To Hell and Back

Chapter 2:

I has been ten minutes since Sango, Miroku, Shippo and Kirara had begun to follow Inuyasha and Kagome's scent. They soon realized they were losing them fast. Before they know it, the trail had completely disappeared. After a few more minutes of following absolutely no sign of either Inuyasha or Kagome, Sango told Kirara to land and let them off.

"What are we going to do, Miroku? This is bad!" Sango exclaimed worriedly.

Miroku put a reassuring hand on her shoulder and replied, "it's okay, Sango. I'm sure Inuyasha won't harm Kagome. He has recognized her before in this state, right?"

"Yeah! Inuyasha would never hurt Kagome!" Shippo piped up from beside the now small Kirara.

Sango tried not to cry. She really did. They just didn't understand. Shippo was too young, and Miroku didn't study youkai like she did.

"You don't get it. He won't know he's hurting her. His youkai side took over and is set on taking Kagome as a mate. We all know that Kagome loves Inuyasha. If he does this, their relationship will never be the same. And now, we can't even find him!" She rested her head on Miroku's shoulder as her tears overflowed without her permission.

Miroku put his arm around her and took a deep, calming breath in. "Look, Sango. There is nothing we can do now. Kirara can't find his scent, and by now, he is long gone. The only thing we can do is go back to retrieve the Tetsusaiga, and then head to Kaede's. We will wait for them there. We just have to have some faith in our friend."

Sango sniffled a couple of times, wiped the tears from her face, and then reluctantly agreed. He was right. There was no way to find Inuyasha with as fast as he was going.

They climbed on top of the re-transformed Kirara, headed back to the battle scene and grabbed Tetsusaiga, then made their way back towards Kaede's village. All four of them hoping that Kagome will indeed be okay.

Inuyasha's golden irisis meet those of chocolate and he started to walk closer to her. He crouched down in front of her, reached a hand out to her, only for her to flinch away from him. "K-Kagome..."

Kagome looked into his golden gaze and threw herself into his arms. "Inu-yasha. Y-you're back. I'm so glad." She hugged him tight and cried into his bare chest.

Inuyasha wrapped his arms around her and let her cry for as long as she needed. He is completely disgusted with himself. How could he? How could he take her innocence away from her like that? The most pure being he has ever encountered, and he stole that away.

After about five minutes of nonstop crying against him, she pulled away to look into his eyes once again. He looked at her and noticed the puncture wounds around her throat. Tears start to form in his own eyes. He lifted her hands up and analyzed the wounds around her wrists also, then he looked at his claws and saw the stain of blood. Kagome's blood. Her scent is unmistakable.

Inuyasha lightly felt the wounds on her neck and she flinched from the contact. "I'm so sorry," he says as he averted his eyes from hers. "I-I am such a fucking bastard. I-if you wanna go home and never come back... I understand... I-I ain't gonna stop you."

Kagome tentatively reached forward to move his face towards hers so she could look into his ashamed eyes. "I... I don't want to leave."

His eyes widened, "b-but... what I did... It's unforgivable!"

Kagome looked down at her wounded wrists and cringed as the thought of what had happened not too long ago. "I didn't say I forgive you... I just know that I can't stay away from you. I promised you I would stay by your side...," she looked back up into his eyes once more, "...and that's what I plan to do."

Inuyasha grabbed her and embraced her tight. "I'm so so sorry, Kagome."

She snuggled her head into his chest and started to release more unwanted tears. "I know," she murmured.

They sat like that for what felt like hours, but it was really only about thirty minutes. When Kagome pulled away, she blushed, realizing she is only covered up by his Suikan.

"Hey, Inuyasha?"

"Y-yeah?"

"Can you take me back to my time? I want to get dressed and take a bath before we come back and face our friends."

"O-okay." He stood up and held his hand out to help her up. She reluctantly grabbed his hand and stood up by his side. He then put his Hadagi back on and fastened his Obi around his waist.

"Oh, and can we keep this between us? I don't want them to know what happened...," Kagome asked as she averted her gaze.

"Yeah..." He glanced at her neck and saw what looked like a mark. He moved his hand forward to brush her hair out of the way. She flinched slightly, but otherwise stayed still. She looked off to the side and gave him a perfect view of the mark. His mark.

Inuyasha gasped when he saw it. His mark. A mating mark. It's a purple crescent moon on the spot between her neck and shoulder, the same shade as his demon markings that appear in his cheeks when he transforms. He lightly felt the mark with the tip of his thumb and Kagome involuntary shivered at the touch. She gasped and backed up quickly at the unwanted feeling it sent through her body.

'What was that?' she thought to herself.

Inuyasha pulled his hand away quickly and looked down at the ground. "I'm so sorry, Kagome. Y-you... You're bound to me now."

She stepped closer to him and pulled his chin up to look into her eyes. "What do you mean, bound to you?"

He closed his eyes to avoid her gaze, his hands balled up to fists at his sides. How could he do such a thing? If he didn't hate himself before, he does now.

"Please, look at me, Inuyasha."

He reluctantly opened his eyes to look into her own brown ones. "It means..." He let out a puff of air. "...no one else can claim you. You're stuck with me... f-forever.. It could even be detrimental if you go to your own time without me." His eyes were shining with tears he refused to let fall. "I'm so so sorry Kagome. You're stuck with a fucking good for nothing half-breed!"

Kagome immediately saw red. "Don't say that! I don't care if you are a hanyou! I'm not bothered by that at all! It's... the way it happened that bothers me. I love— uh... I love just the way you are." She silently cursed herself for almost telling him she loves him. She can't even believe that. After what happened, shouldn't she hate him? Shouldn't she never want to see him again? Why does she still love him!? Then a thought occured to her. Didn't his youkai side say he loves her? Did he mean it? Or was that just a lie to try and get her to submit to him? Doesn't he still love kikyo?

She decided not to worry about the dead Miko at the moment. There's no point in asking him about her right now. She gave him a wan smile, and before he could respond, she changed the subject, "let's go. I wanna get home and get dressed."

He grabbed her hand and lead her out of the cave entrance before he lifted her bridal style, then jumped through the waterfall and across the large body of water they were hiding behind. When they made it across the water he put her down quickly and stopped to glance at her worriedly. He's nervous, but knows there is no other way to make it to the well before the sun goes down.

"K-Kagome... Uhm... We can't get there fast enough unless... uh..."

Kagome gave him a reassuring smile and says, "it's okay. You can carry me."

Inuyasha sighed in relief and bent down in front of her for her to climb onto his back. She did that, but then whimpered softly at the uncomfortable feeling between her legs. She is really sore and sitting on his back like this is making it worse. Inuyasha's ears went down at the thought of him causing her pain. He held her legs with his hands, making her tense up as tears start to sting behind her eyelids from the sudden contact. His heart jumps at the scent of salt from her tears. He took a deep breath in and then took off in a run as fast as he could go.

°•°•°

An hour and a half later, Inuyasha came up to the clearing by the Bone-Eater's Well and slowed down to a stop in front of it. He noticed about an hour ago that Kagome had fallen asleep, but now he has to wake her up. He is astounded that she still feels comfortable enough with him to fall asleep in his presence, let alone while he is carrying her. He smiled slightly at the girl resting on him and then jumped into the time portal.

When he made it five-hundred years into the future, he swiftly jumped out and into the well house. He climbed up the well house stairs and quietly peaked out the door. He took a sniff to see if anyone was nearby, lucky to find that they were all inside. It seemed they were in the kitchen.

Inuyasha quickly ran and jumped up to Kagome's bedroom window and thanked the Kami that it was unlocked. He let himself in and lightly placed the sleeping Miko on the bed, having her sit up to face him.

"Kagome. Kagome, wake up." He lightly shook her shoulder and watched as her eyes opened slowly.

When Kagome's eyes opened, the first thing she saw was Inuyasha directly in front of her. On instinct, she yelped and jumped backwards, landing with her back against the wall while still sitting up on her bed. She closed her eyes tightly and started to cry immediately.

Inuyasha couldn't help the tears that sprung in his own eyes. Kagome is scared of him. Why wouldn't she be? He did the worst thing a guy could do to a woman. "K-Kagome. Please don't be scared of me. I'm sorry. I-I can just go." He got up from his crouched position in front of her bed and started to leave out of the window. He knew he couldn't transcend time without her, so he was going to resort to sitting up in the Goshinboku until she was ready to go.

"Wait!" Kagome yelled before he got too far out. "D-don't go... Stay... Stay with me." She wiped her tears off of her face with the back of her hand and slowly crept closer to him. Sitting on the edge of her bed now, she looked up at him as he walked back towards her.

"A-are you sure?"

"Y-yeah. Don't go."

"As long as you want me. I'll be here."

She smiled up at him and grabbed his clawed hand in her human one. "Thank you, Inuyasha." They stared at each other for a few moments before Kagome stood and grabbed some clothes from the closet. She was about to grab her back-up uniform but immediately upon touching it, flashbacks of what had happened poured through her head. She removed her hand right away and with a deep breath in, she shakily decided instead, to grab some comfortable pajamas.

Inuyasha sat on her bed and studied her every movement. It didn't go unnoticed when she wasn't able to grab a school uniform to wear. He hated himself for this. He watched as she instead grabbed some other clothes from the closet and saw as she headed for the bedroom door.

She turned to him and forced a smile, a smile that couldn't reach her normally bright eyes. "I'm going to take a bath. I'll be back soon."

He nodded his head in understanding as she turned to leave him in her room alone. She quickly came back covered in a towel and nothing else. He turned to her, wondering what she was doing, but she threw his Suikan to him and didn't say anything as she left once again. He quickly put it back on his body and situated his Obi to where it should be, and then waited for her to return.

Inuyasha took a deep breath in of her intoxicating scent. 'What did I do!?'

He looked to his hip and realized something really important. His father's fang wasn't with him. The one thing that is sure to keep his inner youkai at bay. He started to hyperventilate thinking of his untamed beast escaping again. He couldn't let that happen. He put his hand over his heart and closed his eyes. He tried to calm his racing heart beat, but each breath he took, reminded him more and more of his mate. He opened his eyes and felt the change in his body. His eyes started flashing from gold to crimson and back again.

'No! I-I can't!'

Suddenly, the door to Kagome's bedroom swung open, and there stood Kagome's little brother, Souta. "Inuyasha! You're here! Come downstairs, we're about to eat dinner."

Inuyasha is extremely grateful to the little brat. The distraction stopped his overwhelming senses, and he jumped up at the chance to get out of this intoxicating room before his youkai could emerge again. Souta just smiled and assumed his hero was hungry.

°•°•°

Kagome was in the middle of conditioning her hair when everything started coming back to her. How did this end up happening? Could she have prevented it? Could she have done something differently to change Inuyasha back? Should she have used her powers? No. She didn't want to risk turning him human permanently or worse, killing him. What happened, happened, and they both were going to have to live through the consequences.

After rinsing her hair out the rest of the way, she grabbed some soap and started between her legs. She felt something wet and sticky down there, and when she looked at her hand, her heart jumped. How could she have forgotten? He finished inside of her. More tears threatened to escape. She wanted this for so long. She wanted to be with him in both body and soul. But not this way. She's only fifteen! She wanted to wait until after highschool to possibly have a child. She took a deep breath in to calm her raging nerves. There is no guarantee that she is pregnant. For all she knows, she wasn't 'pupped' as she has heard him call it before.

She shook her head. No. She's not pregnant. She knows she's not.

She pushed the thoughts of pregnancy out of her mind as she finished scrubbing herself, still feeling immensely dirty. How could her body betray her mind? Why did she orgasm while being raped? She already knew the answer. Just because you don't want it, doesn't mean your body won't react. She learned that from television, but still, she couldn't help but feel disgusted with herself.

She turned the shower off and filled the tub. She needs to rest in a bath for a little while before getting out completely. She can't face her family while her face was red and puffy from all of the crying.

Not to mention, she could use a break between herself and Inuyasha as well...

°•°•°

Downstairs, Kagome's mother greeted Inuyasha like she normally would. "How are you dear? Would you like to stay for dinner? Where's Kagome?"

"Uh... She's takin' a bath. And I'm not too hungry. Thanks..."

Immediately, Mrs. Higurashi, Gramps and Souta stopped what they were doing to look at the saddened Hanyou. He tried to hide it, but they knew right away that something was very wrong.

"Are you feeling alright, dear? You've never turned down food before."

"Uh... yeah. Fine... S-sorry."

"Is Kagome alright? Did something happen?"

"Eh... A youkai attacked, but she's okay now. I brought her back to rest up before we go back to my time."

The three bewildered humans gave him a curious look, but decided not to pry. If they wanted to tell them what was wrong, they would. Mrs. Higurashi continued making dinner as the three boys sat at the table.

Fifteen minutes later, Kagome came downstairs in a light blue button down silk pajama top and matching silk pajama bottoms. Inuyasha's breath caught in his throat at the sight of her. He immediately looked away to keep his youkai in check. He needed to be extra careful now that he doesn't have his father's fang with him at the moment.

°•°•°

While upstairs, Kagome had checked herself out in the mirror. She noticed the slight puncture wounds around her neck and wrists. Then she pulled her hair back and gasped at the purple crescent moon at the crease of her left shoulder. She lightly touched it and immediately felt a spark of pleasure as she did so.

'What am I gonna tell mama?'

She shook her head with a sigh, and decided to cover it up with her hair and not say anything for the time being. She got dressed in her new pajamas and went into her room. The first thing she noticed was that Inuyasha wasn't there. She looked out her window and saw he wasn't outside either. She started to panic, but then remembered that he said they couldn't be separated by time. So she figured he was just downstairs.

She took in a deep breath to calm her nerves and went downstairs to greet her family. When she walked into the kitchen, she locked eyes with Inuyasha and felt a little uneasy with the look she was receiving. Then as quick as it came, it was gone. He turned his head away from her. She let out a sigh of relief before warily sitting down next to him.

"Hi mama. What are you making for dinner? It smells good!" She put on a brave face as if everything is alright as she looked around at the confused faces of her family.

Her mother smiled at her and responded with, "I made Yakizakana with Tsukemono. I asked Inuyasha if he would like some dinner, but he says he's not hungry. It gave me a weird feeling. Is everything alright with you two, Kagome?"

Kagome gulped and glanced towards the hanyou before looking back at her mother and responding, "uh... yeah. We just fought off a youkai before coming back here. Everything's fine." Inuyasha sighed in relief that she matched his story perfectly.

"Well, okay then. Are you sure you don't want anything, Inuyasha?" Mrs. Higurashi asked kindly.

He glanced over to Kagome, who with her eyes, told him to agree. So he nodded his head and replied, "O-okay. I'll eat with you."

°•°•°

After a quiet dinner, Souta asked Inuyasha if he would like to play some video games up in his room. Inuyasha looked to Kagome for some help, but she just told him to go. She said she could really use a nap before heading back, so he agreed and went with Souta to the kids bedroom.

°•°•°

Kagome laid down on her bed and pulled the covers up to her neck. She sighed to herself and closed her eyes. Within no time at all, her mind drifted off to sleep.

Kagome was running as fast as she could. She was being chased by a spider youkai, and there's no one around to help. She ended up pinned to the ground by the eight legged creature and looked up to see neon green venom dripping from its fangs. The only thing she could think to do is call for the one man who was always there for her. Who would always protect her. Who would never hurt her.

"Inuyashaaaa!" she called out as her eyes glued themselves shut.

She quickly felt the weight of the large spider vanish from on top of her body. She opened her eyes to see two glowing red orbs with light blue irises staring down at her.

"Inu-Inuyasha. Wh-what are you doing?"

He took his claws and swiped her clothes away, fast. "I'm taking what's mine. Submit to me, mate. Submit now."

She cowered in fear. How could this be happening? "Inuyasha! Stop!" She covered her breasts to try and block his view, but he slapped her for her resistance, leaving bloody marks across her cheek.

"Bitch. I said, SUBMIT!" He was suddenly naked above her, pinning her arms to the ground above her head.

"No! Stop! I love you! Please don't do this to me!" She started to glow a bright pink, causing his hands to release their hold on her.

"BITCH! You will regret that!" He started to choke her - hard.

Kagome felt the tears stinging her eyes and she could only think to do one thing. "I'm... sorry," she said between choked gasps. She lifted her hands up and pushed a big burst of reiki into his chest. He flew back a good twenty feet and landed face down in the dirt.

She ran up to him and gasped. His hair is black and his nails don't have claws. He's just a normal human. She then reluctantly flipped him over. "Inu...yasha?" When there was no response, she moved his hair out of the way and felt for a pulse. "NO!" she screemed in terror. He's dead. She killed him with her own two hands. "NO! INUYASHA!!!!"

"Inuyasha. No... Inuyasha!"

"Kagome. Wake up! I'm here. Please, wake up!" He shook her shoulders and watched as her eyes shot open. She took in his golden gaze and flung herself into his arms.

"Inuyasha! I'm s-sorry."

He held her tight and was more confused than ever. "Sorry? F-for what?" He pulled back to look into her eyes, but before she could relay anything to him, she looked to her door and saw her family there with concern obvious in their gazes.

She looked back at Inuyasha and spoke monotonously, "um... It was just a dream. It doesn't matter. I'm ready to go back now."

Kagome's mother spoke up, "are you sure, Kagome? It seems that whatever youkai attacked you, really rattled you up. You can stay here for a few days or maybe a week."

Kagome shook her head in the negative and stood up from her bed. "N-no. I want to go now." She realized she left her bag in the Sengoku Jidai so instead, she grabbed some ninja food, ramen, and extra clothes and packed them in a replacement bag. Not as large as her yellow one, but it will do.

Her family watched with concern in their eyes, but didn't protest. They watched as Kagome and Inuyasha left the house, and then the couple jumped into the well to go back to the past.
