InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Together ❯ Chapter 5
Sango and the others show up to see Inu Yasha laying in the dirt…with his eyes closed. They jumped off Kirara and looked around. Shippo went right for Inu Yasha.
"Did you see kagome? Is she ok?" he asked.
Inu Yasha opened his eyes but said nothing. "Surly the spell can't still be on you Inu Yasha." Sango said. "What's that matter? Are you laying there because you want to?"
"mmmmmm" Miroku looked at Sango.. "Sango, leave him alone awhile"
"Why" Shippo asked.
"Because, kagome thinks that he was helping Kikyo…and he is probably depressed from her reaction when she woke up." They all look at the hole…
"Yeah, your probably right" Sango said. "im going to go look for kagome…she's probably scared and all alone…."
"Leave her!" inu Yasha interrupts.
"Inu Yasha!" Sango gasped.
"Where's kagome?" asked Shippo.
He raised himself from the ground and started to slowly walk into the forest; toward Kiade's…it was a few day walk. "She's with Kouga. She chose to go with him. She's home now?" he kept walking.
"Chose? Why would she do that Sango?" Shippo looked up at a confused Sango.
"I would imagine kagome is terribly hurt, and went with Kouga to get away from Inu Yasha."
Shippo looked at Miroku. "If we go find her do you think she would come with us, sense there is no Inu Yasha."
"I could not guarantee it, but I am almost certain she will"
"Ok then, what are we waiting for?" asked Shippo "come on!" he starts to run toward the den.
They finally reach it to see wolves everywhere. The wolves begin to surround them. Growling and snarling…Shippo jumps up into Sango's arms. "Prepare yourself Miroku!" Sango cries…
"Wait!" Miroku calls to Sango who had begun to charge. "we are here to talk to lady kagome" Miroku gets down onto one knee "will you please allow me to go to her, with you guiding me of course." He looks up to see the wolves' confused…suddenly…
"What do you want with the sister?"
"Yeah, what do you what with her?" Gintu and Hakaku walked out from behind a rock and walked toward them. The wolves back up to let them pass.
"We merely wish to speak with her. You see last time we saw her she was injured, and we wish to know if she is ok."
"I know you…you're the ones that hang around with kagome and Inu Yasha. Gintu looks over to kagome and Shippo.
"Yes, we are friends to kagome."
"Well then, come with me."
"Yeah, Kagome would enjoy your company, and if she is happy then he is" the two wolf demands look at each other. "He would be please with us" they said at the same time. They then turned as motioned them to follow. They walked through the water fall and into the large cave. They walked to the back to see kagome sitting on a large pile of hay roasting fresh meat over a small fire.
"KAGOME!" Shippo screamed as he jumped to her. Her arms flew open as she grabbed him, holding him tightly.
"Oh Shippo!" she sighed.
"Kagome are you alright?" Sango asked.
"Yes, I'm fine. What are you doing here?" she looked up and Sango and Miroku surprised.
"We came here to see if you really wanted to live here with Kouga" Sango whispered.
"Yeah we know you aren't attracted to him. We just wanted to make sure you didn't just want to avoid going with inu Yasha." Miroku whispered as well.
"Are you sure you want to live here?" asked Sango.
"Sango" kagome said looking to the ground "can you take me to the well? So I can go home…" she looked up to meat their gaze...tears filling her eyes.
"Whatever you wish kagome" Sango replied
"But how do we get out of here?" asked Miroku.
"I'll take care of it." Kagome said. "Go get me my Wolf prince" she asked a wolf that was laying about two feet from her. He did so. Kouga comes running back; smiling.
"What is it kagome" he looks to see the other. "That dog eared mutt isn't with you is he. I don't smell him!" he looks around.
"No, he left a long time ago. We don't want anything more to do with him" Sango said forcefully.
"Humph" he closed his eyes and walked over to kagome and sat down next to her. He had a smile on his face. "So what brings you here" he leans back. Kagome turns to him.
"Kouga?" she looks into his eyes sadly.
"Yes kagome" he sits up and put his hand on her face. "Is something wrong?" he asked.
"I just want to go see my family" she said…she looked down "would you mind if I went to them? I'll be back in a week!" she knew that she wouldn't really be.
"A week!" Kouga gasped. He took a minute to cool off. "Sure kagome, whatever makes you happy." He stood up. "Come on!" he reached for her hand "I'll take you!" She reached for his and he pulled her up. She was still a little weak from the battle the night before.
"Thank you Kouga" she said giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"Anything for you kagome" he picked her up and ran out of the cave. The others follow quickly behind.
"Follow the others Kouga, the know where it is"
"Ok" He stopped to let them in front, and then continued. They set up camp in a pile of large rocks. They looked and felt as if they were sanded down, making them soft to the touch. Kagome, almost to full strength, was off by herself, sitting on one of the large boulders, thinking to herself.
Does Inu Yasha love her so much that he would rather it be me that dies…and Kikyo that lives? With all of my soul? Suddenly, Sango climbs the boulder and sits next to her.
"Are you ok kagome, you look down." She knew that her friend was going threw are hard time, but didn't understand what exactly was going on.
"humph, I'm fine!" she pointed her nose in the air facing away from Sango, not wanting her to see her tears.
"You know you look just like Inu Yasha when you do that" she smiled…
This infuriated Kagome. "DON'T YOU EVER SAY THAT AGAIN!!" she screamed scaring the wit out of Sango.
Kouga and Miroku, who had been seated in silence for hours, glancing at each other, to uncertain of the other to make a conversation, heard the screaming. Kouga went to assist kagome, but Miroku stopped him by putting is staff in front of him. "Don't even try it. Kagome gets like this often, you have to stay clear or she'll take your head". Kouga looked scared, he had the "my mates insane?" look on his face. He sad down quietly. Starring at kagome's back.
"Ka-Kagome?" Sango whispered "what's wrong with you. I've never seen you like this"
Kagome's face softened as she realized what she had just done. She sat down and calmed herself. "I just don't want to be reminded of him, let alone compared." She turned angry. Her eyes filled with hates.
"Kagome?" Sango had become scared of her friend. She seemed to have change overnight.
"Inu Yasha will die by my hands!" she said with determination.
"You don't really mean that." Sango had become terrified of kagome, it was like she wasn't her anymore and wanting to kill Inu Yasha would go against her soul… WAIT! She thought Kagome shares Kikyo's soul! Kikyo's soul thrives to kill inu Yasha. Is Kikyo's anger trapped in her soul starting to have an effect on kagome?
"I do mean that, how dare he help Kikyo try to kill me, that is utterly barbaric!" kagome's eyes swelled with tears. Sango held her, "how could he do such a thing?"
Trying to ease her friend's pain, "I don't think it's what you think." Sango's voice shaked, scared to test Kagome and this newly found hatred. However, kagome said nothing, just cried silently as if trying to listen to an alternative to what she knew. "Inu Yasha ran to Kikyo, and I did hear him tell her to give back your soul. Is it possible that he was trying to get Kikyo to give up?"
"That would explain why he told her to give me my soul, but what about the hug... he held her…and was sad when she disappeared." Kagome didn't believe that Inu Yasha was trying to help her.
"I don't understand." There was a long pause, "say kagome, why don't you ask inu Yasha…."
Kagome saw something in the trees, flying by. "NO THANK YOU!" she flew up out of sango's arms, "SIT BOY!"
"AAAAHHH" *THUD*
"w-was that inu Yasha" sango looked in the direction they heard the noise.
"I saw his red kimono and silver hair." She layed down in sangos arms again. "If he comes any closer I will kill him with my sacred arrow. Just you wait!" she said starting to doze off. How am I supposed to kill him? I love him too much. I'll just go home, and I will return once in while to visit sango, Shippo and Miroku. No wait! Inu Yasha would know if I came. I will just leave forever! I'll never come back. She fell asleep to the memories of her and inu Yasha playing though her head.
The spell had worn of inu Yasha, so he jumped into a tree near the camp. Covered from head to toe in mud, hoping Kouga wouldn't smell his sent, or be too distracted to pick up on it. No matter how much Kagome hated him he needed to protect her. He wasn't ever going to leave her side.
