She sat at the top of the hill looking out at the moon. Ever since she was a young child she adored the moon. She remembered her mother telling her mythical stories about a princess who lived on the moon. So to her the moon was magical. It always gave her hope when she was scared and she couldn't remember ever needing more hope or confidence than she did tongiht.
'Okay, all I have to do is march straight up to him and tell him how I feel!'
The young woman stood up radiating confidence until she heard him.
"Rin."
"Yes, Lord Sesshomaru? Did you need something?"
'Okay, remember you just have to tell him straight out how you feel. If he rejects me than that's that. It won't be the end of the world. True it might end my life, but...Ahhh! What am I thinking! He won't kill me. He's the one who said I always have to be honest!'
Sesshomaru couldn't help but smirk. She was obviously thinking about something and she was showing all of her best faces. He could smell each emotion that went through her slender form. First confidence, but that quickly gave way to sadness then that gave way to fear then shock and finally confidence once again.
'She is truly amusing.'
Actually Rin had grown into a breathtaking woman. From an amusing girl to an amusing woman. As a woman she still held her innocence, yet she still acted like she was nine. But was truly amazing about her was the fact that she still acted like she was nine and she was sexy at the same time.
"Rin." His voice broke off her train of thought or more correctly her train a worry.
"Yes My Lord?"
"Is there something you want to ask me?"
"No. Although, the-there is some-some-thing I want t-to tell y-you."
'Oh great, I finally get build up my confidence and then stutter. Yeah, I'm totally confident!'
"What is it you want to tell me?"
"Umm...I forgot. No, no, I mean I-I-I...."
Sesshomaru walked forward and gently grasped her chin in between his clawed thumb and index finger.
"What is it you wish to tell me?" He said.
Rin couldn't help but notice the way his voice sounded. It was somewhat silky, yet husky and deep at the same time. She relished the way his fingers felt on her chin. She couldn't help but to wonder two things.
'I wonder how many people he's killed with his claws.' And of course she also wondered, 'What will my name sound like if he said it when...'
Rin gave a quiet gasp at her own thoughts. Thankfully her lord wasn't a mind-reader. Or at least as far as she knew.
"My Lord, I-I-I. I've been traveling with you for eight years now and..." Rin slowly trailed off. She lost her steam, but she couldn't turn back now.
Sesshomaru looked at the blush on her cheeks and heard the rapid beating of her heart and he suddenly realized what she was trying to tell him. How was he to approach this? What was he suppose to do?
"Rin, I-"
"My Lord, please forgive me! I'm sorry, but I think...I think...I think I've fallen in love with you!"
