(disclaimer: WELL! After that year long wait I’m sure anyone and everyone is ready for me to continue! So here I am with another chapter in T.T.A.D. For legal purposes I own nothing but my plot.
On a random note: thanks to the people who left reviews! Half the reason I stopped writing was I couldn’t find a way to connect some of the chapters and because I thought this story really wasn’t very good [in the eyes of the readers because I loved it!] But the reviewers have given me a new perspective on the story and I’m ready to go on!)

Kagome woke in a panic, unable to remember falling asleep. She sat up in her bed and looked around. It was her ordinary prison/room but she could not remember how she got there! Panic rolled through her until Sango poked her head in, “morning sleepy head! I brought you upstairs last night so stop panicking you are upsetting the guest!” Kagome’s eyes grew wide as she heard Inuyasha growling. “He’s been asking to see you since breakfast. Please go talk to him before he comes up here.” Kagome jumped out of bed and ran down the stairs.

The growling hanyou smiled widely at her. "Morning." He said brightly. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and smiled back. “Morning.” She said around a yawn. “Did you sleep well?” He asked. She nodded and walked over to him. “Did you?” He grinned and pulled her into his arms. “Truth?” Her sleepy gaze sharpened on him. “Nothing but.”
“Not really. I was worrying about you.” She blinked several times and opened her mouth to ask him why but he answered her before the word could leave her mouth. “You were so upset last night because I’m an idiot. I was just worried.” He blushed slightly and she giggled. He glared playfully at her, “what’s funny?” He growled. She nuzzled into his neck and he smiled as he tightened his arms around her. “Nothing.” She whispered. He tightened his hold on her and sighed happily. Maybe I didn’t fuck up as badly as I thought.

She looked up at him, the joking leaving her almost as quickly as it had come on. “Inuyasha, I am sorry about all this. If there was anything I could do to free you and save my friends and family I would.” He nodded and offered her a grin. “Don’t worry, I’ll figure a way out. I’ve been in worse jams than this and gotten free…” His brow furrowed in confusion, “not any that I can think of at the moment but I know there have been a few.”

Kagome giggled again and offered him a smile, “well they say that memory goes in old age.” He growled and tried to feign offence but only managed to make her giggle again. He sighed heavily before asking, “Kagome, how can you be so happy and carefree when all of this has happened to you? You laugh despite everything.” The girl pulled from his neck and looked at him thoughtfully, “well to be honest, Momma always told me ‘kill your enemy with kindness’ so I try to smile and laugh. Plus I’ve also heard laughter is the best medicine.” She shrugged and snuggled into his chest, clutching the shirt tightly in her hand. “And, it helps ease the pain; helps make Sango and Monk Miroku’s lives a little easier.” His chest rumbled in a purr and felt his heart melt a little further for this girl.

“I had better get upstairs; Mistress is already anger with me.” She leaned up and gave him a gentle kiss, “I’ll bring you lunch if I can.” He whined gently at the loss of her warmth as he let her finger tips trail down his as she walked away. “Be back soon, I need you.” The words left him leaving him feeling vulnerable yet he knew Kagome would never scorn him for such tenderness; just as he thought she graced him with a fully genuine smile and blew him a kiss. “I’ll be back.” He nodded before settling against the wall to wait for her return, the only positive thing to the mess he’d found himself in.
