Fallen Friends

While the battle took place. Shippou was whimpering in pain as he tried to pull himself over to hs fallen comerades, "Sa-n-go,"he whispered as he reached her broken body which seconds ago had been smooshed (AN: I cant think of another word right now!) by the grief stricken priest.

"Kohaku," she smilled faintly as she reached for the young kitsune.

"No, Sango, Shippou, I'm Shippou." The kitsune whinned.

"Ship-pou,"Came another voice from behind them.

Inuyasha was inching toward his friends who had been with him through the quest for the jewel shards. However, his body had no more energy in him whatsoever so he reached out with his calloused hands to grab Sango's.

"Arigato, ughh," Sango paused in a laps of pain then whispered, "Ashiteru Inu-yasha." The young kitsune lay there in utter surprise beging Kami that Inuyasha didn't say something stupid.

He was in for a bigger surprise when Inuyasha tightened his grip on Sango's hand and whispered back, "Ashiteru Sango-chan."

And with that, the new lovers died with their hands bound to each other. Both having whistful smiles across there scratched and bruised faces.

"Kagome," Miroku called as he ran over to catch her falling body. She had used up so much energy, purifying the jewel and killing there enemies.

"Ar-arigato Miroku-sama." She said weakly. Slowly she lifted herself out of his arms and looked across the place where they had fought Naraku and Kikyo. "Oh no," she whimpered as she ran over to her friends who lay on the cold and barren earth.
