InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ To Tame a Demon ❯ Chapter 28

(disclaimer: Well I own nothing but my plot. Anyway, this is my last chapter for the night! Hope you enjoy it! I know I skipped a few days but it seemed like a waste of chapters to write about days where just Inuyasha and Kagome were together. It doesn’t add to the plot much! Haha! Enjoy!)
Kikyo didn’t come to next day, or the day after, in fact it was almost a week now and no one had seen any sign of the woman. Inuyasha couldn’t say he wasn’t happy, however he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong, something was going to happen, which WAS STUPID, after all he got Kagome almost all day every day and he loved every bit of it.
In fact Kagome was laying in his lap now, grinning up at him. He smiled back down as he ran his claws through her hair. I could do this forever, even chained to a wall. He leaned down to drop a kiss on her waiting lips when Kikyo’s voice came over the intercom. “Kagome!” The girl stood with a sigh, “it was only a matter of time before something happened.” She said even though her face showed the same confusion he felt; she kissed him softly before going up the stairs.
These last few days had been a dream. Inuyasha and she had been growing closer. She rounded the corner still smiling and ran into Kikyo. The girl pushed Kagome against the wall. “You think you can take my man bitch?” The girl growled, pulling a knife from her pocket and placing the tip to Kagome’s throat. The tip dug in drawing a drop of blood and a whimper from Kagome. Crap! If she hurts me too badly or if Inuyasha smells our scents and mine with blood he will change! She screamed in her mind.
Inuyasha stared at the ceiling with a smile on his face. Kagome’s scent covered the cloths he had on and the scent of the dungeon. Is this what it feels like to be in love? He thought with a sigh as he leaned back against the wall. Even if this was a nightmare to start off with, finding Kagome has made it worth it. His mind played images of their first encounter. Should have been nicer. She’ll never let me live that down. He thought smiling even wider as he thought happily about his future for the first time in a long time.
The scent of Kagome’s blood wafted down the stairwell, raising the hairs on Inuyasha’s neck. “Kagome!?” He yelled coming to his feet instantly. The girl stumbled into his view seconds later, holding a gushing wound on her neck. His demon blood sang in his veins. “Kagome, who hurt you? Was it Naraku?” She shook her head, paling further as she collapsed into his arms. “Who Kagome, who?” He growled; his vision hazing over with red. “Kikyo.” She whispered as Inuyasha pried her hands off to see the smooth cut of a knife. “Artery.” He whispered; panic flooding his mind as he probed the wound.
The demonic red haze fell over his vision as he felt Kagome growing cold in his arms. “Sango! Miroku!” He roared. The two ran down the stairs seconds later. Relieve coursed through Inuyasha as he found the artery intact. “Stitches.” He growled feeling his demon blood cool slightly, at least she wouldn’t bleed out.
Sango ran up the stairs and back in mere seconds. Inuyasha held his hands out for the needle and thread. Sango collapsed by Kagome’s side. “I can do it, just hold her.” The hanyou nodded, his hands shaking to badly to even try and stitch her wound.
Kagome’s eyes fluttered open and she looked at him in horror seeing his eyes flashing to red with every beat of his heart, panic clouded the pain in her scent, “Inuyasha, don’t change. I need you as my hanyou.” She whispered so quietly he wasn’t sure he had heard her. “I’m okay. I’ll be okay. Just rest.” She nodded and slipped back into unconsciousness.
Sango began to sew the wound together glancing at Inuyasha. Every time Kagome winced his eyes flashed red and purple lightning bolts ran down his face. “Inuyasha, you can’t become full demon.” She said quietly around a sniffle as she finished stitching Kagome. He looked up at her, “what?” She turned to Miroku and instructed him to get a bucket of water before answering the hanyou, tears running down her cheeks at seeing her sister hurt so badly. “If you become fully demon Naraku will absorb you. You have to stay hanyou.” Inuyasha nodded and looked down at Kagome sleeping soundly in his lap. “I’m trying Sango. For her sake, I’m trying.” He leaned down and kissed Kagome softly. “You care for her a lot, don’t you?” Sango smiled as Miroku returned with the water. “I think so, it’s a strange feeling.” He whispered tilting his head as he gazed at Kagome. “Love is a strange thing my friend.” Miroku smiled at the hanyou as Sango cleaned the wound. He made a soft sound and touched Sango’s hand causing her to look up at him. His eyes were locked on Kagome’s face yet he moved the girls hand before nuzzling his face gently against her neck, drawing his tongue across the rough stiches. The redness of the injury began to lessen almost immediately and he nodded with a soft grunt.
Sango stood with a sigh, “she should be okay.” He mimicked her sigh and nodded, “thank you Sango.” The girl nodded and walked back up the stairs, adding over her shoulder, “I’ll come get her in a little bit.”
Inuyasha pulled Kagome closer and buried his face into her neck and tried to keep his demonic blood in check. She wants you to stay hanyou, stay that way, don’t change. If you change you won’t be able to defend her and Naraku will kill her… Rage filled him at the thought of her being hurt or killed so he changed his thought process; she needs you as a hanyou, she wants you to stay hanyou, maybe she will want to be with you permanently. He grinned against her soft skin at the thought. I’ll ask her as soon as she wakes up. I will free her and take her as mine. His demonic blood ran hot at the thought and his body began to stir at the thought of taking her. He inhaled deeply and the scent of her pain and blood stopped the urge almost instantly. When she’s better, then I will think about taking her, for now… He whimpered and held her as close as he could, licking the wound every few seconds.
Sango came some time later and Inuyasha lifted the girl gently, handing her over with a soft smile. “Her neck should heal well.”
“Thanks to you.” Sango said with a grateful smile. He shrugged, “your stitches helped stop the blood flow my saliva will just speed up her healing process.” Sango smiled regardless and bowed slightly to him, careful of Kagome in her arms. “Thank you Inuyasha.” He blushed and shrugged again. “It was nothing. Just do me a favor,”
Sango tilted her head, “anything Inuyasha.” He waved his hand to the girl, “either bring her to me tomorrow or at least let me know how she is doing.” Sango laughed quietly, “as if I’d keep you waiting on news of her. I plan on making her stay in bed tomorrow but I will bring news for you.” The hanyou bowed and thanked Sango before to woman carried the girl upstairs.
Inuyasha laid against the wall and looked up at the ceiling staring where he thought Kikyo was staying, “if you come to me I’ll take your head. You tried to kill Kagome, I will kill you.” He growled before falling into sleep.
