InuYasha, but would she ever have a chance now? She let them over power her, he would see her as weak! “train!” she thought. “if I train, I’ll be strong! He wont she me as weak if I train and become more than a defenseless miko! I’ll train and teach my ‘father’ not to ever mess with my family again!” with that last thought she painfully got out of the well and pulled herself to the nearest body of water to clean her still-weak body. She slumped into the water and scrubbed at her skin until it was red and almost bleeding trying to get the stench of those men off her body. Tears poured down her face, she still felt so dirty. She stared rubbing the skin raw and it was bleeding. Finally she passed out in the water, completely submerged. The last thing she remembered where gentle female hands pulling her into there arms, out of the water. “I’m safe now” she thought and went into a dreamless slumber.

Sango grabed her friend from the water when she saw someone pass out and go under. She looked sadly at the miko’s raw skin and beaten body and almost cried. “you’re safe now, Kagome.”
