Kagome exited her room with a mixture of excitement and fear. Sango smiled brightly at her before growing concerned, “what’s wrong? Did that idiot upset you again?” The girl shook her head and looked up at Sango, “what will Mistress do now that she cannot torture him? How will she react to the fact that he only responds to me? Sango, I’m scared.” She took her sister’s hand and felt the prick of tears building in her eyes.
Funny, Sango thought as she tried to give her sister a happy smile, I was just talking about these things with Monk Miroku a few minutes ago. She tried to recall exactly how the monk had put her mind at ease. “Kagome, I’m glad you haven’t lost your head over this hanyou. I want you to remember what I said earlier.” Kagome nodded. “At the same time, don’t shut yourself down to him either. As for what she will do to you or him I’m not sure. I think she will probably use you to try and torture him.” Kagome’s face grew grim and Sango offered her a wink, “to be fair I don’t think either of you would really mind that. I’m sure if he’s too close to changing you can ‘help’” she air quoted the word, “him with that.” Kagome blushed brightly but gave her a small smile. “Sango, you know if his body heat rises to much the sensors can tell and I think he’d rather not find out what happens if that happens, I’d rather not see it personally.” Sango laughed and offered her sister a wink, “Monk Miroku wants to talk to all of us tonight okay?” She added as an after-thought. Kagome nodded and set about with her daily duties.
