InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Together Forever ❯ Chapter 3

Every stroke he took, taxing on his biceps and nerves, the ship in the distance came closer… closer… Before he knew it, he had his boat tied to a loose board at the back, beneath what looked to be the captain's quarters. InuYasha pulled himself from the boat, climbing up the mast and leaped. His impeccable aim landed him right below the large windows. He dug his claws into the wood, anchoring him there as he tried to ponder a way to get both he and Kagome off the ship and back to land safely.
Koga's scent was nearly stifled behind the overwhelming stench of smelling salts. What the hell does he need that for? InuYasha couldn't understand what on Earth could posses him to use smelling salts. And on whom? A thought seemed to smack InuYasha in the face as he carefully inched closer to the windows, enough to peek in.
Oh… he trailed off as he saw Kagome's head jerk off the pillow and her eyes search the room. When they landed on him, he could only stare. With a pang of guilt and a twinge of embarrassment, their eyes only stayed locked, his too shocked to look her body in the full, while hers were too frightened to move away from his. But when hers finally lifted, they faced into Koga's eyes.
InuYasha heard her speak, just barely over the crashing waves against the side of the ship.
“What are you going to do to me?”
Then he heard, along with the heavy scent of his arousal, Koga speak, “Maybe you'll just have to find out.”
He ducked back below the edge of the window sill, blocking out the sight of his foe in an unmistakably possessive position over his very naked wife. Wife, he thought. A quick jolt of adrenaline shocked his body into movement, forcing his muscles to dig his nails into the wood higher and higher around the window until he was level with the poop deck. He watched carefully as the few crew members left aboard roamed aimlessly, ignoring the ship's needs.
Perhaps he could just climb stealthily aboard and act as though he'd been there the whole time. No, that wouldn't work. As he watched, he saw two men walk by, both being unmistakably Koga's right-hand men. They too had been along side him when he and Koga had had that mishap so many years ago. Not only that, but within the hour he would probably smell InuYasha, even over his own arousal. And, he thought with disgust and a quickening heartbeat. Kagome's too.
There was always the possibility of commandeering the ship. But that option quickly blew itself out. With even the tiniest ruckus caused on the stern castle, everything would be heard through the skylight in the middle of the upper-deck. Not to mention his lack of support.
Another minute passed as InuYasha tried desperately to find a solution for both his and Kagome's situation. The only partially-sane option left was to simply bloody up Koga and take Kagome away. It seemed simple enough, despite all the possible negatives that might come out of any wrong turn. What he had to do now, was to find a way to break into the cabin without drawing too much attention to himself or his wife.

Another strange surge of heat radiated from her bite mark spreading over the rest of her body making her question, again, the strange bite Koga had given her. With him brandishing his tongue about her mouth, she could barely think. Where was InuYasha? Had she imagined the pair of gold eyes hovering outside the captain's windows? If not, how long could it possibly take to walk into a room and save a spouse of yours?
Her mind gave a soft ironic laugh. Spouse!
