“Been awfully quiet up here, haven't you wench?” InuYasha said haughtily as he stepped into his room. When, after a quick scan of the room, he noted that she wasn't there, a familiar smell assaulted his nose. The wolfish tint to the stench left behind “The Great Koga” was always unmistakable. What he couldn't figure out, though, was why Koga would possibly track him now, when his grudge had formed so many years ago. Now he decides to act on it? he asked himself angrily.
And where had Kagome gone too? Her sent was still all over the room, though mixed with his own faded one and Koga's recent. InuYasha had already been through the rest of the house in an effort to avoid… his wife.
Absently, InuYasha strode over to the slightly open wardrobe door and closed it, still staring around the room as if Kagome was about to jump out at him any moment. As he stepped away from the wardrobe, a strong sent smashed into his nose, sending a sudden fatigue over his mind. Quickly shaking it off, he realized what that smell had been.
Without a second thought, he grabbed Tetsiaga and bolted out the door and down the street toward the docks.
---
Opening her eyes, Kagome shrieked when the scene around her filtered into her mind. Koga had his head resting on her bare torso, snoring loudly, while his hand rested on her equally bare thigh, just inches from the most private place on her body. With another strangled cry, she realized that she was stark naked, not a stitch of clothing to protect her modesty. It didn't take her long to realize she was in the captain's room on a ship. The ocean water splashed up against the large windows at the opposite side of the room. Moonlight poured eerily into the room, melting into the light of the few candles scattered around the room.
Kagome quickly tried to lift Koga's head off her stomach, or maybe to just cover herself up, but when she tried to move her arms, they wouldn't. She looked but only to find ropes around her wrists and ankles, leading to the poles on the four-post bed. Panic quickly rose in her throat, threatening to spill over into heart wrenching sobs.
No! she thought to herself. Keep your mind clear and think of a way out of this! But when she continued to look around, she realized, with another threat of tears, that she was on a ship, sailing away from her home in the middle of the ocean. What chance did she have but to give up?
Before she could continue her depressing thoughts, Koga suddenly grunted and lifted his head. She was horrified to find his eyes raking over her body, the thumb of the hand resting on her thigh caressed her skin.
“Good morning,” he said when his eyes finally met hers. “I trust you slept well.” His voice dropped, making him sound very seductive. “I know I did.”
Kagome could only blink at him in shock. What did this man want with her? On second thought, she knew what he wanted with her at that moment. A furious blush rose up her neck and cheeks as she began to writhe in the bed, moving as much as she could to get this ridiculous man out of her personal space.
“Get off me!” she wailed, trying to knee him in the nose.
“Sh,” he said quietly, as if trying to calm an upset toddler. “Stay still.”
To her furious embarrassment, he rose from the chair he must have been sitting on and put a knee beside her hip, crawling over her so he straddled her waist, holding her arms with his hands. Kagome stopped wiggling the instant he brought his face close to hers.
“Can I get you anything?” Koga whispered.
She started to shiver, though she suspected it wasn't from the temperature of the room.
“Clothes!” she shouted indignantly.
With another shock of horror, Kagome felt Koga's hand gently run along the length of her arm as he nuzzled her neck. What in the world was he doing? Why was he trying to seduce her? She didn't even know this man. Her wedding had only been the day before, and now she found herself having these forbidden feelings with a strange man she had met but hours before. Or had more time than that passed?
“I don't know,” she heard him murmur. “I think I prefer this…” his last word turned into a moan as Kagome tried again to writhe out from under him. When he continued his attentions, she gave in and screamed. Her shriek must've been heard from miles around, considering Koga's reaction to it. “What the hell?” he shouted when she finally ceased her scream.
Smiling, he bent down to her ear once again and whispered, “A game then?” Then, before she could take another breath to scream, Koga's teeth pierced the skin at her shoulder, and indulged.
---
Could she have survived this long? InuYasha thought angrily as his arms worked furiously, controlling the speed his small boat was moving. Despite the large sail hovering above his head, he much preferred to do something with his hands, not liking the feeling of idleness as he waited for the wind to carry him in the direction it felt.
Glancing up, he saw that the canvas was full, making his speed increase with the movements of his oars. Each time the wind changed, a different smell blew up his nose, making it difficult to track Kagome and Koga's scent.
For the next hour or so, as it turned dark, InuYasha found himself humming a melody to keep his mind occupied, but just as he started to open his mouth for a grand finally in The Peacock, a horrifying smell and sound rammed into his senses. As his mind suddenly stilled, he saw a ship on the horizon. Thanks to his canine eyesight, the nighttime light did nothing to curb his vision. An excited jolt shot through his stomach and arms, forcing him to row harder and faster, despite the angle of the wind.
Pull… lift…, he thought hastily as his breathing took a rhythm to his rowing skills. What had happened to her? Kagome's scream had set his nerves on end. But when he smelled both hers and Koga's arousal, there was no doubt in his mind what that wolf was trying to do to her.
---
Kagome prayed with all her might, asking God to make her faint, go unconscious, die, anything! She nearly thought her prayer would be answered had Koga kept biting her. Instead, he pulled away, her blood still glinting off his fangs as he smiled wickedly down at her. The room suddenly spun in a painful whirl of blackness as she felt her head fall back on the pillow.
Koga raised himself from her body, smirking like a wild man.
It's nearly complete, he thought smugly. Now only to… this last thought trailed off as he glanced back at the beautiful body laying on his bed, waiting. Without a second to change his mind, he turned sharply to his wardrobe, pulling out a small brown bottle, topped with a cork, sealing its contents from innocent noses.
Setting down the bottle, he peeled off his caramel, sweat-stained shirt and pulled the ties on his pants loose. With a soft chortle, he snatched the small bottle of smelling salts from the table and walked over to Kagome, taking his time to rake her body with his eyes.
The world came whirling back into focus, pitched Kagome from a serene slumber to a nasty smelling Koga. She nearly rolled her eyes with exasperation before the danger of her situation hit her with the intensity of the waves that were crashing against the ship at that very moment. She glanced around, franticly searching for a way out of her predicament. When her eyes landed on the large set of windows at the other side of the room, she nearly shrieked with fright when she saw a pair of golden eyes glowing slightly in the dark. She looked back at Koga's arrogant face and smiled sweetly at him.
“What are you planning to do to me?” she asked quietly.
His face brightened. “Maybe you'll just have to find out,” he answered huskily.
Before he covered her mouth with his once again, she glanced at the window. InuYasha's eyes were gone.
