“Mom!!! Its not fair Kagome gets to have her friends come over even though Keiko is coming!!!??!! Why can't I just let Jiro come over?!” Souta whined.
“Souta, I know you want you're friends over but its rude and the only reason I am allowing Inuyasha and them to come is because I had already promised to have them over before we even knew little Keiko was coming.” , said Mrs. Higurashi. “And you know how excited Kagome is to introduce her to everyone.”
Mrs. Higurashi's eyes slightly misted over as she thought of her younger brother, the news of his car running off the road and how he didn't make it to the hospital, dying as he was brought there in a helicopter. His wife had died shortly after giving birth to their only daughter. Her brother had tried hard to raise Keiko on his own bringing her over on short vacations to visit her cousins. But now she was all alone and Mrs. Higurashi was more then ready to take in her niece, hoping maybe to help soothe the tragedy in life.

”Please Souta, just be good, I know how happy she will be to see us all, please just try hard to make her smile!”, she whispered softly to her son. Souta seeing the sad look on his mother's face quickly agreed and ran to finish readying the guest room for his cousin, he had loved when she came to visit because then she and Kagome would spend their time with him and watch over him when he was younger playing whatever game he wished. But know that he was older he knew Keiko didn't have to do the same things for him. But he loved how she had been so kind and happy and selfless. Looking out the window he saw the sun shining brightly and the vibrant cherry blossoms outside. “This day looks nothing like it should.” He grew a little sadder thinking how much his cousin had cried losing her father and now having to start all over again in a new country.

”I'll try my best to make her smile”, whispered resolutely to himself.

”Inyusha hurry up! Keiko is going to be getting at my house soon and your just taking your time wondering around. Look Sango, Miroku, and Shippo have already walked towards the well and are ready to go. Now stop being difficult!!”, Kagome yelled.

”Alright, I was just waiting around to see if Sesshomarou would show up like he said, but knowing him he probably had something more important to do with his time. It doesn't matter I told Kaede if he came wandering to tell him I would be gone for a while.” Inyusaha said as he strolled nonchalantly towards the well. Kagome was only able to sigh as she quickly followed up behind him, as they all got into the well Kagome had them all link hands so she could bring them all back with her. In a matter of second the entire group was back in Kagome's era.

As they climbed out and ran into the house Kagome cried out “Mom we're back! Has Keiko arrived yet?” The group walked in and all began to settle as if it was their own house, Sango wandering into the kitchen to help Mrs. Higurashi, while the boys headed over to Souta's room to see if there was anything they could help out with. Mrs. Higurashi wandered out of the kitchen to hug her daughter tightly. “ No Keiko hasn't come yet, but she should be here shortly,”, Mrs. Higurashi said. Kagome's face took on the same sad look her mother had. Keiko being her only cousin and her best friend and she told her everything. She was the only one outside of her house to know that Kagome was able to travel to the Feudal era and now that the Shikon no Tama had been made complete and Naraku had been defeated Kagome spent increasing amounts of time there to stay with her lover, Inuyasha. But she knew this time her cousin visited she would be staying for good, no longer having anyone but them.

“Maybe she'll go back with us for a while and adventure around for a bit, maybe that would take her mind off things. Maybe a new era is what she needs, and being with my friends will keep her more then distracted.”, she thought to herself. Looking at her mom Kagome nodded and quickly walked to her room to get the presents she had bought for her cousin.

A moment later they were all greeted by the sound of the doorbell ringing. They all rushed to the window to see a red taxi waiting out front. “Kagome, go get the door!”, her mother called just as Kagome ran down the stairs to greet her cousin. She opened the door to be greeted by near body replica of herself. Soft curves pressed against the white dress her cousin wore and straight jet black hair spilling down her back. The figure turned around and Kagome was greeted by sad pools of violet. A small smile played across her cousin's face as they both rushed for a hug.

”Oh Keiko! I'm so glad to see you, everyone is waiting upstairs for you and we are all so happy you're here.” Kagome said as stray tears spilled down her cheeks.

”Oh Kagome..” the girl whispered. Tears spilling out over her pale cheeks. The slightly smaller girl hugged her cousin tighter crying into her shoulder. Her pained sobs causing her to shudder softly. The taxi driver brought over the girls final two suit cases and cast her a sad gaze. Then nodded slightly to Kagome and drove off. Keiko let go and looked up at her cousin, “I'm sorry Kagome, I can't help it too much. I try hard not to breakdown but the harder I try the more it happens.”, she whispered sadly.

”Keiko, you have all the reason in the world to cry,” she said softly, “but let me try and make you smile if only for a short time. Everyone I told you about is waiting to meet you up stairs and my mom has been running around frantically waiting for you to arrive.”
Keiko leaned back and ran her hands over her face wiping away her tears and smiled up sadly at her cousin.

”Okay Kagome I'm ready to go.” She sad softly, the words barely slipping from her lips.
Kagome nodded and smiled but felt a pained tug at her heart. She had remembered how vibrant and pleasant her cousin was always smiling, and that joy caused her to be one of the most beautiful people Kagome knew. But now the saddened smiles that graced her cousin's face covered that vibrant beauty and it was replaced by a saddened beauty. Kagome hoped she could bring the true smiles back to her face.

Okay there is my first chapter!!! Sorry its moving slow right now but I just want to develop character and a bit of a storyline. This is my first attempt at this and hopefully it started off alright. Please don't attack me over it !! @@ . But encouragement is always great! We all know encouragement boosts creativity!! * ^.^ *
